Por esta razón, hay una mayor necesidad de que prestemos atención a las cosas que han llegado a nuestros oídos, para que no nos apartemos del camino.

POR tanto, es menester que con más diligencia atendamos á las cosas que hemos oído, porque acaso no nos escurramos.

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.

Porque si la palabra que vino a través de los ángeles fue firme, y en el pasado todo acto malvado contra las órdenes de Dios recibió su castigo completo;

Porque si la palabra dicha por los ángeles fué firme, y toda rebelión y desobediencia recibió justa paga de retribución,

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

¿Cómo, pues, escaparemos nosotros si descuidamos tan gran salvación? una salvación de la cual nuestros padres primero tuvieron conocimiento por medio de las palabras del Señor, y que nos fue confirmada por aquellos a quienes llegaron sus palabras;

¿Cómo escaparemos nosotros, si tuviéremos en poco una salud tan grande? La cual, habiendo comenzado á ser publicada por el Señor, ha sido confirmada hasta nosotros por los que oyeron;

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,

Y Dios fue testigo con ellos, mediante señales y maravillas, y por poderes más que naturales, y por su distribución del Espíritu Santo a su placer.

Testificando juntamente con ellos Dios, con señales y milagros, y diversas maravillas, y repartimientos del Espíritu Santo según su voluntad.

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

Porque no hizo gobernar a los ángeles sobre el mundo venidero, del cual estoy escribiendo.

Porque no sujetó á los ángeles el mundo venidero, del cual hablamos.

For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.

Pero cierto escritor ha dado su testimonio, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre para que lo tengas en mente? ¿Qué es el hijo del hombre, que lo tomas en cuenta?

Testificó empero uno en cierto lugar, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre, que te acuerdas de él? ¿ó el hijo del hombre, que le visitas?

But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?

Lo hiciste un poco más bajo que los ángeles; le diste una corona de gloria y honor, y le hiciste gobernante sobre todas las obras de tus manos:

Tú le hiciste un poco menor que los ángeles, coronástele de gloria y de honra, y pusístele sobre las obras de tus manos;

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.

Pones todas las cosas bajo sus pies. Porque al hacer al hombre el gobernante sobre todas las cosas, Dios no puso nada fuera de su autoridad; aunque ahora no vemos todo debajo de él.

Todas las cosas sujetaste debajo de sus pies. Porque en cuanto le sujetó todas las cosas, nada dejó que no sea sujeto á él; mas aun no vemos que todas las cosas le sean sujetas.

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t yet see all things subjected to him.

Pero nosotros vemos al que fue hecho un poco más bajo que los ángeles, a Jesús, coronado de gloria y honor, porque se dejó matar para que por la gracia de Dios sufriera la muerte por todos los hombres.

Empero vemos coronado de gloria y de honra, por el padecimiento de muerte, á aquel Jesús que es hecho un poco menor que los ángeles, para que por gracia de Dios gustase la muerte por todos.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

Porque era conveniente para aquel, por cuya causa son todas las cosas, y por quién todas las cosas subsisten, para guiar a sus hijos a la gloria, para completar el dolor del capitán de su salvación, Jesucristo.

Porque convenía que aquel por cuya causa son todas las cosas, y por el cual todas las cosas subsisten, habiendo de llevar á la gloria á muchos hijos, hiciese consumado por aflicciones al autor de la salud de ellos.

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Porque el que santifica y los santificados son todos de una sola familia; y por esta razón no es ninguna vergüenza para él darles el nombre de hermanos,

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Diciendo: Daré el conocimiento de tu nombre a mis hermanos, te haré un canto de alabanza delante de la iglesia.

Diciendo: Anunciaré á mis hermanos tu nombre, en medio de la congregación te alabaré.

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”

Y otra vez él dice: Pondré mi confianza en él. Y otra vez: Mira, yo estoy aquí, y los hijos que Dios me ha dado.

Y otra vez: Yo confiaré en él. Y otra vez: He aquí, yo y los hijos que me dió Dios.

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”

Y como los hijos son de carne y hueso, él mismo tomó un cuerpo y se hizo como ellos; para que con su muerte pudiera poner fin al que tenía el poder de la muerte, es decir, el Maligno;

Así que, por cuanto los hijos participaron de carne y sangre, él también participó de lo mismo, para destruir por la muerte al que tenía el imperio de la muerte, es á saber, al diablo,

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Y que aquellos que todas sus vidas estuvieron encadenados por temor a la muerte, sean libres.

Y librar á los que por el temor de la muerte estaban por toda la vida sujetos á servidumbre.

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Porque, verdaderamente, él no toma la vida de los ángeles, sino la de la simiente de Abraham.

Porque ciertamente no tomó á los ángeles, sino á la simiente de Abraham tomó.

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

For most certainly, he doesn’t give help to angels, but he gives help to the offspring of Abraham.

Debido a esto, era necesario que se hiciera semejante a sus hermanos en todos los aspectos, para que fuera un sumo sacerdote delante de Dios fiel y lleno de misericordia para obtener el perdón de los pecados, haciendo ofrenda por los pecados del pueblo.

Por lo cual, debía ser en todo semejante á los hermanos, para venir á ser misericordioso y fiel Pontífice en lo que es para con Dios, para expiar los pecados del pueblo.

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Por haber sido puesto a prueba por sí mismo, puede ayudar a otros cuando se someten a la prueba.

Porque en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer á los que son tentados.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
