Hebreos 2

Pues si la ley promulgada por los ángeles fue firme, y toda trasgresión y desobediencia recibió el justo castigo que merecía,

POR tanto, es menester que con más diligencia atendamos á las cosas que hemos oído, porque acaso no nos escurramos.

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.

¿cómo lo evitaremos nosotros, si desatendemos la buena nueva de tan gran salud? La cual habiendo comenzado el Señor a predicarla, ha sido después confirmada hasta nosotros por los que la habían oído,

Porque si la palabra dicha por los ángeles fué firme, y toda rebelión y desobediencia recibió justa paga de retribución,

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

atestiguándola Dios con señales, y portentos, y variedad de milagros, y con los dones del Espíritu Santo que ha distribuido según su beneplácito.

¿Cómo escaparemos nosotros, si tuviéremos en poco una salud tan grande? La cual, habiendo comenzado á ser publicada por el Señor, ha sido confirmada hasta nosotros por los que oyeron;

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,

Porque no sometió Dios a los ángeles el mundo venidero de que hablamos.

Testificando juntamente con ellos Dios, con señales y milagros, y diversas maravillas, y repartimientos del Espíritu Santo según su voluntad.

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

Antes uno en cierto lugar testificó, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre que así te acuerdas de él, o el hijo del hombre para que le mires tan favorablemente?

Porque no sujetó á los ángeles el mundo venidero, del cual hablamos.

For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.

Le hizo por un poco de tiempo inferior a los ángeles, mas luego le has coronado de gloria y de honor, y le has constituido sobre las obras de tus manos.

Testificó empero uno en cierto lugar, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre, que te acuerdas de él? ¿ó el hijo del hombre, que le visitas?

But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?

Todas las cosas has sujetado a sus pies, o a su humanidad santísima. Conque si Dios todas las cosas ha sujetado a él, no ha dejado ninguna que no haya a él sometido. Ahora no vemos que todas las cosas le estén todavía sujetas.

Tú le hiciste un poco menor que los ángeles, coronástele de gloria y de honra, y pusístele sobre las obras de tus manos;

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.

Mas vemos a aquel mismo Jesús , que por un poco de tiempo fue hecho inferior a los ángeles, coronado ya de gloria y de honor, por la muerte que padeció, habiendo querido Dios por pura gracia o misericordia, que muriese por todos los hombres.

Todas las cosas sujetaste debajo de sus pies. Porque en cuanto le sujetó todas las cosas, nada dejó que no sea sujeto á él; mas aun no vemos que todas las cosas le sean sujetas.

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t yet see all things subjected to him.

Por cuanto era cosa digna que aquel Dios para quien y por quien son todas las cosas, habiendo de conducir a muchos hijos adoptivos a la gloria, consumase o inmolase por medio de la pasión y muerte al autor y modelo de la salvación de los mismos, Jesucristo Señor nuestro.

Empero vemos coronado de gloria y de honra, por el padecimiento de muerte, á aquel Jesús que es hecho un poco menor que los ángeles, para que por gracia de Dios gustase la muerte por todos.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

Porque el que santifica, y los que son santificados, todos traen de uno su origen o la naturaleza humana. Por esta causa no se desdeña de llamarlos hermanos, diciendo:

Porque convenía que aquel por cuya causa son todas las cosas, y por el cual todas las cosas subsisten, habiendo de llevar á la gloria á muchos hijos, hiciese consumado por aflicciones al autor de la salud de ellos.

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

For it became him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Anunciaré tu nombre a mis hermanos; en medio de la iglesia, o reunión de tu pueblo, cantaré tus alabanzas.

Porque el que santifica y los que son santificados, de uno son todos: por lo cual no se avergüenza de llamarlos hermanos,

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Y en otra parte: Yo pondré en él toda mi confianza. Item: He aquí, yo y mis hijos, que Dios me ha dado.

Diciendo: Anunciaré á mis hermanos tu nombre, en medio de la congregación te alabaré.

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”

Y por cuanto los hijos tienen comunes la carne y sangre, él también participó de las mismas cosas, para destruir por su muerte al que tenía el imperio de la muerte, es a saber, al diablo,

Y otra vez: Yo confiaré en él. Y otra vez: He aquí, yo y los hijos que me dió Dios.

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”

y librar a aquellos que por el temor de la muerte estaban toda la vida sujetos a servidumbre.

Así que, por cuanto los hijos participaron de carne y sangre, él también participó de lo mismo, para destruir por la muerte al que tenía el imperio de la muerte, es á saber, al diablo,

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Porque no tomó jamás la naturaleza de los ángeles, sino que tomó la sangre de Abrahán.

Y librar á los que por el temor de la muerte estaban por toda la vida sujetos á servidumbre.

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Por lo cual debió en todo semejarse a sus hermanos, a fin de ser un sumo sacerdote misericordioso y fiel para con Dios, en orden a expiar o satisfacer por los pecados del pueblo.

Porque ciertamente no tomó á los ángeles, sino á la simiente de Abraham tomó.

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

For most certainly, he doesn’t give help to angels, but he gives help to the offspring of Abraham.

Ya que por razón de haber él mismo padecido y sido tentado, puede también dar la mano a los que son tentados.

Por lo cual, debía ser en todo semejante á los hermanos, para venir á ser misericordioso y fiel Pontífice en lo que es para con Dios, para expiar los pecados del pueblo.

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Por lo cual vosotros, mis santos hermanos, partícipes que sois de la vocación celestial, poned los ojos en Jesús , apóstol y sumo sacredote de nuestra profesión, o religión santa,

Porque en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer á los que son tentados.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
