Mas quanto mais os chamava, mais rebeldes eles se tornavam. Ofereciam sacrifícios a Baal e queimavam incenso aos ídolos.

Ensinei Israel a andar, como a mãe ensina seu filhinho. Segurei-os em meus braços, mas eles não perceberam que fui eu quem os curou.
Yo con todo eso guiaba en pies al mismo Ephraim, tomándolos de sus brazos; y no conocieron que yo los cuidaba.
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
Yet I taught Ephraim to walk. I took them by their arms, but they didn’t know that I healed them.
Com laços de amor e bondade, eu os trouxe para perto de mim; eu os segurei nos meus braços; tirei o jugo do seu pescoço e eu mesmo me abaixei e lhes dei comida.

“O meu povo não voltará ao Egito, mas será escravo em outro país, a Assíria, porque não quer se converter e voltar para mim.
No tornará á tierra de Egipto, antes el mismo Assur será su rey, porque no se quisieron convertir.
He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
“They won’t return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian will be their king, because they refused to repent.
“A guerra varrerá as cidades de Israel. Os inimigos arrombarão os portões das cidades e prenderão os israelitas nas fortalezas onde vão se esconder.
Y caerá espada sobre sus ciudades, y consumirá sus aldeas; consumirálas á causa de sus consejos.
And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
The sword will fall on their cities, and will destroy the bars of their gates, and will put an end to their plans.
O meu povo está decidido a me abandonar, e por isso eu o condenei à escravidão; ninguém será capaz de livrar Israel.
Entre tanto, está mi pueblo adherido á la rebelión contra mí: aunque lo llaman al Altísimo, ninguno absolutamente quiere ensalzarle.
And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them.
“Ah, Israel, como é que vou abandoná-lo! Nunca seria capaz de fazer isto! Nunca poderia fazer com você o que fiz com Admá e Zeboim! O meu coração grita dentro de mim! Ah, como gostaria de ajudá-lo!
¿Cómo tengo de dejarte, oh Ehpraim? ¿he de entregarte yo, Israel? ¿cómo podré yo hacerte como Adma, ni ponerte como á Zeboim? Mi corazón se revuelve dentro de mí, inflámanse todas mis conmiseraciones.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.
Não, não vou castigar os israelitas conforme a minha forte ira exige. Esta é a última vez que vou destruir Israel. Eu sou Deus e não um simples homem. Eu sou o Santo que vive entre vocês. Eu não vim para destruir.
No ejecutaré el furor de mi ira, no volveré para destruir á Ephraim: porque Dios soy, y no hombre; el Santo en medio de ti: y no entraré en la ciudad.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.
“Pois o povo vai seguir ao Senhor. Rugirei como um leão para espantar os inimigos de Israel, e o meu povo, tremendo, voltará do ocidente.
En pos de Jehová caminarán: él bramará como león: cual león rugirá él de cierto, y los hijos se moverán azorados del occidente.
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
They will walk after the LORD, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
Como um bando de pássaros, eles virão do Egito e voando como pombas virão da Assíria. Eu os trarei de volta para seus lares”. Palavra do Senhor!
Como ave se moverán velozmente de Egipto, y de la tierra de Asiria como paloma; y pondrélos en sus casas, dice Jehová.
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will settle them in their houses,” says the LORD.
Israel me cercou com mentiras e falsidades, e Judá é rebelde contra Deus, contra o Santo fiel.

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. Judah still strays from God, and is unfaithful to the Holy One.
