Como pasa el crepúsculo de la mañana, así pasó el rey de Israel. Al principio era la casa de Israel un niño, yo lo amé; y yo llamé e hice venir de Egipto a mi hijo.
CUANDO Israel era muchacho, yo lo amé, y de Egipto llamé á mi hijo.
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Mis profetas amonestaron a los hijos de Israel; pero éstos se alejaron tanto más de ellos, ofrecían víctimas a Baal y sacrificios a los ídolos.
Como los llamaban, así ellos se iban de su presencia; á los Baales sacrificaban, y á las esculturas ofrecían sahumerios.
As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

Yo me hice como ayo de Efraín, le traje en mis brazos, y los hijos de Efraín desconocieron que yo soy el que cuida de su salud.
Yo con todo eso guiaba en pies al mismo Ephraim, tomándolos de sus brazos; y no conocieron que yo los cuidaba.
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
Yet I taught Ephraim to walk. I took them by their arms, but they didn’t know that I healed them.
Yo los atraje hacia mí con vínculos propios de hombres, con los vínculos de la caridad; yo fui para ellos como quien les aliviaba el yugo que apretaba sus quijadas, y les presenté qué comer.
Con cuerdas humanas los traje, con cuerdas de amor: y fuí para ellos como los que alzan el yugo de sobre sus mejillas, y llegué hacia él la comida.
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

No volverán ya todos ellos a la tierra de Egipto; sino que el asirio será su rey, por cuanto no han querido convertirse.

He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
“They won’t return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian will be their king, because they refused to repent.
La espada ha comenzado a recorrer sus ciudades, y consumirá la flor de sus habitantes, y devorará sus caudillos.
Y caerá espada sobre sus ciudades, y consumirá sus aldeas; consumirálas á causa de sus consejos.
And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
The sword will fall on their cities, and will destroy the bars of their gates, and will put an end to their plans.
Entretanto estará mi pueblo como en un hilo, esperando con ansia que yo vuelva; mas a todos se les pondrá un yugo perpetuo.
Entre tanto, está mi pueblo adherido á la rebelión contra mí: aunque lo llaman al Altísimo, ninguno absolutamente quiere ensalzarle.
And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them.
¿Qué haré yo de ti, oh Efraín? ¿Seré yo tu protector, oh Israel? Pues qué ¿podré yo tratarte como a Adama, ni ponerte como puse a Seboim? ¡Ah! mis entrañas se conmueven dentro de mí, yo me siento como arrepentido.
¿Cómo tengo de dejarte, oh Ehpraim? ¿he de entregarte yo, Israel? ¿cómo podré yo hacerte como Adma, ni ponerte como á Zeboim? Mi corazón se revuelve dentro de mí, inflámanse todas mis conmiseraciones.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.
No dejaré obrar el furor de mi indignación, no me resolveré a destruir a Efraín, porque yo soy Dios y no un hombre. El Santo ha habitado en medio de ti, y así no entraré en la ciudad para destruirla.
No ejecutaré el furor de mi ira, no volveré para destruir á Ephraim: porque Dios soy, y no hombre; el Santo en medio de ti: y no entraré en la ciudad.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.
Ellos seguirán al Señor, cuando él ruga como león. Rugirá el Señor, y causará asombro a los hijos del mar.
En pos de Jehová caminarán: él bramará como león: cual león rugirá él de cierto, y los hijos se moverán azorados del occidente.
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
They will walk after the LORD, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
Y volarán desde Egipto como un ave ligera, y como veloz paloma a su nido vendrán de tierra de Asiria, y yo los restableceré en sus moradas, dice el Señor.
Como ave se moverán velozmente de Egipto, y de la tierra de Asiria como paloma; y pondrélos en sus casas, dice Jehová.
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will settle them in their houses,” says the LORD.
Efraín me ha estrechado el paso con renegar de mí, y con sus fraudes la casa de Israel; Judá ha venido a dar testimonio a Dios de su amor, y sigue fielmente el camino de los santos.

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. Judah still strays from God, and is unfaithful to the Holy One.
