CERCÓME Ephraim con mentira, y la casa de Israel con engaño: mas Judá aun domina con Dios, y es fiel con los santos.
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

El Señor tiene una causa contra Judá, y castigará a Jacob por sus caminos; él le dará la recompensa de sus actos.

En cuanto a Canaán, la balanza del engaño está en sus manos; ama la opresión.

He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
Y Efraín dijo: Ahora tengo riqueza y mucha propiedad; Nadie hallará en mi iniquidad, ni en todas mis obras se ve pecado en mí.
Es mercader que tiene en su mano peso falso, amador de opresión.
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
Pero yo soy el Señor tu Dios de la tierra de Egipto; Te volveré a dar tiendas de campaña para vivir como en los días de la reunión solemne.
Y dijo Ephraim: Ciertamente yo he enriquecido, hallado he riquezas para mí: nadie hallará en mí iniquidad, ni pecado en todos mis trabajos.

Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

Y Jacob salió en fuga al campo de Aram, e Israel se convirtió en siervo de una esposa, y para una esposa tenía ovejas.
¿Es Galaad iniquidad? Ciertamente vanidad han sido: en Gilgal sacrificaron bueyes: y aun son sus altares como montones en los surcos del campo.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
Jacob fled into the country of Aram. Israel served to get a wife. For a wife he tended flocks and herds.
Y por un profeta, el Señor hizo que Israel saliera de Egipto, y por un profeta lo mantuvieron a salvo.
Mas Jacob huyó á tierra de Aram, y sirvió Israel por mujer, y por mujer fué pastor.

Efraín me irritó amargamente; por eso su sangre recaiga sobre él, y el Señor hará que su vergüenza vuelva sobre él.
Y por profeta hizo subir Jehová á Israel de Egipto, y por profeta fué guardado. Enojado ha Ephraim á Dios con amarguras; por tanto, sus sangres se derramarán sobre él, y su Señor le pagará su oprobio.
Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
