1La comida de Efraín es el viento, y él va tras el viento del este: el engaño y la destrucción aumentan día a día; llegan a un acuerdo con Asiria y llevan el aceite a Egipto.
2El Señor tiene una causa contra Judá, y castigará a Jacob por sus caminos; él le dará la recompensa de sus actos.
3En el cuerpo de su madre tomó a su hermano por el pie, y en su fuerza estaba luchando con él Dios Supremo;
4Tuvo una pelea con el ángel y lo venció; le hizo un pedido de gracia con llanto; se encontró cara a cara con él en Betel y allí habló con el;
5Aun el Señor, Dios de los ejércitos; El Señor es su nombre.
6Entonces, vuelve a tu Dios; ten piedad y rectitud, y espera en todo momento a tu Dios.
7En cuanto a Canaán, la balanza del engaño está en sus manos; ama la opresión.
8Y Efraín dijo: Ahora tengo riqueza y mucha propiedad; Nadie hallará en mi iniquidad, ni en todas mis obras se ve pecado en mí.
9Pero yo soy el Señor tu Dios de la tierra de Egipto; Te volveré a dar tiendas de campaña para vivir como en los días de la reunión solemne.
10Mi palabra llegó a oídos de los profetas y multipliqué las visiones, y por boca de los profetas hice uso de parábolas.
11En Galaad hay maldad. Son absolutamente vanidad; en Gilgal hacen ofrendas de bueyes; verdaderamente sus altares son como masas de piedras en los surcos de arado.
12Y Jacob salió en fuga al campo de Aram, e Israel se convirtió en siervo de una esposa, y para una esposa tenía ovejas.
13Y por un profeta, el Señor hizo que Israel saliera de Egipto, y por un profeta lo mantuvieron a salvo.
14Efraín me irritó amargamente; por eso su sangre recaiga sobre él, y el Señor hará que su vergüenza vuelva sobre él.

1CERCÓME Ephraim con mentira, y la casa de Israel con engaño: mas Judá aun domina con Dios, y es fiel con los santos.
2Ephraim se apacienta del viento, y sigue al solano: mentira y destrucción aumenta continuamente; porque hicieron alianza con los Asirios, y aceite se lleva á Egipto.
3Pleito tiene Jehová con Judá para visitar á Jacob conforme á sus caminos: pagarále conforme á sus obras.
4En el vientre tomó por el calcañar á su hermano, y con su fortaleza venció al ángel.
5Venció al ángel, y prevaleció; lloró, y rogóle: en Beth-el le halló, y allí habló con nosotros.
6Mas Jehová es Dios de los ejércitos: Jehová es su memorial.
7Tú pues, conviértete á tu Dios: guarda misericordia y juicio, y en tu Dios espera siempre.
8Es mercader que tiene en su mano peso falso, amador de opresión.
9Y dijo Ephraim: Ciertamente yo he enriquecido, hallado he riquezas para mí: nadie hallará en mí iniquidad, ni pecado en todos mis trabajos.
10Empero yo soy Jehová tu Dios desde la tierra de Egipto: aun te haré morar en tiendas, como en los días de la fiesta.
11Y hablado he á los profetas, y yo aumenté la profecía, y por mano de los profetas puse semejanzas.
12¿Es Galaad iniquidad? Ciertamente vanidad han sido: en Gilgal sacrificaron bueyes: y aun son sus altares como montones en los surcos del campo.
13Mas Jacob huyó á tierra de Aram, y sirvió Israel por mujer, y por mujer fué pastor.
14Y por profeta hizo subir Jehová á Israel de Egipto, y por profeta fué guardado. Enojado ha Ephraim á Dios con amarguras; por tanto, sus sangres se derramarán sobre él, y su Señor le pagará su oprobio.
King James Version
1Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
3He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
4Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Beth-el, and there he spake with us;
5Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
6Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
7He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
8And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
9And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
11Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
13And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
14Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.

1Ephraim feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and desolation. They make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2The LORD also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.
3In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he contended with God.
4Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us—
5even the LORD, the God of Armies. The LORD is his name of renown!
6Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.
7A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
8Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
9“But I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10I have also spoken to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets I have used parables.
11If Gilead is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.
12Jacob fled into the country of Aram. Israel served to get a wife. For a wife he tended flocks and herds.
13By a prophet the LORD brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
14Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
