CERCÓME Ephraim con mentira, y la casa de Israel con engaño: mas Judá aun domina con Dios, y es fiel con los santos.
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

Yahvé también tiene una acusación contra Judá, y castigará a Jacob por su mala conducta; le dará su merecido según sus obras.
Ephraim se apacienta del viento, y sigue al solano: mentira y destrucción aumenta continuamente; porque hicieron alianza con los Asirios, y aceite se lleva á Egipto.

Ya desde el vientre tomó a su hermano por el talón, y en su madurez luchó contra Dios.
Pleito tiene Jehová con Judá para visitar á Jacob conforme á sus caminos: pagarále conforme á sus obras.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

En el vientre tomó por el calcañar á su hermano, y con su fortaleza venció al ángel.

¡Yahvé, el Dios de los ejércitos! ¡Yahvé es su nombre memorable!
Venció al ángel, y prevaleció; lloró, y rogóle: en Beth-el le halló, y allí habló con nosotros.
Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.

Por lo tanto, regresa a tu Dios. Practica el amor y la justicia, y pon siempre tu esperanza en tu Dios.
Mas Jehová es Dios de los ejércitos: Jehová es su memorial.
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

Es un comerciante con balanzas alteradas en la mano; le encanta defraudar.
Tú pues, conviértete á tu Dios: guarda misericordia y juicio, y en tu Dios espera siempre.
He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
Efraín dijo: “¡Qué rico me he hecho! He acumulado mucha riqueza. En todas mis ganancias, no me encontrarán ningún delito que sea pecado”.
Es mercader que tiene en su mano peso falso, amador de opresión.
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
“Pero yo soy Yahvé tu Dios, desde que estabas en la tierra de Egipto. Yo haré que vuelvan a vivir en tiendas de campaña, como en los días de las fiestas solemnes.
Y dijo Ephraim: Ciertamente yo he enriquecido, hallado he riquezas para mí: nadie hallará en mí iniquidad, ni pecado en todos mis trabajos.
And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

También les he hablado a los profetas, y les he dado muchas visiones; y por medio de los profetas he usado parábolas.
Empero yo soy Jehová tu Dios desde la tierra de Egipto: aun te haré morar en tiendas, como en los días de la fiesta.

Si en Galaad hay maldad, seguramente quedarán en nada. En Gilgal sacrifican toros; pero sus altares quedarán como montones de piedras en los surcos del campo.
Y hablado he á los profetas, y yo aumenté la profecía, y por mano de los profetas puse semejanzas.
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
If Gilead is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.
Jacob huyó a la tierra de Aram. Allí Israel trabajó para conseguir esposa; cuidó rebaños para pagar por ella.
¿Es Galaad iniquidad? Ciertamente vanidad han sido: en Gilgal sacrificaron bueyes: y aun son sus altares como montones en los surcos del campo.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
Jacob fled into the country of Aram. Israel served to get a wife. For a wife he tended flocks and herds.
Por medio de un profeta, Yahvé sacó a Israel de Egipto, y por medio de un profeta lo cuidó.
Mas Jacob huyó á tierra de Aram, y sirvió Israel por mujer, y por mujer fué pastor.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

Efraín ha provocado la ira amarga de su Señor; por lo tanto, él le hará pagar por la sangre derramada, y le devolverá sus ofensas”.
Y por profeta hizo subir Jehová á Israel de Egipto, y por profeta fué guardado. Enojado ha Ephraim á Dios con amarguras; por tanto, sus sangres se derramarán sobre él, y su Señor le pagará su oprobio.
Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
