CERCÓME Ephraim con mentira, y la casa de Israel con engaño: mas Judá aun domina con Dios, y es fiel con los santos.

Mas o Senhor também tem uma acusação contra Judá. Judá também será castigada com justiça por causa de seus maus caminhos.

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

Mas isso não acontece. O meu povo se parece com os descendentes de Canaã, comerciantes desonestos, que usam balanças falsas. Eles amam o roubo e a mentira.
Tú pues, conviértete á tu Dios: guarda misericordia y juicio, y en tu Dios espera siempre.
He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
Israel, cheio de si, afirma: “Sou muito rico! E consegui tudo isso sozinho!” E ninguém pode nos acusar de termos ajuntado a nossa riqueza por meio de crime ou pecado.
Es mercader que tiene en su mano peso falso, amador de opresión.
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
“Eu sou o mesmo Senhor, o seu Deus, que tirou os israelitas do Egito. Vou fazer vocês morarem em cabanas novamente, como faziam quando eu me encontrei com vocês no deserto.
Y dijo Ephraim: Ciertamente yo he enriquecido, hallado he riquezas para mí: nadie hallará en mí iniquidad, ni pecado en todos mis trabajos.
And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

Apesar disso, os pecados de Gilgal continuam crescendo. Filas e filas de altares, como valetas num campo pronto para a plantação, onde fazem sacrifícios aos seus deuses. E Gileade também está cheia de gente que não vale nada, que vive adorando ídolos.
Y hablado he á los profetas, y yo aumenté la profecía, y por mano de los profetas puse semejanzas.
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
If Gilead is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.
Jacó fugiu para a Síria e lá trabalhou para obter sua esposa, tomando conta de ovelhas.
¿Es Galaad iniquidad? Ciertamente vanidad han sido: en Gilgal sacrificaron bueyes: y aun son sus altares como montones en los surcos del campo.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
Jacob fled into the country of Aram. Israel served to get a wife. For a wife he tended flocks and herds.
Depois disso, o Senhor tirou o seu povo do Egito por meio de um profeta, que guiou e protegeu Israel.

Mas Israel provocou terrivelmente a ira do Senhor. Por isso, ele fará com que paguem pelos crimes que cometeram e os castigará por causa dos seus pecados.
Y por profeta hizo subir Jehová á Israel de Egipto, y por profeta fué guardado. Enojado ha Ephraim á Dios con amarguras; por tanto, sus sangres se derramarán sobre él, y su Señor le pagará su oprobio.
Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
