A las palabras que pronunció Jeroboam, rey de Efraín, se intimidó Israel, y pecó adorando a Baal, con lo cual quedó como un muerto.
CUANDO Ephraim hablaba, hubo temor; fué ensalzado en Israel; mas pecó en Baal, y murió.

Le asaltarán; agudos dolores como de una mujer que está de parto. Es ese pueblo un hijo insensato, y no podrá subsistir ahora en medio del destrozo de sus hijos.
Dolores de mujer de parto le vendrán: es un hijo ignorante, que de otra manera no estuviera tanto tiempo en el rompimiento de los hijos.

Samaria será asolada, porque se rebeló contra su Dios: caerán á cuchillo: sus niños serán estrellados, y sus preñadas serán abiertas.
