Escuchen la palabra de Yahvé, israelitas, porque Yahvé tiene una acusación contra los habitantes del país: “Pues no hay verdad, ni lealtad, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.
OID palabra de Jehová, hijos de Israel, porque Jehová pleitea con los moradores de la tierra; porque no hay verdad, ni misericordia, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the LORD’s word, you children of Israel, for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Abundan las maldiciones, las mentiras, los asesinatos, los robos y los adulterios; rompen todos los límites, y un asesinato sigue a otro.
Perjurar, y mentir, y matar, y hurtar y adulterar prevalecieron, y sangres se tocaron con sangres.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
Por lo tanto, la tierra estará de luto, y todo el que habite en ella se consumirá, junto con los animales del campo y las aves del cielo; ¡hasta los peces del mar morirán!
Por lo cual, se enlutará la tierra, y extenuaráse todo morador de ella, con las bestias del campo, y las aves del cielo: y aun los peces de la mar fallecerán.

Tropezarás en pleno día, y el profeta también tropezará contigo de noche; y destruiré a tu madre.
Caerás por tanto en el día, y caerá también contigo el profeta de noche; y á tu madre talaré.
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

Mi pueblo es destruido por falta de conocimiento. Como has rechazado el conocimiento, yo también te rechazaré a ti, para que no seas mi sacerdote. Y como has olvidado la ley de tu Dios, yo también me olvidaré de tus hijos.
Mi pueblo fué talado, porque le faltó sabiduría. Porque tú desechaste la sabiduría, yo te echaré del sacerdocio: y pues que olvidaste la ley de tu Dios, también yo me olvidaré de tus hijos.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Mi pueblo le consulta a su ídolo de madera, y un pedazo de palo le responde. Pues un espíritu de prostitución los ha descarriado, y se han prostituido alejándose de su Dios.
Mi pueblo á su madero pregunta, y su palo le responde: porque espíritu de fornicaciones lo engañó, y fornicaron debajo de sus dioses.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.
Ofrecen sacrificios en las cumbres de las montañas, y queman incienso en las colinas, bajo las encinas, los álamos y los terebintos, porque su sombra es agradable. Por eso sus hijas se prostituyen, y sus nueras cometen adulterio.

Porque Israel se ha vuelto tan terco como una novilla terca. ¿Cómo podrá Yahvé pastorearlos como a corderos en un prado abierto?
Porque como becerra cerrera se apartó Israel: ¿apacentarálos ahora Jehová como á carneros en anchura?
For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow?
Efraín se ha unido a los ídolos. ¡Déjenlo en paz!
Ephraim es dado á ídolos; déjalo.

Cuando se les acaba la bebida, se entregan por completo a la prostitución; a sus gobernantes les encanta la deshonra.
Su bebida se corrompió; fornicaron pertinazmente: sus príncipes amaron las dádivas, afrenta de ellos.
Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.

El viento los envolverá en sus alas, y se avergonzarán de sus sacrificios.
