¡Escucha la palabra del Señor, pueblo de Israel, porque el Señor tiene una acusación contra los habitantes de la tierra! “No hay fidelidad, lealtad ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.
OID palabra de Jehová, hijos de Israel, porque Jehová pleitea con los moradores de la tierra; porque no hay verdad, ni misericordia, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the LORD’s word, you children of Israel, for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Por el contrario, solo hay maldiciones, mentiras, asesinatos, robos y adulterio. Cometen actos violentos y hay gran derramamiento de sangre.
Perjurar, y mentir, y matar, y hurtar y adulterar prevalecieron, y sangres se tocaron con sangres.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
Por causa de esto, la tierra se seca, y todos los que viven en ella se consumen, así como los animales del campo y las aves del cielo, y los peces del mar. Todos están muriendo.
Por lo cual, se enlutará la tierra, y extenuaráse todo morador de ella, con las bestias del campo, y las aves del cielo: y aun los peces de la mar fallecerán.
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Pero nadie debe culpar a otro. Mi disputa es con ustedes, los sacerdotes, pues ustedes son los responsables.
Ciertamente hombre no contienda ni reprenda á hombre, porque tu pueblo es como los que resisten al sacerdote.
Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
“Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; for your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.
Por ello ustedes tropezarán a plena luz del día, y el profeta tropezará igual que ustedes por la noche, y yo destruiré a la madre de todos ustedes.
Caerás por tanto en el día, y caerá también contigo el profeta de noche; y á tu madre talaré.
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.
“Mi pueblo está muriendo porque no me conoce. Y como se niegan a conocerme, yo los aborrezco a ustedes como mis sacerdotes. Así como han olvidado mis enseñanzas, yo me olvidaré de sus hijos.
Mi pueblo fué talado, porque le faltó sabiduría. Porque tú desechaste la sabiduría, yo te echaré del sacerdocio: y pues que olvidaste la ley de tu Dios, también yo me olvidaré de tus hijos.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Cuantos más había, tanto más pecaban contra mí. Por lo tanto yo transformaré su gloria en vergüenza.

Ellos se alimentaban del pecado de mi pueblo, y estaban hambrientos de su inmoralidad.

Por lo tanto, al pueblo le ocurrirá lo mismo que a los sacerdotes: Los castigaré por lo que han hecho, y les pagaré por sus acciones.
Tal será el pueblo como el sacerdote: y visitaré sobre él sus caminos, y pagaréle conforme á sus obras.
And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
It will be like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.
Comerán, pero no se sentirán saciados; se entregarán a la prostitución, pero no prosperarán porque han abandonado al Señor para prostituirse con otros dioses.
Y comerán, mas no se hartarán; fornicarán, mas no se aumentarán: porque dejaron de atender á Jehová.
For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned listening to the LORD.
Ellos destruyen sus mentes con el vino viejo y el vino nuevo.
Fornicación, y vino, y mosto quitan el corazón.
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding.
“Mi pueblo pide consejo a sus ídolos de madera y sus cetros de adivinación les dan respuestas, ya que un espíritu de prostitución los lleva a la perdición. Así, prostituyéndose, han abandonado a su Dios.
Mi pueblo á su madero pregunta, y su palo le responde: porque espíritu de fornicaciones lo engañó, y fornicaron debajo de sus dioses.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.
Ofrecen sacrificios en lo alto de las montañas; queman incienso en las colinas bajo la apacible sombra de los árboles de roble, álamo y pistacho. Por eso tus hijas se han prostituido y tus nueras se han vuelto adúlteras.
Sobre las cabezas de los montes sacrificaron, é incensaron sobre los collados, debajo de encinas, y álamos, y olmos que tuviesen buena sombra: por tanto, vuestras hijas fornicarán, y adulterarán vuestras nueras.

No castigaré a tus hijas por prostituirse, ni a tus nueras por su adulterio, porque ustedes los hombres visitan rameras y hacen sacrificios con las prostitutas del templo. Un pueblo con falta de entendimiento termina en el desastre.
No visitaré sobre vuestras hijas cuando fornicaren, ni sobre vuestras nueras cuando adulteraren: porque ellos ofrecen con las rameras, y con las malas mujeres sacrifican: por tanto, el pueblo sin entendimiento caerá.
I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.
“Aunque tú, Israel, te has vuelto una prostituta, espero que Judá, no cometa la misma ofensa, y entre a Guilgal, ni vaya a Bet-Aven, ni jure diciendo: ‘el Señor vive’.

Si Israel se comporta como una vaca rebelde, ¿cómo podría el Señor cuidar de Israel como un cordero en una gran pradera?
Porque como becerra cerrera se apartó Israel: ¿apacentarálos ahora Jehová como á carneros en anchura?
For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow?
Efraín está encantado por ídolos, así que déjenlo en paz!
Ephraim es dado á ídolos; déjalo.
Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Ephraim is joined to idols. Leave him alone!
Cuando los líderes dejan de beber, se van y buscan prostitutas para acostarse con ellas. Se complacen más en sus actos inmorales que en el honor.
Su bebida se corrompió; fornicaron pertinazmente: sus príncipes amaron las dádivas, afrenta de ellos.
Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way.
Pero un viento se los llevará, y serán avergonzados por su adoración pagana”.
Atóla el viento en sus alas, y de sus sacrificios serán avergonzados.
The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.
