1Ese día los israelitas dirán: «¡Vengan, volvamos al Señor! Él es quien nos ha desgarrado, y él será quien nos sane.
2En tan sólo dos o tres días nos sanará por completo y entonces podremos vivir siempre bajo su protección. ¡No vacilemos en buscar al Señor!
3¡No nos cansemos de ir en busca del Señor! Si lo hacemos, podemos estar seguros de que él vendrá a nuestro encuentro. Eso es tan seguro como el hecho de que el sol alumbra cada día. Eso será así, tan seguro como el hecho de que la lluvia cae en el tiempo oportuno y riega la tierra».
4El Señor dice: «Efraín y Judá, ¿qué haré con ustedes? Pues su amor hacia mí es tan inconstante, se desvanece tan pronto, como lo hacen las nubes de la mañana y como desaparece como el rocío.
5Yo envié a mis profetas para advertirles del destino funesto que les espera; yo los he herido con la dureza de las palabras que les he enviado, incluso amenazándolos de muerte. Sepan que de repente, sin advertencia alguna, mi juicio realmente los matará como si fuera un rayo fulminante.
6Lo que más quiero de ustedes no son sus sacrificios rituales, sino que amen a Dios y a su prójimo; lo que más quiero de ustedes no son sus ofrendas, sino que me reconozcan y respeten como su Dios.
7Pero como Adán, han desobedecido mi convenio, han despreciado mi amor.
8»Galaad es una ciudad de gente malvada, las huellas de la violencia están por todas partes.
9Sus sacerdotes son como bandas de ladrones, que se esconden para sorprender y caer sobre sus víctimas; en el camino que lleva a Siquén cometen toda clase de maldades.
10»Sí, yo he visto una cosa horrible en Israel: Efraín me ha sido infiel y se ha ido tras la idolatría; Israel se ha corrompido por completo.
11»También para ti, Judá, tengo preparado tu castigo, cuando haya hecho que mi pueblo regrese a su tierra.

1VENID y volvámonos á Jehová: que él arrebató, y nos curará; hirió, y nos vendará.
2Darános vida después de dos días: al tercer día nos resucitará, y viviremos delante de él.
3Y conoceremos, y proseguiremos en conocer á Jehová: como el alba está aparejada su salida, y vendrá á nosotros como la lluvia, como la lluvia tardía y temprana á la tierra.
4¿Qué haré á ti, Ephraim? ¿Qué haré á ti, oh Judá? La piedad vuestra es como la nube de la mañana, y como el rocío que de madrugada viene.
5Por esta causa corté con los profetas, con las palabras de mi boca los maté; y tus juicios serán como luz que sale.
6Porque misericordia quise, y no sacrificio; y conocimiento de Dios más que holocaustos.
7Mas ellos, cual Adam, traspasaron el pacto: allí prevaricaron contra mí.
8Galaad, ciudad de obradores de iniquidad, ensuciada de sangre.
9Y como ladrones que esperan á algún hombre, así junta de sacerdotes mancomunadamente mata en el camino: porque ponen en efecto la abominación.
10En la casa de Israel he visto suciedad: allí fornicó Ephraim, se contaminó Israel:
11También Judá puso en ti una planta, habiendo yo vuelto la cautividad de mi pueblo.

1Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
4O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
5Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
6For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
7But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
8Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
9And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
10I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
11Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.

1“Come! Let’s return to the LORD; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds.
2After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.
3Let’s acknowledge the LORD. Let’s press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, the LORD will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.”
4“Ephraim, what shall I do to you? Judah, what shall I do to you? For your love is like a morning cloud, and like the dew that disappears early.
5Therefore I have cut them to pieces with the prophets; I killed them with the words of my mouth. Your judgments are like a flash of lightning.
6For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
7But they, like Adam, have broken the covenant. They were unfaithful to me there.
8Gilead is a city of those who work iniquity; it is stained with blood.
9As gangs of robbers wait to ambush a man, so the company of priests murder on the path toward Shechem, committing shameful crimes.
10In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing. There is prostitution in Ephraim. Israel is defiled.
11“Also, Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, when I restore the fortunes of my people.
