»¡Toquen la trompeta para alertar al pueblo! ¡Avísenle que ya viene el enemigo contra él! Sí, con la rapidez y fuerza de un águila el Señor viene contra su pueblo, porque no han cumplido su convenio y porque se han rebelado contra sus instrucciones.
PON á tu boca trompeta. Vendrá como águila contra la casa de Jehová, porque traspasaron mi pacto, y se rebelaron contra mi ley.
Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the LORD’s house, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
Ahora Israel implora, diciéndome: “¡Ayúdanos porque tú eres nuestro Dios!”.
A mí clamará Israel: Dios mío, te hemos conocido.
Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’
Pero es demasiado tarde. Israel ha rechazado el bien; por eso, sus enemigos la perseguirán.

Israel ha nombrado reyes y príncipes sin consultarme, que no cuentan con mi aprobación. Han usado su oro y su plata para fabricarse ídolos, los que los llevarán a la destrucción.
Ellos hicieron reyes, mas no por mí; constituyeron príncipes, mas yo no lo supe: de su plata y de su oro hicieron ídolos para sí, para ser talados.

»Samaria, yo rechazo tu becerro, ese ídolo que has hecho. ¡Mi cólera está que revienta contra ti! ¿Hasta cuándo seguirás en el extravío de tu idolatría? ¿Cuándo por fin te preocuparás por ser virtuosa?
Tu becerro, oh Samaria, te hizo alejar; encendióse mi enojo contra ellos, hasta que no pudieron alcanzar inocencia.
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
¿Cuándo vas a reconocer que ese becerro al que le rindes homenaje es sólo un objeto hecho por artesanos? ¡No es Dios! Por lo tanto será hecho pedazos.
Porque de Israel es, y artífice lo hizo; que no es Dios: por lo que en pedazos será deshecho el becerro de Samaria.
For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

»Ellos han sembrado viento y cosecharán torbellino. Sus tallos de trigo permanecen secos, no tienen granos; y si les llegaran a quedar algunos, los extranjeros se los comerán.
Porque sembraron viento, y torbellino segarán: no tendrán mies, ni el fruto hará harina; si la hiciere, extraños la tragarán.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

Israel ha sido destruida; está tirada entre las naciones como si fuera una olla rota.
Será tragado Israel: presto serán entre las gentes como vaso en que no hay contentamiento.

Pero aunque ella alquile amigos de muchas tierras, yo la enviaré al exilio. ¡Dentro de poco no contarán con reyes ni con jefes!

Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
»¡Efraín ha construido muchos altares, pero no son para rendirme homenaje a mí! ¡Son altares donde practican su maldad ofreciendo homenaje a sus ídolos!
Porque multiplicó Ephraim altares para pecar, tuvo altares para pecar.
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.
Aunque yo tuve el cuidado de entregarles por escrito mis instrucciones, ellos las consideraron como algo sin importancia.
Escribíle las grandezas de mi ley, y fueron tenidas por cosas ajenas.

Aunque ahora quisieran por fin rendirme homenaje solo a mí, yo no lo aceptaría. Más bien voy a exigirles cuentas por sus pecados y luego los castigaré. ¡Otra vez haré que sean esclavos de Egipto!
En los sacrificios de mis dones sacrificaron carne, y comieron: no los quiso Jehová: ahora se acordará de su iniquidad, y visitará su pecado; ellos se tornarán á Egipto.
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but the LORD doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
»Israel ha edificado grandes palacios; Judá ha construido grandes fortalezas de defensa para sus ciudades, pero se ha olvidado de su Hacedor. Por lo tanto, yo enviaré fuego sobre esos palacios y quemaré esas fortalezas».
Olvidó pues Israel á su Hacedor, y edificó templos, y Judá multiplicó ciudades fuertes: mas yo meteré fuego en sus ciudades, el cual devorará sus palacios.
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
