“Toquem a trombeta! Os inimigos estão chegando! Como uma águia, os inimigos atacam o povo de Deus, porque eles quebraram a aliança que fizeram comigo e desobedeceram às minhas leis.
PON á tu boca trompeta. Vendrá como águila contra la casa de Jehová, porque traspasaron mi pacto, y se rebelaron contra mi ley.
Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

Mas já é tarde demais! Israel, cheio de orgulho, desperdiçou suas oportunidades, e agora seus inimigos o perseguirão.

Os israelitas escolheram reis e príncipes sem a minha ordem. Com as próprias mãos fizeram imagens de ouro e de prata e as adoraram; por isso, não merecem a minha ajuda.

“Ó Samaria, lance fora esse bezerro — esse ídolo que você criou! A minha ira se acende contra você. Quanto tempo vai passar até aparecer um homem puro entre os seus habitantes?
Tu becerro, oh Samaria, te hizo alejar; encendióse mi enojo contra ellos, hasta que no pudieron alcanzar inocencia.
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
O bezerro vem de Israel. Este bezerro que vocês adoram foi feito por homens comuns. Esse bezerro não é Deus! Por isso, ele vai ser despedaçado!
Porque de Israel es, y artífice lo hizo; que no es Dios: por lo que en pedazos será deshecho el becerro de Samaria.

“Os israelitas semeiam vento e colhem tempestade! Não vai haver colheita. As espigas murcharão e morrerão, sem dar o alimento; se produzirem alguma coisa, os estrangeiros o devorarão!

“Israel está destruído. Seus pedaços estão espalhados entre as nações, como um vaso quebrado.
Será tragado Israel: presto serán entre las gentes como vaso en que no hay contentamiento.

“Embora tenham se vendido às nações, agora os ajuntarei. Mas eu vou castigar os israelitas e levá-los para o exílio, onde, por algum tempo, sofrerão opressão de um poderoso rei.
Aunque alquilen á las gentes, ahora las juntaré; y serán un poco afligidos por la carga del rey y de los príncipes.
Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
“O povo de Israel construiu muitos altares, mas não são altares para me adorar! São altares do pecado!
Porque multiplicó Ephraim altares para pecar, tuvo altares para pecar.
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

Mesmo que eu desse aos israelitas milhares de leis, eles diriam: ‘Isso não é para nós! As leis são para outras nações’.

En los sacrificios de mis dones sacrificaron carne, y comieron: no los quiso Jehová: ahora se acordará de su iniquidad, y visitará su pecado; ellos se tornarán á Egipto.

“Israel construiu grandes palácios. Judá construiu fortalezas para defender suas cidades. Mas eles se esqueceram do seu Criador! Por isso vou mandar fogo contra os palácios e incendiar as fortalezas”.
Olvidó pues Israel á su Hacedor, y edificó templos, y Judá multiplicó ciudades fuertes: mas yo meteré fuego en sus ciudades, el cual devorará sus palacios.
