1¡No te alegres, Israel! ¡No celebres como las demás naciones! Porque te has prostituido y has amado recibir la paga de prostitute en cada era donde se trilla el trigo.
2Tus eras y lagares no te alimentarán. La tierra no podrá producir el nuevo vino.
3No permanecerás en la tierra del Señor; en cambio Efraín volverá a Egipto y comerá alimentos inmundos en Asiria.
4Tú no podrás traer inguna ofrenda de vino al Señor. Ninguno de tus sacrificios le complacerá. Tus sacrificios serán como la comida de quien guarda luto: todos los que comen estarán impuros. Ustedes mismos comerán esta comida, pero no entrarán en la casa del Señor.
5¿Qué herán en los días de fiestas religiosas, y de otras festividades del Señor?
6Miren, se han ido por causa de la destrucción: Egito los reunirá y Menfis los sepultará. Gracias a su plata tienen un “tesoro valioso”. La maleza los poseerá, y los espinos crecerán sobre sus tiendas.
7¡Ha llegado la hora del castigo! ¡El día de la paga ha llegado! ¡Que lo sepa Israel! Ustedes dicen que el profeta es un tonto, que el hombre del Espíritu ha enloquecido, porque su maldad y hostilidad es grande.
8El Centinela de Efraín está con mi Dios. El profeta es como una trampa de aves en los caminos. Hay odio en la casa de su Dios
9porque se han corrompido hasta el límite, como en los tiempos de Guibeá. Él se acordará de su pecado, y castigará su maldad.
10Como encontrar uvas en el desierto, así fue como encontré a Israel. Cuando vi a sus antepasados, fue como ver los primeros frutos de la higuera. Pero cuando fueron a Baal Peor, se entregaron a ese ídolo abominable, y se volvieron tan inmundos como lo que aman.
11¡Escucha Efraín! Así como el ave que escapa y vuela lejos, así será tu gloria: no habrá nacimientos, embarazos ni concepciones.
12Incluso si lograsen concebir hijos, yo me encargaré de que no sobrevivan. ¡Grande es el desastre que vendrá sobre ti cuando yo me aleje!
13¡Escucha Efraín! Así como vi a Tiro plantado en una pradera, del mismo modo Efraín entregará a sus hijos al asesino.
14Dales, Señor… ¿Qué podrás darles? Dales vientres que aborten y senos secos.
15Toda su maldad comenzó en Guilgal, y desde entonces comencé a aborrecerlos. Los expulsaré de mi casa por su maldad. No los amaré más, porque todos sus líderes son rebeldes.
16Efraín, estás en ruinas, seco desde la raíz. No darás ningún fruto. Incluso si tienes hijos, yo destruiré a tu amada descendencia con masacre.
17Mi Dios te rechazará porque no lo has escuchado, y serás un pueblo de vagabundos sin hogar entre las naciones.

1NO te alegres, oh Israel, hasta saltar de gozo como los pueblos, pues has fornicado apartándote de tu Dios: amaste salario por todas las eras de trigo.
2La era y el lagar no los mantendrán; les fallará el mosto.
3No quedarán en la tierra de Jehová, sino que volverá Ephraim á Egipto, y á Asiria, donde comerán vianda inmunda.
4No derramarán vino á Jehová, ni él tomará contento en sus sacrificios; como pan de enlutados les serán á ellos: todos los que comieren de él, serán inmundos. Será pues el pan de ellos para sí mismos; no entrará en la casa de Jehová.
5¿Qué haréis el día de la solemnidad, y el día de la fiesta de Jehová?
6Porque, he aquí se fueron ellos á causa de la destrucción: Egipto los recogerá, Memphis los enterrará: espino poseerá por heredad lo deseable de su plata, ortiga crecerá en sus moradas.
7Vinieron los días de la visitación, vinieron los días de la paga; conocerálo Israel: necio el profeta, insensato el varón de espíritu, á causa de la multitud de tu maldad, y grande odio.
8Atalaya es Ephraim para con mi Dios: el profeta es lazo de cazador en todos sus caminos, odio en la casa de su Dios.
9Llegaron al profundo, corrompiéronse, como en los días de Gabaa: ahora se acordará de su iniquidad; visitará su pecado.
10Como uvas en el desierto hallé á Israel: como la fruta temprana de la higuera en su principio vi á vuestros padres. Ellos entraron á Baal-peor, y se apartaron para vergüenza, é hiciéronse abominables como aquello que amaron.
11Ephraim, cual ave volará su gloria desde el nacimiento, aun desde el vientre y desde la concepción.
12Y si llegaren á grandes sus hijos, quitarélos de entre los hombres, porque ¡ay de ellos también, cuando de ellos me apartare!
13Ephraim, según veo, es semejante á Tiro, asentada en lugar delicioso: mas Ephraim sacará sus hijos al matador.
14Dales, oh Jehová, lo que les has de dar: dales matriz expeliente, y enjutos pechos.
15Toda la maldad de ellos fué en Gilgal; allí, pues, les tomé aversión: por la malicia de sus obras echarélos de mi casa; no los amaré más; todos sus príncipes son desleales.
16Ephraim fué herido, secóse su cepa, no hará más fruto: aunque engendren, yo mataré lo deseable de su vientre.
17Mi Dios los desechará, porque ellos no le oyeron; y andarán errantes entre las gentes.

1Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.
2The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
3They shall not dwell in the LORD’s land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
4They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
5What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
6For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
7The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
8The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
11As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
12Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
14Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
16Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.
17My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
World English Bible
1Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.
2The threshing floor and the wine press won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her.
3They won’t dwell in the LORD’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
4They won’t pour out wine offerings to the LORD, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into the LORD’s house.
5What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
6For, behold, when they flee destruction, Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.
7The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
8A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
11As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no one with child, and no conception.
12Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.
14Give them—LORD what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds, I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.
16Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”
17My God will cast them away, because they didn’t listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
