para oprimir a los pobres en juicio y hacer violencia a los desvalidos de mi pueblo, para devorar cual presa a las viudas y saquear a los huérfanos!
¡AY de los que establecen leyes injustas, y determinando prescriben tiranía,

¿Qué haréis el día en que se os tomarán cuentas, y en la calamidad que viene amenazando de lejos? ¿A quién acudiréis para que os ayude? ¿Y en dónde dejaréis o de qué servirá vuestra grandeza,
Por apartar del juicio á los pobres, y por quitar el derecho á los afligidos de mi pueblo; por despojar las viudas, y robar los huérfanos!
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

para no doblar la cerviz a la cadena entre los esclavos y no caer entre los muertos? A pesar de todas estas cosas no está calmada la ira del Señor, sino que aún está levantado su brazo.
¿Y qué haréis en el día de la visitación? ¿y á quién os acogeréis que os ayude, cuando viniere de lejos el asolamiento? ¿y en dónde dejaréis vuestra gloria?
And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

¡Ay de Asur!, vara y bastón de mi furor; en su mano he puesto mi ira.
Sin mí se inclinarán entre los presos, y entre los muertos caerán. Ni con todo esto ha cesado su furor, antes todavía extendida su mano.

Lo enviaré contra un pueblo falto de fe, y contra un pueblo que ha provocado mi indignación; y le daré mis órdenes para que se lleve sus despojos, y lo entregue al saqueo, y lo reduzca a ser pisado como el lodo de las plazas.
Oh Assur, vara y bastón de mi furor: en su mano he puesto mi ira.
O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

Es verdad que él no lo pensará así, y que en su corazón no formará tal concepto; su corazón solamente pondrá la mira en destruir y exterminar no pocas naciones.
Mandaréle contra una gente fementida, y sobre el pueblo de mi ira le enviaré, para que quite despojos, y arrebate presa, y que lo ponga á ser hollado como lodo de las calles.
I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

Porque dirá:
Aunque él no lo pensará así, ni su corazón lo imaginará de esta manera; sino que su pensamiento será desarraigar y cortar gentes no pocas.

Así como ganó mi mano los reinos de varios ídolos, del mismo modo venceré los simulacros de los de Jerusalén y de Samaria.
¿No es Calno como Carchêmis, Hamath como Arphad, y Samaria como Damasco?
Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
Isn’t Calno like Carchemish? Isn’t Hamath like Arpad? Isn’t Samaria like Damascus?”
¿Acaso lo que hice ya con Samaria y con sus ídolos, no lo ejecutaré también con Jerusalén y con sus simulacros?
Como halló mi mano los reinos de los ídolos, siendo sus imágenes más que Jerusalem y Samaria;
As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

Pero luego que el Señor hubiere cumplido todas sus obras en el monte de Sión y en Jerusalén , él mismo tomará cuentas de las empresas del altivo corazón del rey asirio y de la jactancia de sus altivos ojos.
Como hice á Samaria y á sus ídolos, ¿no haré también así á Jerusalem y á sus ídolos?

Mas acontecerá que después que el Señor hubiere acabado toda su obra en el monte de Sión, y en Jerusalem, visitaré sobre el fruto de la soberbia del corazón del rey de Asiria, y sobre la gloria de la altivez de sus ojos.
Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

y el poderío de los pueblos fue respecto de mi valor como una nidada de pajarillos; y como se recogen del nido los huevos que han sido abandonados, así reuní yo bajo mi poder toda la tierra, y no hubo quien moviese un ala, ni abriese el pico, ni piase.

¿Pero y por ventura se gloriará el hacha contra el que corta con ella, o se llenará de soberbia la sierra contra el que la mueve? Eso es como si se levantara la vara contra el que la maneja, o se envaneciese el bastón que al cabo no es más que un palo.
Y halló mi mano como nido las riquezas de los pueblos; y como se cogen los huevos dejados, así me apoderé yo de toda la tierra; y no hubo quien moviese ala, ó abriese boca y graznase.

Por eso el soberano Señor de los ejércitos enviará la extenuación a sus robustos guerreros, y arderá debajo de sus galas una como hoguera de fuego que los consuma.
¿Gloriaráse el hacha contra el que con ella corta? ¿se ensoberbecerá la sierra contra el que la mueve? como si el bordón se levantase contra los que lo levantan; como si se levantase la vara: ¿no es leño?
Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
Should an ax brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.
Y la luz de Israel será el fuego, y su Santo la llama con que se encenderán y arderán las espinas y las zarzas de Asur en un solo día.
Por tanto el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos enviará flaqueza sobre sus gordos; y debajo de su gloria encenderá encendimiento, como ardor de fuego.
Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.

Y la gloria de este bosque y de este Carmelo será consumida en cuerpo y alma, y él, (Sennaquerib) huirá azorado.

Y los árboles que de esta selva quedaren, se podrán contar, por su corto número, y un niño podrá formar la lista de ellos.
La gloria de su bosque y de su campo fértil consumirá, desde el alma hasta la carne: y vendrá á ser como abanderado en derrota.

Y entonces será cuando los que quedaren de Israel, y los de la casa de Jacob que hayan escapado, no volverán a fiarse en el que los hiere, sino que sinceramente se apoyarán en el Señor, el Santo de Israel.
Y los árboles que quedaren en su bosque, serán en número que un niño los pueda contar.

Los residuos de Jacob , los residuos digo, se convertirán al Dios fuerte.
Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que los que hubieren quedado de Israel, y los que hubieren quedado de la casa de Jacob, nunca más estriben sobre el que los hirió; sino que se apoyarán con verdad en Jehová Santo de Israel.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

Porque aun cuando tu pueblo, oh Israel, fuese como la arena del mar, solamente los restos de él se convertirán; pero los restos que se salvaren de la destrucción, rebosarán en justicia.
Las reliquias se convertirán, las reliquias de Jacob, al Dios fuerte.

Porque destrucción y disminución hará el Señor Dios de los ejércitos en toda la tierra de Judea.
Porque si tu pueblo, oh Israel, fuere como las arenas de la mar, las reliquias de él se convertirán: la destrucción acordada rebosará justicia.
For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

Por tanto, esto dice el Señor Dios de los ejércitos: Pueblo mío que habitas en Sión, no tengas miedo del asirio; él te sacudirá con la vara, y alzará contra ti su bastón desde el camino que va a Egipto.
Pues el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos hará consumación y fenecimiento en medio de la tierra.
For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
For the Lord, GOD of Armies, will make a full end, and that determined, throughout all the earth.
Pero dentro de poco, muy en breve, mi enojo y mi furor provocado por sus maldades, llegará a su colmo.
Por tanto el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos dice así: Pueblo mío, morador de Sión, no temas de Assur. Con vara te herirá, y contra ti alzará su palo, á la manera de Egipto:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
Therefore the Lord, GOD of Armies, says, “My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.
Y el Señor Dios de los ejércitos levantará contra el asirio su brazo, y hará en él el estrago que hizo en los madianitas en la peña de Ored; y así como alzó su vara sobre el mar Rojo, del mismo modo la alzará sobre el camino de Egipto.
Mas de aquí á muy poco tiempo, se acabará el furor y mi enojo, para fenecimiento de ellos.
For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

Y aquel día será quitado de encima de tus hombros el peso de Asur, y su yugo de tu cerviz, y se pudrirá el yugo por la abundancia del aceite.
Y levantará Jehová de los ejércitos azote contra él, cual la matanza de Madián en la peña de Oreb: y alzará su vara sobre la mar, según hizo por la vía de Egipto.
And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
The LORD of Armies will stir up a scourge against him, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. His rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up like he did against Egypt.
Llegará el rey de Asiria hasta Ayat, pasará a Magrón, en Macmas depositará su carga.
Y acaecerá en aquel tiempo, que su carga será quitada de tu hombro, y su yugo de tu cerviz, y el yugo se empodrecerá por causa de la unción.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Pasarán a marchas forzadas, diciendo: En Gabaat plantaremos nuestros campamentos. Ramá está sobresaltada, Gabaat la de Saúl huye precipitadamente.
Vino hasta Ajad, pasó hasta Migrón; en Michmas contará su ejército:
He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:

Esfuerza tu grito, ¡oh ciudad de Gallim!; mira por ti, ¡oh Laisa!, y tú también, pobrecita Anatot.
Pasaron el vado; alojaron en Geba: Ramá tembló; Gabaa de Saúl huyó.
They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

Los de Medemena escaparon; esforzaos moradores de Gabim.
Grita en alta voz, hija de Galim; haz que se oiga hacia Lais, pobrecilla Anathoth.
Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
Cry aloud with your voice, daughter of Gallim! Listen, Laishah! You poor Anathoth!
Aún falta un día para llegar a hacer alto en Nobe; desde ahí levantará Sennaquerib su mano en ademán de amenaza contra el monte de la hija de Sión, contra el collado de Jerusalén .
Madmena se alborotó: los moradores de Gebim se juntarán.
Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
Madmenah is a fugitive. The inhabitants of Gebim flee for safety.
Pero he aquí que el soberano Señor de los ejércitos estrellará con ímpetu el vaso de tierra; y los de agigantada estatura serán desjarretados, y los sublimes serán abatidos.
Aún vendrá día cuando reposará en Nob: alzará su mano al monte de la hija de Sión, al collado de Jerusalem.
As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
Y la espesura del bosque será cortada con el hierro, y caerá el Líbano con sus altos cedros.
He aquí el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos desgajará el ramo con fortaleza: y los de grande altura serán cortados, y los altos serán humillados.
Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
Behold, the Lord, GOD of Armies, will lop the boughs with terror. The tall will be cut down, and the lofty will be brought low.
Y saldrá un renuevo del tronco de Jesé, y de su raíz se elevará una flor.
Y cortará con hierro la espesura del bosque, y el Líbano caerá con fortaleza.
