1Los refugiados de Moab que están en Selá envían corderos como oferta de alianza hacia el rey de Judá.
2Las mujeres de Moab son dejadas en los bajos del río Arnón, como aves sin nido.
3Los embajadores que van con el regalo a Jerusalén suplican que se les dé consejo y auxilio: ―Dennos refugio, protéjannos, no nos entreguen a nuestros enemigos.
4Dejen que nuestros desterrados moren entre ustedes, ocúltenlos de nuestros enemigos. Dios los recompensará por su bondad para con nosotros. Si dejan que los fugitivos de Moab se establezcan entre ustedes, una vez pasado el terror, Dios establecerá el trono de David para siempre, y en ese trono pondrá a un rey justo e íntegro.

6¿Es este el altivo Moab de quien tanto hemos oído? ¡Su arrogancia e insolencia ahora se han esfumado!
7Por eso llora toda Moab. Sí, Moab llorará por la abatida Quir Jaréset
8y por las abandonadas haciendas de Hesbón y los viñedos de Sibma. Los caudillos enemigos talaron las mejores vides; sus tropas llegaron hasta Jazer en el desierto y aun hasta el mar.
9Así que lloro y me lamento por Jazer y por los viñedos de Sibma. Correrá mi llanto por Hesbón y Elalé, porque ha caído la destrucción sobre sus frutos de verano y sus mieses.
10Huyó la alegría, huyó el júbilo de la cosecha. Ya no se escuchará el canto alegre en los viñedos, nunca más exprimirán sus pies las uvas para el vino en los lagares. Yo puse fin a todos los goces de la cosecha.
11¡Ay, lloro, lloro, lloro por Moab, y grande será mi pena por Quir Jaréset!
12El pueblo de Moab clamará angustiado a sus ídolos en la cumbre de las colinas, pero de nada les valdrá; llamarán a sus dioses en los templos de sus ídolos, pero nadie acudirá en su auxilio.
13Todo esto respecto a Moab ha sido dicho antes, pero ahora el Señor dice que dentro de tres años, sin falta, la gloria de Moab terminará y que pocos de entre su pueblo quedarán vivos.

1ENVIAD cordero al enseñoreador de la tierra, desde la Piedra del desierto al monte de la hija de Sión.
2Y será que cual ave espantada que se huye de su nido, así serán las hijas de Moab en los vados de Arnón.
3Reune consejo, haz juicio; pon tu sombra en medio del día como la noche: esconde los desterrados, no entregues á los que andan errantes.
4Moren contigo mis desterrados, oh Moab; séles escondedero de la presencia del destruidor: porque el atormentador fenecerá, el destruidor tendrá fin, el hollador será consumido de sobre la tierra.
5Y dispondráse trono en misericordia; y sobre él se sentará firmemente, en el tabernáculo de David, quien juzgue y busque el juicio, y apresure la justicia.
6Oído hemos la soberbia de Moab, por extremo soberbio; su soberbia y su arrogancia, y su altivez; mas sus mentiras no serán firmes.
7Por tanto aullará Moab, todo él aullará: gemiréis por los fundamentos de Kir-hareseth, en gran manera heridos.
8Porque los campos de Hesbón fueron talados, y las vides de Sibma; señores de gentes hollaron sus generosos sarmientos; habían llegado hasta Jazer, y extendídose por el desierto; extendiéronse sus plantas, pasaron la mar.
9Por lo cual lamentaré con lloro de Jazer la viña de Sibma; embriagarte hé de mis lágrimas, oh Hesbón y Eleale: porque sobre tus cosechas y sobre tu siega caerá la algazara.
10Quitado es el gozo y la alegría del campo fértil; en las viñas no cantarán, ni se regocijarán; no pisará vino en los lagares el pisador: la canción he hecho cesar.
11Por tanto mis entrañas sonarán como arpa acerca de Moab, y mi interior en orden á Kir-hareseth.
12Y acaecerá, que cuando Moab pareciere que está cansado sobre los altos, entonces vendrá á su santuario á orar, y no le valdrá.
13Esta es la palabra que pronunció Jehová sobre Moab desde aquel tiempo.
14Empero ahora Jehová ha hablado, diciendo: Dentro de tres años, como años de mozo de soldada, será abatida la gloria de Moab, con toda su grande multitud: y los residuos serán pocos, pequeños, y no fuertes.

1Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
2For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
3Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.
4Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
6We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.
7Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.
8For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.
9Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.
10And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
11Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.
12And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
13This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
14But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
World English Bible
1Send the lambs for the ruler of the land from Selah to the wilderness, to the mountain of the daughter of Zion.
2For it will be that as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.
3Give counsel! Execute justice! Make your shade like the night in the middle of the noonday! Hide the outcasts! Don’t betray the fugitive!
4Let my outcasts dwell with you! As for Moab, be a hiding place for him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortionist is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5A throne will be established in loving kindness. One will sit on it in truth, in the tent of David, judging, seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.
6We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud; even of his arrogance, his pride, and his wrath. His boastings are nothing.
7Therefore Moab will wail for Moab. Everyone will wail. You will mourn for the raisin cakes of Kir Hareseth, utterly stricken.
8For the fields of Heshbon languish with the vine of Sibmah. The lords of the nations have broken down its choice branches, which reached even to Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness. Its shoots were spread abroad. They passed over the sea.
9Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah. I will water you with my tears, Heshbon, and Elealeh: for on your summer fruits and on your harvest the battle shout has fallen.
10Gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there will be no singing, neither joyful noise. Nobody will tread out wine in the presses. I have made the shouting stop.
11Therefore my heart sounds like a harp for Moab, and my inward parts for Kir Heres.
12It will happen that when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, and comes to his sanctuary to pray, that he will not prevail.
13This is the word that the LORD spoke concerning Moab in time past.
14But now the LORD has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as a worker bound by contract would count them, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”
