1Esta es la visión que Isaías, hijo de Amoz, vio sobre Judá y Jerusalén en los reinados de Uzías, Jotam, Acaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá.
2¡Cielos, escuchen! ¡Tierra, presta atención! Porque el Señor ha hablado! Yo crié hijos, y los cuidé, pero ellos se han rebelado contra mí.
3El buey conoce a su dueño, y el asno conoce su comedero; pero mi pueblo no me conoce y no me entiende.
4¡Qué nación tan pecadora, un pueblo que lleva una carga de culpa, una generación malvada de hijos corruptos! Han abandonado al Señor y han despreciado al Santo de Israel. Se han convertido en extraños. Han retrocedido.
5¿Quieren ser castigados? ¿Van a seguir en rebelión? Su mente está dañada por completo, y su corazón está totalmente enfermo.
6Están heridos de pies a cabeza, magullados y adoloridos, con heridas abiertas que no han sido limpiadas ni vendadas, ni tratadas con aceite de oliva.
7Su país ha sido devastado, sus ciudades incendiadas, sus campos despojados por los extranjeros ante sus ojos, convirtiéndolo todo en un terreno valdío.
8La hija de Sión ha quedado como una choza en una viña, como una cabaña en un campo de pepinos, como una ciudad sitiada.
9Si el Señor Todopoderoso no nos hubiera dejado sobrevivir a algunos de nosotros, nos habríamos convertido en Sodoma y Gomorra.
10¡Escuchen la palabra del Señor, gobernantes de Sodoma! Presten atención a las instrucciones de nuestro Dios, pueblos de Gomorra.
11¿De qué me sirven todos sus abundantes sacrificios? pregunta el Señor. Estoy harto de sus holocaustos de los carneros y de la grasa de los animales sacrificados. No me agrada la sangre de toros, corderos y cabras.
12Cuando vienen a presentarse ante mí en el culto, ¿quién les ha pedido que se paseen con orgullo por mis atrios?
13No me traigan más ofrendas inútiles; su incienso me resulta ofensivo. Sus fiestas de luna nueva y sábado y sus convocaciones a reuniones religiosas especiales, no las soporto porque son perversas, así como sus asambleas solemnes.
14¡Detesto con todo mi ser sus fiestas anuales y de luna nueva! Se han convertido en una carga para mí: ¡ya no los soporto!
15Cuando alzan sus manos hacia mí para orar, miro hacia otro lado. Aunque hagan muchas oraciones, no les prestaré atención, porque sus manos están llenas de sangre.
16Lávense y límpiense. ¡Desháganse de sus pecados pues no quiero verlos! ¡Dejen de hacer el mal!
17Aprendan a hacer el bien; luchen por la justicia, condenen a los que oprimen a los demás; defiendan los derechos de los huérfanos, tomen medidas para defender a las viudas.
18Vengan y discutamos esto, dice el Señor. Aunque sus pecados sean como la grana, se volverán blancos como la nieve. Aunque sean rojos como el carmesí, se convertirán como la blanca lana.
19Si realmente desean esto, y si obedecen lo que les digo, entonces ustedes mismos comerán lo mejor del fruto de la tierra.
20Pero si son desafiantes y rebeldes, morirán por espada. ¡Esto es lo que ha declarado el Señor!
21¡La ciudad que solía ser fiel se ha convertido ahora en una prostituta! Antes actuaba bajo los principios de justicia y seguía lo correcto, pero ahora sólo viven en ella asesinos.
22Su plata se ha convertido en un desperdicio sin valor; su vino se ha aguado.
23Sus dirigentes son rebeldes, amigos de ladrones. A todos les gustan los sobornos y quieren recibir sobornos. No defienden los derechos de los huérfanos, y se niegan a ayudar a las viudas.
24Esto es lo que dice el Señor, el Señor Todopoderoso, el Poderoso de Israel: ¡Basta! ¡Me alegraré en castigar a mis enemigos, pagando a los que me odian!
25Me volveré contra ti. Te refinaré en un horno y eliminaré así todas las impurezas.
26Te daré buenos líderes como los que tenías antes, sabios consejeros como los que tenías al principio. Después de eso volverás a ser llamada la Ciudad de la Integridad, la Ciudad Fiel.
27Sión será rescatada por la justicia y por causa de los que se arrepienten y hacen el bien.
28Pero los rebeldes y los pecadores serán destruidos, y los que abandonen al Señor morirán.
29Ustedes se avergonzarán de cómo disfrutaban de su culto pagano en medio de los árboles de roble; se avergonzarán porque eligieron los jardines de placer de los ídolos.
30Como resultado, se convertirán en un roble cuyas hojas se han marchitado, un jardín seco que no tiene agua.
31Su pueblo fuerte se convertirá en ceniza, y su trabajo será como una chispa. Arderán juntos, y nadie podrá apagar las llamas.

1VISIÓN de Isaías hijo de Amoz, la cual vió sobre Judá y Jerusalem, en días de Uzzías, Jotham, Achâz y Ezechîas, reyes de Judá.
2Oid, cielos, y escucha tú, tierra; porque habla Jehová: Crié hijos, y engrandecílos, y ellos se rebelaron contra mí.
3El buey conoce á su dueño, y el asno el pesebre de su señor: Israel no conoce, mi pueblo no tiene entendimiento.
4¡Oh gente pecadora, pueblo cargado de maldad, generación de malignos, hijos depravados! Dejaron á Jehová, provocaron á ira al Santo de Israel, tornáronse atrás.
5¿Para qué habéis de ser castigados aún? todavía os rebelaréis. Toda cabeza está enferma, y todo corazón doliente.
6Desde la planta del pie hasta la cabeza no hay en él cosa ilesa, sino herida, hinchazón y podrida llaga: no están curadas, ni vendadas, ni suavizadas con aceite.
7Vuestra tierra está destruída, vuestras ciudades puestas á fuego, vuestra tierra delante de vosotros comida de extranjeros, y asolada como asolamiento de extraños.
8Y queda la hija de Sión como choza en viña, y como cabaña en melonar, como ciudad asolada.
9Si Jehová de los ejércitos no hubiera hecho que nos quedasen muy cortos residuos, como Sodoma fuéramos, y semejantes á Gomorra.
10Príncipes de Sodoma, oid la palabra de Jehová; escuchad la ley de nuestro Dios, pueblo de Gomorra.
11¿Para qué á mí, dice Jehová, la multitud de vuestros sacrificios? Harto estoy de holocaustos de carneros, y de sebo de animales gruesos: no quiero sangre de bueyes, ni de ovejas, ni de machos cabríos.
12¿Quién demandó esto de vuestras manos, cuando vinieseis á presentaros delante de mí, para hollar mis atrios?
13No me traigáis más vano presente: el perfume me es abominación: luna nueva y sábado, el convocar asambleas, no las puedo sufrir: son iniquidad vuestras solemnidades.
14Vuestras lunas nuevas y vuestras solemnidades tiene aborrecidas mi alma: me son gravosas; cansado estoy de llevarlas.
15Cuando extendiereis vuestras manos, yo esconderé de vosotros mis ojos: asimismo cuando multiplicareis la oración, yo no oiré: llenas están de sangre vuestras manos.
16Lavad, limpiaos; quitad la iniquidad de vuestras obras de ante mis ojos; dejad de hacer lo malo:
17Aprended á hacer bien; buscad juicio, restituid al agraviado, oid en derecho al huérfano, amparad á la viuda.
18Venid luego, dirá Jehová, y estemos á cuenta: si vuestros pecados fueren como la grana, como la nieve serán emblanquecidos: si fueren rojos como el carmesí, vendrán á ser como blanca lana.
19Si quisiereis y oyereis, comeréis el bien de la tierra:
20Si no quisiereis y fuereis rebeldes, seréis consumidos á espada: porque la boca de Jehová lo ha dicho.
21¿Cómo te has tornado ramera, oh ciudad fiel? Llena estuvo de juicio, en ella habitó equidad; mas ahora, homicidas.
22Tu plata se ha tornado escorias, tu vino mezclado está con agua.
23Tus príncipes, prevaricadores y compañeros de ladrones: todos aman las dádivas, y van tras las recompensas: no oyen en juicio al huérfano, ni llega á ellos la causa de la viuda.
24Por tanto, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos, el Fuerte de Israel: Ea, tomaré satisfacción de mis enemigos, vengaréme de mis adversarios:
25Y volveré mi mano sobre ti, y limpiaré hasta lo más puro tus escorias, y quitaré todo tu estaño:
26Y restituiré tus jueces como al principio, y tus consejeros como de primero: entonces te llamarán Ciudad de justicia, Ciudad fiel.
27Sión con juicio será rescatada, y los convertidos de ella con justicia.
28Mas los rebeldes y pecadores á una serán quebrantados, y los que dejan á Jehová serán consumidos.
29Entonces os avergonzarán los olmos que amasteis, y os afrentarán los bosques que escogisteis.
30Porque seréis como el olmo que se le cae la hoja, y como huerto que le faltan las aguas.
31Y el fuerte será como estopa, y lo que hizo como centella; y ambos serán encendidos juntamente, y no habrá quien apague.

1The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
4Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
5Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
7Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
9Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
10Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
11To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
14Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
15And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
16Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
21How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
22Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
23Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
24Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
25And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
27Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
28And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
29For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
30For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
31And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

1The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for the LORD has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled against me.
3The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel doesn’t know. My people don’t consider.”
4Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.
5Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it, but wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, bandaged, or soothed with oil.
7Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.
9Unless the LORD of Armies had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom. We would have been like Gomorrah.
10Hear the LORD’s word, you rulers of Sodom! Listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah!
11“What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?”, says the LORD. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.
