Este es el mensaje de Dios para Tiro: ¡Lloren, naves de Tarsis que regresan de tierras lejanas! ¡Lloren por su puerto, porque ha desaparecido! Los rumores que oyeron en Chipre eran verdaderos.
CARGA de Tiro. Aullad, naves de Tarsis, porque destruída es hasta no quedar casa, ni entrada: de la tierra de Chîttim les es revelado.

Sólo el silencio de muerte reina por todas partes. Hay silencio en donde antes existía su agitado puerto, cuando estaba lleno de naves de Sidón que traían mercancías del otro lado del océano, desde Egipto y de las orillas del Nilo. Tú eras el emporio del mundo.
Callad, moradores de la isla, mercader de Sidón, que pasando la mar te henchían.
Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

Su provisión era de las sementeras que crecen con las muchas aguas del Nilo, de la mies del río. Fué también feria de gentes.
And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.
On great waters, the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue. She was the market of nations.
Avergüénzate, Sidón, fortaleza del mar, porque has quedado sin hijos.
Avergüénzate, Sidón, porque la mar, la fortaleza de la mar habló, diciendo: Nunca estuve de parto, ni parí, ni crié mancebos, ni levanté vírgenes.
Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

Cuando Egipto se entere, tendrá gran dolor.
En llegando la fama á Egipto, tendrán dolor de las nuevas de Tiro.
As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

Pasaos á Tarsis; aullad, moradores de la isla.

Esta silenciosa ruina es lo que queda de la que un día fue su fecunda tierra. ¡Qué grande fue tu historia! ¡Pensar en todos los colonos que enviaste a tierras lejanas!
¿No era ésta vuestra ciudad alegre, su antigüedad de muchos días? Sus pies la llevarán á peregrinar lejos.
Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.

¡El Señor Todopoderoso lo ha hecho para abatir tu orgullo y para mostrar su desprecio por toda arrogante grandeza humana!
Jehová de los ejércitos lo decretó, para envilecer la soberbia de toda gloria; y para abatir todos los ilustres de la tierra.

Pasa cual río de tu tierra, oh hija de Tarsis; porque no tendrás ya más fortaleza.
Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.
Pass through your land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish. There is no restraint any more.
El Señor extiende su mano sobre los mares, hace temblar los reinos de la tierra. El Señor ha hablado contra esta gran ciudad mercantil, para destruir su arrogante fortaleza.
Extendió su mano sobre la mar, hizo temblar los reinos: Jehová mandó sobre Canaán que sus fuerzas sean debilitadas.
He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. The LORD has ordered the destruction of Canaan’s strongholds.
Él dice: Nunca más te regocijarás ni tendrás vigor. ¡Oh deshonrada virgen hija de Sidón, aunque huyas a Chipre no hallarás reposo!
Y dijo: No te alegrarás más, oh tú, oprimida virgen hija de Sidón. Levántate para pasar á Chîttim; y aun allí no tendrás reposo.
And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.
He said, “You shall rejoice no more, you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim. Even there you will have no rest.”
Tiro será echada a las fieras por los babilonios, no por los asirios. Aquellos la asediarán, arrasarán sus palacios y la convertirán en montón de ruinas.
Mira la tierra de los Caldeos; este pueblo no era; Assur la fundó para los que habitaban en el desierto: levantaron sus fortalezas, edificaron sus palacios; él la convirtió en ruinas.
Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

Setenta años yacerá Tiro en el olvido. Luego en los días de otro rey, la ciudad resucitará. Entonará dulces cantos como la ramera que después de largo tiempo ausente de sus amantes, vuelve a recorrer las calles en su busca y ellos la recuerdan.
Y acontecerá en aquel día, que Tiro será puesta en olvido por setenta años, como días de un rey. Después de los setenta años, cantará Tiro canción como de ramera.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
It will come to pass in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. After the end of seventy years it will be to Tyre like in the song of the prostitute.

Toma arpa, y rodea la ciudad, oh ramera olvidada: haz buena melodía, reitera la canción, porque tornes en memoria.
Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

Sí, después de setenta años el Señor revivirá a Tiro, pero esta no habrá cambiado; volverá a sus antiguas maldades en todo el mundo.
Y acontecerá, que al fin de los setenta años visitará Jehová á Tiro: y tornaráse á su ganancia, y otra vez fornicará con todos los reinos de la tierra sobre la haz de la tierra.
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
It will happen after the end of seventy years that the LORD will visit Tyre. She will return to her wages, and will play the prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world on the surface of the earth.
Sin embargo ¡día lejano vendrá en que sus negocios rendirán fruto para el Señor! No estarán atesorados, sino que entonces se emplearán para obtener buen alimento y fina ropa para los sacerdotes del Señor.
Mas su negociación y su ganancia será consagrada á Jehová: no se guardará ni se atesorará, porque su negociación será para los que estuvieren delante de Jehová, para que coman hasta hartarse, y vistan honradamente.
And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
