¡AY de los hijos que se apartan, dice Jehová, para tomar consejo, y no de mí; para cobijarse con cubierta, y no de mi espíritu, añadiendo pecado á pecado!

Anuncio pesado contra las bestias de carga del mediodía. Van por tierra de tribulación y de angustia (de donde salen la leona y el león, la víbora y la serpiente que vuela) llevando sobre lomos de asnos sus riquezas, y sus tesoros sobre el dorso de los camellos, a un pueblo que no podrá ayudarles.
Se avergonzarán todos del pueblo que no les aprovechará, ni los socorrerá, ni les traerá provecho; antes les será para vergüenza, y aun para oprobio.

Porque inútil y en vano será el auxilio que les preste Egipto; por lo mismo clamé yo sobre eso, diciendo: No es más que soberbia, no te muevas.

Que este pueblo es rebelde, hijos mentirosos, hijos que no quisieron oir la ley de Jehová;

Quitadnos de delante de los ojos este modo de obrar según la ley; alejad de nosotros tal sistema de vida; no nos vengáis siempre con que el Santo de Israel dice o manda.
Que dicen á los videntes: No veáis; y á los profetas: No nos profeticéis lo recto, decidnos cosas halagüeñas, profetizad mentiras;

por lo mismo esta maldad será para vosotros como un portillo en una alta muralla, que está para caer, y preguntan por él, y del cual se origina la ruina repentina en la hora menos pensada;
Por tanto el Santo de Israel dice así: Porque desechasteis esta palabra, y confiasteis en violencia y en iniquidad, y en ello os habéis apoyado;

Por tanto os será este pecado como pared abierta que se va á caer, y como corcova en alto muro, cuya caída viene súbita y repentinamente.

Porque el Señor Dios, el Santo de Israel dice: Si os volviereis y os estuviereis quietos, seréis salvos; en la quietud y en la esperanza estará vuestra fortaleza. Mas vosotros no lo quisisteis hacer;
Y quebrarálo como se quiebra un vaso de alfarero, que sin misericordia lo hacen menuzos; tanto, que entre los pedazos no se halla tiesto para traer fuego del hogar, ó para coger agua de la poza.

El pueblo de Sión morará en Jerusalén ; enjugarás tus lágrimas, ¡oh pueblo fiel! El Señor, apiadándose de ti, usará contigo de misericordia; al momento que oyere la voz de tu clamor, te responderá benigno.
Empero Jehová esperará para tener piedad de vosotros, y por tanto será ensalzado teniendo de vosotros misericordia: porque Jehová es Dios de juicio: bienaventurados todos los que le esperan.
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Y antes te dará el Señor pan de dolor y agua de tribulación; pero después hará que jamás se aleje de ti tu maestro, y tus ojos estarán viendo siempre a tu doctor.
Ciertamente el pueblo morará en Sión, en Jerusalem: nunca más llorarás; el que tiene misericordia se apiadará de ti; en oyendo la voz de tu clamor te responderá.

Escuchen tus oídos sus palabras, cuando yendo tras de ti te grite diciendo: Este es el camino, andad por él; y no torzáis ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda.
Bien que os dará el Señor pan de congoja y agua de angustia, con todo, tus enseñadores nunca más te serán quitados, sino que tus ojos verán tus enseñadores.

Entonces desecharás como cosas profanas esas láminas de plata que cubren tus ídolos; y los preciosos vestidos de tus estatuas de oro; y los arrojarás lejos de ti como el lienzo más sucio de una mujer inmunda. ¡Fuera de aquí!, les dirás.
Entonces tus oídos oirán á tus espaldas palabra que diga: Este es el camino, andad por él; y no echéis á la mano derecha, ni tampoco torzáis á la mano izquierda.
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
Y el Señor enviará lluvia a tus sementeras; en cualquier parte de la tierra en que hayas sembrado, las mieses darán abundante y rico trigo; y al mismo tiempo hallarán tus corderos abundantes y dilatados pastos en tus heredades.
Entonces profanarás la cobertura de tus esculturas de plata, y la vestidura de tu vaciadizo de oro: las apartarás como trapo de menstruo: ¡Sal fuera! les dirás.
Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

Y tus bueyes y asnos que trabajan la tierra, comerán el pienso mezclado con variedad de granos, del modo que vienen aventados de la era, o limpios de paja.
Entonces dará el Señor lluvia á tu sementera, cuando la tierra sembrares; y pan del fruto de la tierra; y será abundante y pingüe; tus ganados en aquel tiempo serán apacentados en anchas dehesas.
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

Y de todo monte alto y de todo collado elevado correrán arroyos de fértiles aguas el día aquel en que haya gran mortandad, cuando hayan caído las torres.
Tus bueyes y tus asnos que labran la tierra, comerán grano limpio, el cual será aventado con pala y criba.

La luz de la luna será la luz del sol, y la del sol será siete veces mayor que sería la luz reunida de siete días; aquel día en que el Señor haya vendado la herida de su pueblo, y sanado la abierta llaga.
Y sobre todo monte alto, y sobre todo collado subido, habrá ríos y corrientes de aguas el día de la gran matanza, cuando caerán las torres.

Mira que viene, se oye ya allá a lo lejos el Nombre o majestad del Señor; está su saña encendida e insoportable; llenos de indignación sus labios, y como fuego devorador su lengua.
Y la luz de la luna será como la luz del sol, y la luz del sol siete veces mayor, como la luz de siete días, el día que soldará Jehová la quebradura de su pueblo, y curará la llaga de su herida.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Es su respiración como un torrente impetuoso (cuya agua llega hasta la garganta) para aniquilar las naciones impías, y destrozar el freno del error, o el poder infernal, que sujetaba las quijadas de los pueblos.
He aquí que el nombre de Jehová viene de lejos: su rostro encendido, y grave de sufrir; sus labios llenos de ira, y su lengua como fuego que consume;

Vosotros entonaréis un cántico como en la noche de la santa solemnidad de la Pascua ; y la alegría de vuestro corazón será como la del que se sube, al son de la flauta, a presentarse sobre el monte del Señor, al templo del Dios fuerte de Israel.
Y su aliento, cual torrente que inunda: llegará hasta el cuello, para zarandear las gentes con criba de destrucción; y el freno estará en las quijadas de los pueblos, haciéndoles errar.
And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction. A bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.
Y hará el Señor que se oiga su majestuosa voz, y que se conozca su terrible brazo en medio de su ira amenazadora y de su fuego devorador; lo arrasará todo con tempestades y pedriscos.
Vosotros tendréis canción, como en noche en que se celebra pascua; y alegría de corazón, como el que va con flauta para venir al monte de Jehová, al Fuerte de Israel.
Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

Porque a la voz del Señor quedará temblando el asirio, herido con la vara de la divina venganza,
Y Jehová hará oir su voz potente, y hará ver el descender de su brazo, con furor de rostro, y llama de fuego consumidor; con dispersión, con avenida, y piedra de granizo.

Y en todo paso habrá madero fundado, que Jehová hará hincar sobre él con tamboriles y vihuelas, cuando con batallas de altura peleará contra ellos.
And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which the LORD will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.
¡Ay de aquellos que van a buscar socorro en Egipto, poniendo la esperanza en sus caballos, y confiando en sus muchos carros de guerra, y en su caballería, por ser muy fuerte; y no han puesto su confianza en el Santo de Israel ni han recurrido al Señor!
Porque Topheth ya de tiempo está diputada y aparejada para el rey, profunda y ancha; cuyo foco es de fuego, y mucha leña; el soplo de Jehová, como torrente de azufre, la enciende.
For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, it is prepared for the king. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. The LORD’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
