PORQUE he aquí que el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos quita de Jerusalem y de Judá el sustentador y el fuerte, todo sustento de pan y todo socorro de agua;

Los reyes de Israel serán como niñitos y gobernarán infantilmente.
Y pondréles mozos por príncipes, y muchachos serán sus señores.
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

Y reinará la peor de las anarquías: cada cual pisoteará a su prójimo, el vecino luchará contra su vecino, los jóvenes se rebelarán contra la autoridad, los delincuentes se reirán de las personas honorables.
Y el pueblo hará violencia los unos á los otros, cada cual contra su vecino: el mozo se levantará contra el viejo, y el villano contra el noble.
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

En aquellos días un hombre dirá a su hermano: «Tú tienes ropa de más; reina pues sobre nosotros y encárgate de este desorden».
Cuando alguno trabare de su hermano, de la familia de su padre, y le dijere, Que vestir tienes, tú serás nuestro príncipe, y sea en tu mano esta ruina;
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, “You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.”
«¡No!», responderá aquél. «¡Nada puedo hacer! No tengo ni comida ni ropa de sobra. ¡No me metas en esto!».
El jurará aquel día, diciendo: No tomaré ese cuidado; porque en mi casa ni hay pan, ni qué vestir: no me hagáis príncipe del pueblo.
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

La administración civil de Israel estará en completa ruina porque los judíos han hablado contra su Señor y no quieren adorarlo, ofenden su gloria.
Pues arruinada está Jerusalem, y Judá ha caído; porque la lengua de ellos y sus obras han sido contra Jehová, para irritar los ojos de su majestad.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

Hasta la mirada de sus rostros los traiciona y pone de manifiesto su culpa. Y se vanaglorian de que su pecado es igual al pecado de Sodoma. ¡Ni vergüenza les da! ¡Qué catástrofe! Se han acarreado su propia condenación.
La apariencia del rostro de ellos los convence: que como Sodoma predican su pecado, no lo disimulan. ¡Ay del alma de ellos! porque allegaron mal para sí.
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They don’t hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought disaster upon themselves.
Pero todo le saldrá bien al justo. Díganle: «¡Qué hermosa recompensa te espera!».
Decid al justo que le irá bien: porque comerá de los frutos de sus manos.
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.
Pero al malvado díganle: «Tu condenación es segura. También tú recibirás la paga que mereces. Ya viene el castigo que te has ganado».
¡Ay del impío! mal le irá: porque según las obras de sus manos le será pagado.
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them, for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.
¡Oh pueblo mío! ¿Acaso no ves qué necios gobernantes tienes? ¡Débiles como mujeres, necios como chicuelos jugando a que son reyes! ¿Dirigentes? ¡No; guías ineptos! Por senda florida los llevan a la destrucción.
Los exactores de mi pueblo son muchachos, y mujeres se enseñorearon de él. Pueblo mío, los que te guían te engañan, y tuercen la carrera de tus caminos.
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

¡Se levanta el Señor! Es el gran fiscal que presenta la acusación contra su pueblo.
Jehová está en pie para litigar, y está para juzgar los pueblos.
The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

Los primeros que caerán bajo su ira serán los consejeros y los príncipes, porque han defraudado a los pobres. Han llenado sus graneros con el trigo robado a los indefensos campesinos.
Jehová vendrá á juicio contra los ancianos de su pueblo y contra sus príncipes; porque vosotros habéis devorado la viña, y el despojo del pobre está en vuestras casas.
The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

«¿Cómo se atreven a moler a mi pueblo así en el polvo?», les dirá el Señor Todopoderoso.
¿Qué pensáis vosotros que majáis mi pueblo, y moléis las caras de los pobres? dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
Luego juzgará a las altivas mujeres judías, que orgullosas pasan contoneándose con sus pulseras tintineantes en los tobillos, con ojos lascivos que recorren la multitud para atraerse la mirada de los hombres.
Asimismo dice Jehová: Por cuanto las hijas de Sión se ensoberbecen, y andan cuellierguidas y los ojos descompuestos; cuando andan van danzando, y haciendo son con los pies:
Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Moreover the LORD said, “Because the daughters of Zion are arrogant, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking daintily as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet;
¡Tiña les va a mandar el Señor como adorno a sus cabezas! El Señor exhibirá la desnudez de ellas a los ojos de todos.
Por tanto, pelará el Señor la mollera de las hijas de Sión, y Jehová descubrirá sus vergüenzas.
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and the LORD will make their scalps bald.”
No se oirá más el orgulloso tintineo al paso de ellas, porque el Señor las desnudará de su belleza artificiosa y sus adornos,
Aquel día quitará el Señor el atavío de los calzados, y las redecillas, y las lunetas;
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, the headbands, the crescent necklaces,
de sus collares, pulseras y velos de sedoso tul.
Los collares, y los joyeles, y los brazaletes;
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
the earrings, the bracelets, the veils,
Se acabaron las chalinas y las cadenas para los tobillos, las cintas para el cabello, los aretes y los perfumes,
Las escofietas, y los atavíos de las piernas, los partidores del pelo, los pomitos de olor, y los zarcillos;
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume containers, the charms,
los anillos y las joyas,
Los anillos, y los joyeles de las narices;
The rings, and nose jewels,
the signet rings, the nose rings,
los vestidos de fiesta, las batas de casa, los sombreritos, las peinetas y los bolsos,
Las ropas de remuda, los mantoncillos, los velos, y los alfileres;
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses,
los espejos, la linda ropa interior, los hermosos vestidos y velos.
Los espejos, los pañizuelos, las gasas, y los tocados.
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
the hand mirrors, the fine linen garments, the tiaras, and the shawls.
En vez de exhalar dulce perfume, tendrán pestilencia; en vez de cinturón usarán cuerdas; el bien cuidado cabello se les caerá; vestirán saco en lugar de vestidos. Toda su belleza se esfumará; les quedará únicamente vergüenza y deshonor.
Y será que en lugar de los perfumes aromáticos vendrá hediondez; y desgarrón en lugar de cinta; y calvez en lugar de la compostura del cabello; y en lugar de faja ceñimiento de saco; y quemadura en vez de hermosura.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.
Sus maridos morirán en batalla y ellas, desoladas, se sentarán en tierra llorando.
Tus varones caerán á cuchillo, y tu fuerza en la guerra.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.

Sus puertas se entristecerán y enlutarán, y ella, desamparada, sentaráse en tierra.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
