PORQUE he aquí que el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos quita de Jerusalem y de Judá el sustentador y el fuerte, todo sustento de pan y todo socorro de agua;
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,

del capitán de cincuenta hombres y del varón de aspecto venerable, y del consejero, y del artífice sabio, y del hombre prudente en el lenguaje místico.
El valiente y el hombre de guerra, el juez y el profeta, el adivino y el anciano;
The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder,
Y les dará por príncipes muchachos, y serán dominados por hombres afeminados.
El capitán de cincuenta, y el hombre de respeto, y el consejero, y el artífice excelente, y el hábil orador.
The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

Y el pueblo se arrojará con violencia, hombre contra hombre, y cada uno contra su prójimo. Se alzará el joven contra el anciano, y el plebeyo contra el noble.
Y pondréles mozos por príncipes, y muchachos serán sus señores.
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

Sucederá que uno asirá por el brazo a su hermano, criado en la familia de su padre, diciéndole: Oye, tú estás bien vestido: Sé nuestro príncipe, ampáranos en esta ruina.
Y el pueblo hará violencia los unos á los otros, cada cual contra su vecino: el mozo se levantará contra el viejo, y el villano contra el noble.
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

El entonces le responderá: Yo no soy médico; y en mi casa no hay qué comer ni con qué vestir; no queráis hacerme príncipe del pueblo.
Cuando alguno trabare de su hermano, de la familia de su padre, y le dijere, Que vestir tienes, tú serás nuestro príncipe, y sea en tu mano esta ruina;
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, “You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.”
Pues se va arruinando Jerusalén y se pierde Judá, por cuanto su lengua y sus designios son contra el Señor, hasta irritar los ojos de su majestad.
El jurará aquel día, diciendo: No tomaré ese cuidado; porque en mi casa ni hay pan, ni qué vestir: no me hagáis príncipe del pueblo.
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

El semblante descarado que presentan da testimonio contra ellos; pues, como los de Sodoma, hacen alarde de su pecado, y no lo encubren: ¡Ay del alma de ellos!, porque se les dará el castigo merecido.
Pues arruinada está Jerusalem, y Judá ha caído; porque la lengua de ellos y sus obras han sido contra Jehová, para irritar los ojos de su majestad.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

Dad al varón justo la enhorabuena, porque él comerá o gozará del fruto de sus buenas obras.
La apariencia del rostro de ellos los convence: que como Sodoma predican su pecado, no lo disimulan. ¡Ay del alma de ellos! porque allegaron mal para sí.
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They don’t hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought disaster upon themselves.
¡Ay del impío maléfico!, porque se le pagará según merecen sus acciones.
Decid al justo que le irá bien: porque comerá de los frutos de sus manos.
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.
Mi pueblo ha sido despojado por sus regidores, y es gobernado por mujeres. Pueblo mío, los que te llaman bienaventurado, ésos son los que te traen engañado, y destruyen el camino que tú debes seguir.
¡Ay del impío! mal le irá: porque según las obras de sus manos le será pagado.
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them, for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.
El Señor se presenta para hacer justicia, se presenta para juzgar a los pueblos.
Los exactores de mi pueblo son muchachos, y mujeres se enseñorearon de él. Pueblo mío, los que te guían te engañan, y tuercen la carrera de tus caminos.
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

El Señor entrará en juicio con los ancianos de su pueblo y con sus príncipes. Porque vosotros sois, les dirá , los que habéis devorado mi viña, y en vuestra casa están las rapiñas hechas al pobre.
Jehová está en pie para litigar, y está para juzgar los pueblos.
The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

Y ¿por qué motivo despedazáis mi pueblo, y deshacéis a golpes los rostros de los pobres, dice el Señor Dios de los ejércitos?
Jehová vendrá á juicio contra los ancianos de su pueblo y contra sus príncipes; porque vosotros habéis devorado la viña, y el despojo del pobre está en vuestras casas.
The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

Y el Señor dijo también: Por cuanto se han empinado las hijas de Sión, y andan paseando con el cuello erguido, guiñando los ojos, y haciendo gestos con sus manos y ruido con sus pies, y caminan con pasos afectados:
¿Qué pensáis vosotros que majáis mi pueblo, y moléis las caras de los pobres? dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
Raerá el Señor la cabeza de las hijas de Sión, y las despojará de sus cabellos.
Asimismo dice Jehová: Por cuanto las hijas de Sión se ensoberbecen, y andan cuellierguidas y los ojos descompuestos; cuando andan van danzando, y haciendo son con los pies:
Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Moreover the LORD said, “Because the daughters of Zion are arrogant, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking daintily as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet;
Aquel día les quitará el Señor el adorno del calzado, y las lunetas,
Por tanto, pelará el Señor la mollera de las hijas de Sión, y Jehová descubrirá sus vergüenzas.
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

y los collares de perlas, y los joyeles, y los brazaletes, y las escofietas,
Aquel día quitará el Señor el atavío de los calzados, y las redecillas, y las lunetas;
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, the headbands, the crescent necklaces,
y los partidores del pelo, y las ligas, y las cadenillas, y los pomitos de olor, y los zarcillos,
Los collares, y los joyeles, y los brazaletes;
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
the earrings, the bracelets, the veils,
y los anillos, y las piedras preciosas que cuelgan sobre la frente,
Las escofietas, y los atavíos de las piernas, los partidores del pelo, los pomitos de olor, y los zarcillos;
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume containers, the charms,
y la muda de vestidos, y los mantos, y las gasas, y los preciosos alfileres,
Los anillos, y los joyeles de las narices;
The rings, and nose jewels,
the signet rings, the nose rings,
y los espejos, y los finos lienzos, y las cintas, y los vestidos de verano;
Las ropas de remuda, los mantoncillos, los velos, y los alfileres;
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses,
y en lugar de olores suaves tendrán la hediondez, y por cinturón una cuerda, y en lugar de cabellos rizados, la calva, y reemplazará un cilicio la faja de los pechos.
Los espejos, los pañizuelos, las gasas, y los tocados.
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
the hand mirrors, the fine linen garments, the tiaras, and the shawls.
Tus más gallardos varones caerán también al filo de la espada, y tus campeones quedarán tendidos en el campo de batalla.
Y será que en lugar de los perfumes aromáticos vendrá hediondez; y desgarrón en lugar de cinta; y calvez en lugar de la compostura del cabello; y en lugar de faja ceñimiento de saco; y quemadura en vez de hermosura.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.
Y las puertas de Jerusalén , desiertas, estarán cubiertas de tristeza y de luto, y ella desolada, estará abatida por el suelo.
Tus varones caerán á cuchillo, y tu fuerza en la guerra.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

Y aquel día echarán mano de un solo hombre siete o muchas mujeres diciendo: Nosotras comeremos nuestro pan, y con nuestras ropas nos vestiremos, basta que nos des tu nombre, o seas esposo nuestro; líbranos de nuestro oprobio.
Sus puertas se entristecerán y enlutarán, y ella, desamparada, sentaráse en tierra.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
