CONSOLAOS, consolaos, pueblo mío, dice vuestro Dios.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
“Hablen al corazón de Jerusalén y anúncienle que su tiempo de angustia ha terminado, que su pecado ha sido perdonado, y que ya ha recibido de manos de Yahvé el doble por todos sus pecados”.
Hablad al corazón de Jerusalem: decidle á voces que su tiempo es ya cumplido, que su pecado es perdonado; que doble ha recibido de la mano de Jehová por todos sus pecados.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.

Una voz clama: “¡Preparen en el desierto el camino para Yahvé! ¡Hagan una calzada recta en la estepa para nuestro Dios!
Voz que clama en el desierto: Barred camino á Jehová: enderezad calzada en la soledad á nuestro Dios.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
Todo valle será rellenado, y todo monte y colina será nivelado. El terreno escabroso se volverá plano, y las laderas se harán llanura.
Todo valle sea alzado, y bájese todo monte y collado; y lo torcido se enderece, y lo áspero se allane.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

Entonces se revelará la gloria de Yahvé, y toda la humanidad la verá junta; porque la boca de Yahvé lo ha dicho”.

Una voz dice: “¡Proclama!”. Y yo pregunté: “¿Qué debo proclamar?”. “Que todo hombre es como la hierba, y toda su gloria como la flor del campo.
Voz que decía: Da voces. Y yo respondí: ¿Qué tengo de decir á voces? Toda carne es hierba, y toda su gloria como flor del campo:

La hierba se seca y la flor se marchita cuando el aliento de Yahvé sopla sobre ellas. Ciertamente, la gente es como la hierba.
La hierba se seca, y la flor se cae; porque el viento de Jehová sopló en ella: ciertamente hierba es el pueblo.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

La hierba se seca y la flor se marchita, pero la palabra de nuestro Dios permanece para siempre”.
Sécase la hierba, cáese la flor: mas la palabra del Dios nuestro permanece para siempre.

Tú que traes buenas noticias a Sión, sube a una montaña alta. Tú que traes buenas noticias a Jerusalén, levanta con fuerza la voz. ¡Levántala, no tengas miedo! Di a las ciudades de Judá: “¡Aquí está su Dios!”.
Súbete sobre un monte alto, anunciadora de Sión; levanta fuertemente tu voz, anunciadora de Jerusalem; levántala, no temas; di á las ciudades de Judá: ¡Veis aquí el Dios vuestro!
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
Miren, el Señor Yahvé viene con poder, y su brazo gobierna por él. Miren, trae con él su recompensa, y su paga lo precede.
He aquí que el Señor Jehová vendrá con fortaleza, y su brazo se enseñoreará: he aquí que su salario viene con él, y su obra delante de su rostro.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Como un pastor, cuidará su rebaño: en sus brazos recogerá a los corderos y los llevará junto a su pecho; guiará con ternura a las ovejas que acaban de tener cría.

¿Quién midió las aguas en el cuenco de su mano, o los cielos con la palma de su mano? ¿Quién recogió en una medida el polvo de la tierra, o pesó las montañas y las colinas en la balanza?
¿Quién midió las aguas con su puño, y aderezó los cielos con su palmo, y con tres dedos allegó el polvo de la tierra, y pesó los montes con balanza, y con peso los collados?

¿Quién puede guiar al Espíritu de Yahvé, o quién ha sido su consejero y maestro?

Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

¿A quién consultó Dios para iluminarse? ¿Quién le enseñó el camino de la justicia? ¿Quién le dio conocimiento o le mostró la senda de la inteligencia?
¿A quién demandó consejo para ser avisado? ¿Quién le enseñó el camino del juicio, ó le enseñó ciencia, ó le mostró la senda de la prudencia?
With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Para él, las naciones son como una gota de agua en un balde; son como polvillo en una balanza. Él levanta las islas como si fueran polvo fino.

Un escultor funde una estatua, un platero la recubre de oro y le prepara cadenas de plata.

The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
El que es demasiado pobre para tal ofrenda, busca madera que no se pudra y busca a un artesano experto para que le talle un ídolo que no se caiga.
El pobre escoge, para ofrecerle, madera que no se corrompa; búscase un maestro sabio, que le haga una imagen de talla que no se mueva.
He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
¿Acaso no lo sabían? ¿No lo habían oído? ¿No se les dijo desde el principio? ¿No han entendido cómo se fundó la tierra?

Dios se sienta sobre el círculo de la tierra, y sus habitantes parecen saltamontes. Él despliega los cielos como un velo y los extiende como una tienda para vivir.
El está asentado sobre el globo de la tierra, cuyos moradores son como langostas: él extiende los cielos como una cortina, tiéndelos como una tienda para morar:
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Él reduce a nada a los poderosos y hace desaparecer a los gobernantes de este mundo.
El torna en nada los poderosos, y á los que gobiernan la tierra hace como cosa vana.
That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

Apenas son plantados o sembrados, apenas echan raíces en la tierra, Dios sopla sobre ellos y se marchitan; ¡el torbellino se los lleva como si fueran paja!
Como si nunca fueran plantados, como si nunca fueran sembrados, como si nunca su tronco hubiera tenido raíz en la tierra; así que sopla en ellos se secan, y el torbellino los lleva como hojarascas.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
“¿Con quién me van a comparar? ¿Quién es igual a mí?”, dice el Santo.
¿A qué pues me haréis semejante, ó seré asimilado? dice el Santo.

Levanten los ojos al cielo: ¿Quién creó todo eso? El que hace salir a las estrellas una por una y las llama a todas por su nombre. ¡Es tan grande su poder y tan fuerte su potencia, que no falta ninguna de ellas!
Levantad en alto vuestros ojos, y mirad quién crió estas cosas: él saca por cuenta su ejército: á todas llama por sus nombres; ninguna faltará: tal es la grandeza de su fuerza, y su poder y virtud.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
¿Por qué te quejas, Jacob? ¿Por qué dices, Israel: “Yahvé no se fija en mi camino; mi Dios ignora mi derecho”?
¿Por qué dices, oh Jacob, y hablas tú, Israel: Mi camino es escondido de Jehová, y de mi Dios pasó mi juicio?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
¿Acaso no lo sabes? ¿No lo has oído? Yahvé es el Dios eterno, el Creador de los confines de la tierra. Él no se cansa ni se fatiga, y su inteligencia es insondable.
¿No has sabido, no has oído que el Dios del siglo es Jehová, el cual crió los términos de la tierra? No se trabaja, ni se fatiga con cansancio, y su entendimiento no hay quien lo alcance.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
Él da fuerzas al cansado y vigor al que no tiene energías.
El da esfuerzo al cansado, y multiplica las fuerzas al que no tiene ningunas.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
Aun los jóvenes se cansan y se fatigan, y los muchachos flaquean y caen;
Los mancebos se fatigan y se cansan, los mozos flaquean y caen:
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
pero los que confían en Yahvé renovarán sus fuerzas; volarán como las águilas, correrán y no se fatigarán, caminarán y no se cansarán.
Mas los que esperan á Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas; correrán, y no se cansarán; caminarán, y no se fatigarán.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
