CONSOLAOS, consolaos, pueblo mío, dice vuestro Dios.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
¡Hablen al corazón de Jerusalén! ¡Proclámenle que su dura milicia terminó, y su culpa fue cancelada! Pues de mano de Yavé recibió el doble por todos sus pecados.
Hablad al corazón de Jerusalem: decidle á voces que su tiempo es ya cumplido, que su pecado es perdonado; que doble ha recibido de la mano de Jehová por todos sus pecados.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.

Una voz clama: ¡Preparen el camino a Yavé en el desierto! ¡Allanen una calzada a nuestro ʼElohim en la soledad!
Voz que clama en el desierto: Barred camino á Jehová: enderezad calzada en la soledad á nuestro Dios.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
Todo valle sea levantado, toda montaña y colina rebajadas, lo torcido se enderece, y lo escabroso se allane.
Todo valle sea alzado, y bájese todo monte y collado; y lo torcido se enderece, y lo áspero se allane.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

La gloria de Yavé se manifestará. Todo humano juntamente la verá, porque habló la boca de Yavé.
Y manifestaráse la gloria de Jehová, y toda carne juntamente la verá; que la boca de Jehová habló.
And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Una voz dice: ¡Proclama! Y respondí: ¿Qué proclamaré? Que todo humano es como hierba, y todo su esplendor como la flor del campo.
Voz que decía: Da voces. Y yo respondí: ¿Qué tengo de decir á voces? Toda carne es hierba, y toda su gloria como flor del campo:

Se seca la hierba. Se marchita la flor cuando el aliento de Yavé sopla sobre ellas. En verdad el pueblo es hierba.
La hierba se seca, y la flor se cae; porque el viento de Jehová sopló en ella: ciertamente hierba es el pueblo.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
Se seca la hierba, se marchita la flor, pero la Palabra del ʼElohim nuestro permanece para siempre.
Sécase la hierba, cáese la flor: mas la palabra del Dios nuestro permanece para siempre.

¡Súbete a una montaña alta, oh Sion, anunciadora de buenas noticias! ¡Levanta fuerte tu voz, oh Jerusalén, anunciadora de buenas noticias! ¡Levántala, no temas! Dí a las ciudades de Judá: ¡Aquí está tu ʼElohim!
Súbete sobre un monte alto, anunciadora de Sión; levanta fuertemente tu voz, anunciadora de Jerusalem; levántala, no temas; di á las ciudades de Judá: ¡Veis aquí el Dios vuestro!
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
¡Miren: ʼAdonay Yavé viene con poder, y su brazo señorea! ¡Ciertamente su galardón viene con Él y su recompensa lo precede!
He aquí que el Señor Jehová vendrá con fortaleza, y su brazo se enseñoreará: he aquí que su salario viene con él, y su obra delante de su rostro.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

¿Quién midió el agua en el hueco de su mano, o calculó la extensión del cielo con su palmo y juntó el polvo de la tierra con tres dedos? ¿Quién pesó en balanza las montañas y con pesas las colinas?

¿Quién escudriñó el Espíritu de Yavé, y le enseñó como consejero suyo?

Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

¿De quién tomó consejo, quién lo instruyó, lo adoctrinó en el camino de la justicia, le enseñó el conocimiento o le mostró el camino del discernimiento?
¿A quién demandó consejo para ser avisado? ¿Quién le enseñó el camino del juicio, ó le enseñó ciencia, ó le mostró la senda de la prudencia?
With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Ciertamente, las naciones le son gotas en un cubo. Valen lo que vale el polvillo de la balanza. Las islas le pesan como un grano de polvo.

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

El Líbano no basta para el fuego, ni todos sus animales alcanzan para el holocausto.

El escultor funde una estatua, el orfebre la recubre de oro y el platero le suelda cadenillas de plata.

The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
El pobre escoge para ofrecerle un leño que no se pudra. Se busca un hábil tallador que le haga una estatua que no se mueva.
El pobre escoge, para ofrecerle, madera que no se corrompa; búscase un maestro sabio, que le haga una imagen de talla que no se mueva.
He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
¿No saben ni oyeron? ¿No se lo anunciaron desde un principio? ¿No lo entendieron desde la fundación del mundo?
¿No sabéis? ¿no habéis oído? ¿nunca os lo han dicho desde el principio? ¿no habéis sido enseñados desde que la tierra se fundó?
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

Él se sienta sobre el círculo de la tierra, y sus habitantes son como saltamontes. Él extendió los cielos como una cortina y los despliega como una tienda para morar.

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Él convierte en nada a los poderosos y a los que gobiernan la tierra en cosa vana

That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

cuando solo son plantados, son sembrados, son arraigados en la tierra, sopla sobre ellos y se marchitan. El remolino de viento los arrebata como pasto seco.
Como si nunca fueran plantados, como si nunca fueran sembrados, como si nunca su tronco hubiera tenido raíz en la tierra; así que sopla en ellos se secan, y el torbellino los lleva como hojarascas.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
El Santo dice: ¿A quién me compararán ustedes, o me asemejarán?
¿A qué pues me haréis semejante, ó seré asimilado? dice el Santo.
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Levanten sus ojos a lo alto y miren: ¿Quién creó estas cosas? Él saca y cuenta sus huestes, las cuales llama por sus nombres. Ninguna faltará. Tal es la grandeza de su fuerza y la fortaleza de su poder.
Levantad en alto vuestros ojos, y mirad quién crió estas cosas: él saca por cuenta su ejército: á todas llama por sus nombres; ninguna faltará: tal es la grandeza de su fuerza, y su poder y virtud.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
¿Por qué hablas, oh Jacob, y dices, oh Israel: Mi camino está oculto de Yavé? ¿Mi ʼElohim ignora mi causa?
¿Por qué dices, oh Jacob, y hablas tú, Israel: Mi camino es escondido de Jehová, y de mi Dios pasó mi juicio?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
¿No lo sabes ni lo oíste? El eterno ʼElohim, Yavé, el Creador de los confines de la tierra, no se cansa ni se fatiga. Su entendimiento es insondable.
¿No has sabido, no has oído que el Dios del siglo es Jehová, el cual crió los términos de la tierra? No se trabaja, ni se fatiga con cansancio, y su entendimiento no hay quien lo alcance.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
Él fortalece al cansado y aumenta la fuerza al que no tiene vigor.
El da esfuerzo al cansado, y multiplica las fuerzas al que no tiene ningunas.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
Aun los muchachos se fatigan y se cansan. Los jóvenes tropiezan y caen,
Los mancebos se fatigan y se cansan, los mozos flaquean y caen:
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
pero los que esperan en Yavé tienen nuevas fuerzas. Levantarán las alas como águilas, correrán y no se cansarán, caminarán y no se fatigarán.
Mas los que esperan á Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas; correrán, y no se cansarán; caminarán, y no se fatigarán.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
