“Portanto escute o que eu digo, Jacó, meu servo, Israel, meu povo escolhido.
AHORA pues oye, Jacob, siervo mío, y tú, Israel, á quien yo escogí.
Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

Assim diz o Senhor, aquele que o criou, que o formou no ventre, e que vai ajudar você: Não tenha medo, ó Jacó, meu amado servo, a quem escolhi.
Así dice Jehová, Hacedor tuyo, y el que te formó desde el vientre, el cual te ayudará: No temas, siervo mío Jacob, y tú, Jeshurun, á quien yo escogí.
Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
This is what the LORD who made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you says: “Don’t be afraid, Jacob my servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
Eu lhe darei água para matar a sede e para regar os campos secos. Derramarei o meu Espírito e as minhas bênçãos sobre os seus futuros filhos.
Porque yo derramaré aguas sobre el secadal, y ríos sobre la tierra árida: mi espíritu derramaré sobre tu generación, y mi bendición sobre tus renuevos:
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring;
Eles crescerão rapidamente como a grama nova, como os salgueiros à beira de um rio.
Y brotarán entre hierba, como sauces junto á las riberas de las aguas.
And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
and they will spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
Eles dirão com orgulho: ‘Sou do Senhor’; outro dirá: ‘O meu nome é Jacó’. Ainda outro juntará ao seu nome a palavra Israel.
Este dirá: Yo soy de Jehová; el otro se llamará del nombre de Jacob; y otro escribirá con su mano, A Jehová, y se apellidará con el nombre de Israel.
One shall say, I am the LORD’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
One will say, ‘I am the LORD’s.’ Another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to the LORD,’ and honor the name of Israel.”
“Assim diz o Senhor, o Rei de Israel, o Redentor de Israel, o Senhor Todo-poderoso: Eu sou o Primeiro e o Último, além de mim não há outro Deus.
Así dice Jehová, Rey de Israel, y su Redentor, Jehová de los ejércitos: Yo el primero, y yo el postrero, y fuera de mí no hay Dios.
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
This is what the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of Armies, says: “I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.
Haverá outro que seja igual a mim? Pois que apareça e me mostre que é capaz; diga o que aconteceu desde que estabeleci meu antigo povo, e ainda o que vai acontecer! Já houve alguém que desde o princípio pudesse predizer as coisas futuras?
¿Y quién llamará como yo, y denunciará esto, y lo ordenará por mí, desde que hice el pueblo antiguo? Anúncienles lo que viene, y lo que está por venir.
And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.
Não tenham medo, israelitas; não fiquem apavorados. Não se lembram de que eu já prometi salvá-los? Eu já os avisei com antecedência. Vocês são as minhas testemunhas: há algum outro Deus além de mim? Não, nenhum! Não há nenhuma outra Rocha!”
No temáis, ni os amedrentéis: ¿no te lo hice oir desde antiguo, y te lo dije? Luego vosotros sois mis testigos. No hay Dios sino yo. No hay Fuerte: no conozco ninguno.
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don’t know any other Rock.”
Como são estúpidos os que fabricam imagens para seus deuses! Os ídolos que eles fazem não valem coisa alguma. Eles mesmos podem confirmar isso, porque os seus ídolos não podem ver nem entender. Não é de admirar que as pessoas que adoram essas imagens vivam tão desorientadas e confusas!
Los formadores de imágenes de talla, todos ellos son vanidad, y lo más precioso de ellos para nada es útil; y ellos mismos para su confusión son testigos, que ellos ni ven ni entienden.
They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
Everyone who makes a carved image is vain. The things that they delight in will not profit. Their own witnesses don’t see, nor know, that they may be disappointed.
É uma grande tolice fazer o seu próprio deus — uma imagem que não pode ajudar em nada!
¿Quién formó un dios, ó quién fundó una estatua que para nada es de provecho?
Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
Who has fashioned a god, or molds an image that is profitable for nothing?
Todos os que adoram esses ídolos serão envergonhados diante do Senhor, junto com os artesãos que criaram aquelas imagens e que não passam de seres humanos. Que eles se reúnam e declarem a sua posição; eles ficarão apavorados e serão humilhados.
He aquí que todos sus compañeros serán avergonzados; porque los mismos artífices son de los hombres. Todos ellos se juntarán, estarán, se asombrarán, y serán avergonzados á una.
Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed; and the workmen are mere men. Let them all be gathered together. Let them stand up. They will fear. They will be put to shame together.
O ferreiro coloca o ferro sobre as brasas, bate nele fortemente com o martelo e modela um ídolo. Depois forja-o com a força do braço e, cansado, com fome e sede, desfalece.
El herrero tomará la tenaza, obrará en las ascuas, darále forma con los martillos, y trabajará en ella con la fuerza de su brazo: tiene luego hambre, y le faltan las fuerzas; no beberá agua, y se desmaya.
The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
The blacksmith takes an ax, works in the coals, fashions it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm. He is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is faint.
Um escultor, por sua vez, mede e desenha uma imagem, corta e alisa a madeira com formões e faz a imagem de um homem, uma bela imagem, para ser colocada num santuário.
El carpintero tiende la regla, señala aquélla con almagre, lábrala con los cepillos, dale figura con el compás, hácela en forma de varón, á semejanza de hombre hermoso, para estar en casa.
The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
The carpenter stretches out a line. He marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes. He marks it out with compasses, and shapes it like the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to reside in a house.
O escultor derruba cedros, talvez escolha um cipreste, ou ainda um carvalho. Ele planta um pinheiro no bosque, e a chuva faz a árvore crescer.
Cortaráse cedros, y tomará encina y alcornoque, y entre los árboles del bosque se esforzará; plantará pino, que se críe con la lluvia.
He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak, and strengthens for himself one among the trees of the forest. He plants a cypress tree, and the rain nourishes it.
Depois de todo esse trabalho, ele usa as árvores para lenha; parte da madeira serve para aquecer sua casa e assar o seu pão, e com o resto — imaginem só — ele faz um deus para si mesmo e se ajoelha diante dele!
De él se servirá luego el hombre para quemar, y tomará de ellos para calentarse; encenderá también el horno, y cocerá panes: hará además un dios, y lo adorará; fabricará un ídolo, y arrodillaráse delante de él.
Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
Then it will be for a man to burn; and he takes some of it and warms himself. Yes, he burns it and bakes bread. Yes, he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.
Com parte da árvore que derrubou, esquenta sua casa, prepara sua refeição, assa um pedaço de carne, come à vontade e diz: “Ah! Um belo fogo para não sentir frio; que fogo bom!”
Parte del leño quemará en el fuego; con parte de él comerá carne, aderezará asado, y se saciará; después se calentará, y dirá: ¡Oh! heme calentado, he visto el fuego;
He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
He burns part of it in the fire. With part of it, he eats meat. He roasts a roast and is satisfied. Yes, he warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm. I have seen the fire.”
Com o que sobrou da madeira ele faz um deus, seu ídolo! Ajoelha-se diante dele e o adora. Ora a ele, dizendo: “Proteja-me! Você é o meu deus”.
Y torna su sobrante en un dios, en su escultura; humíllase delante de ella, adórala, y ruégale diciendo: Líbrame, que mi dios eres tú.
And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.
The rest of it he makes into a god, even his engraved image. He bows down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”
Que estupidez, que loucura! Seus olhos foram fechados de tal forma que não podem mais ver, e as suas mentes não são capazes de compreender.
No supieron ni entendieron: porque encostrados están sus ojos para no ver, y su corazón para no entender.
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
They don’t know, neither do they consider, for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see, and their hearts, that they can’t understand.
Ninguém para pensar, ninguém tem o conhecimento ou o entendimento para dizer a si mesmo: “Ora, isso não passa de um pedaço de pau! Eu usei uma parte para esquentar minha casa, um pouco para cozinhar meu pão e assar carne. Como é que iria fazer disso um ídolo, para ofender Deus? Como é que eu iria me ajoelhar diante de um pedaço de madeira?”
No discurre para consigo, no tiene sentido ni entendimiento para decir: Parte de esto quemé en el fuego, y sobre sus brasas cocí pan, asé carne, y comíla; ¿he de tornar en una abominación lo restante de ello? ¿delante de un tronco de árbol tengo de humillarme?
And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?”
Mas o homem que faz isso é como quem se alimenta de cinza! Ele está confiando em coisas sem valor que não podem salvar sua alma. E o seu coração está tão iludido que ele nem é capaz de pensar: “Será que este ídolo, que eu mesmo fiz com minhas próprias mãos, não é uma mentira?”
De ceniza se apacienta; su corazón engañado le desvía, para que no libre su alma, ni diga: ¿No hay una mentira á mi mano derecha?
He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”
“Lembre-se bem disso, Jacó, porque você é o meu servo, ó Israel. Eu mesmo o formei para me servir e nunca o esquecerei.
Acuérdate de estas cosas, oh Jacob, é Israel, pues que tú mi siervo eres: Yo te formé; siervo mío eres tú: Israel, no me olvides.
Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
Remember these things, Jacob and Israel, for you are my servant. I have formed you. You are my servant. Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
Eu faço desaparecer as suas ofensas, como se fossem uma nuvem; como o sol faz desaparecer a neblina da manhã, assim eu faço desaparecer os seus pecados. Volte para mim, porque eu já paguei o preço do seu resgate”.
Yo deshice como á nube tus rebeliones, y como á niebla tus pecados: tórnate á mí, porque yo te redimí.
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Cantem de alegria, ó céus, porque o Senhor fez isso. Gritem bem alto de alegria, ó profundezas da terra; e vocês, montanhas e florestas, todas as árvores, cantem bem alto, bem forte, porque o Senhor resgatou Jacó e mostra a sua glória em Israel!
Cantad loores, oh cielos, porque Jehová lo hizo; gritad con júbilo, lugares bajos de la tierra; prorrumpid, montes, en alabanza; bosque, y todo árbol que en él está: porque Jehová redimió á Jacob, y en Israel será glorificado.
Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
Sing, you heavens, for the LORD has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth! Break out into singing, you mountains, O forest, all of your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.
“Assim diz o Senhor, o seu Redentor, que o formou no ventre: ‘Eu sou o Senhor, que criei todas as coisas; eu estendi os céus e formei a terra e tudo o que há nela.
Así dice Jehová, tu Redentor, y formador tuyo desde el vientre: Yo Jehová, que lo hago todo, que extiendo solo los cielos, que extiendo la tierra por mí mismo;
Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
The LORD, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says: “I am the LORD, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;
Eu mostro a todos como são mentirosos esses falsos profetas e transformo em fracassos as promessas dos adivinhos. Eu faço os sábios darem conselhos estúpidos e passarem por tolos.
Que deshago las señales de los adivinos, y enloquezco á los agoreros; que hago tornar atrás los sabios, y desvanezco su sabiduría;
That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;
Mas eu cumpro tudo o que os meus servos, os profetas, prometeram, e digo acerca de Jerusalém: Ela será novamente habitada, e das outras cidades de Judá: Elas serão reconstruídas, e de suas ruínas: Eu as restaurarei,

que digo às profundezas das águas: Fiquem secos, e eu secarei os seus rios,

That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

que digo de Ciro: Ele é meu pastor, e ele fará tudo o que eu quiser. Ele dirá de Jerusalém: Seja reconstruída, e do templo: Sejam colocados os seus alicerces’ ”.
Que dice de Ciro: Es mi pastor, y cumplirá todo lo que yo quiero, en diciendo á Jerusalem, Serás edificada; y al templo: Serás fundado.
That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
