Höret das, ihr vom Hause Jakob, die ihr heißet mit Namen Israel und aus dem Wasser Juda's geflossen seid; die ihr schwöret bei dem Namen des HERRN und gedenkt des Gottes in Israel, aber nicht in der Wahrheit noch Gerechtigkeit.
OID esto, casa de Jacob, que os llamáis del nombre de Israel, los que salieron de las aguas de Judá, los que juran en el nombre de Jehová, y hacen memoria del Dios de Israel, mas no en verdad ni en justicia:
Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

Sie nennen sich aus der heiligen Stadt und trotzen auf den Gott Israels, der da heißt der HERR Zebaoth.

O daß du auf meine Gebote merktest, so würde dein Friede sein wie ein Wasserstrom, und deine Gerechtigkeit wie Meereswellen;
¡Ojalá miraras tú á mis mandamientos! fuera entonces tu paz como un río, y tu justicia como las ondas de la mar.
O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

und dein Same würde sein wie Sand, und die Sprossen deines Leibes wie Sandkörner; sein Name würde nicht ausgerottet noch vertilgt vor mir.
