1Escúchenme todos los que forman parte de mi pueblo; ustedes los que juran lealtad al Señor y lo invocan, pero son unos hipócritas y mentirosos.
2Sí, porque ustedes ostentan el nombre de «Ciudad Santa» y dicen confiar en el Dios de Israel cuyo nombre es Señor Todopoderoso.
3Una y otra vez les dije lo que iba a ocurrir en el futuro.
4Yo sabía cuán tercos son. Tienen el cuello tan inflexible como el hierro, tienen la cabeza tan dura como el bronce.
5Por eso les dije por anticipado lo que iba a hacer, para que no atribuyeran los hechos a sus ídolos, para que jamás pudieran decir: «Lo hizo el ídolo mío, mi imagen esculpida ordenó que sucediera».
6Han escuchado mis predicciones y las han visto cumplirse, pero se niegan a reconocerlo. Les anunciaré ahora nuevos detalles que jamás había mencionado, secretos que ustedes no han oído.
7Entonces no podrán decir: «¡Ya lo sabíamos!».
8Sí, les voy a decir cosas totalmente nuevas, pues bien sé lo traidores que son, rebeldes desde la más tierna infancia, podridos por completo.
9Mas por mí mismo y por la honra de mi nombre refrenaré mi ira y no los destruiré.
10En el horno de aflicción los refiné, pero no encontré plata en ustedes. Carecen de valor; nada bueno hay en ustedes.
11Pero por mí, por amor de mí mismo, los salvaré de mi ira y no los destruiré para que no digan sus dioses que me han vencido. No les permitiré que me arrebaten mi gloria.
12¡Escúchame, pueblo mío, elegido mío! Sólo yo soy Dios. Yo soy el primero, yo soy el último.
13Mi mano fue la que echó los cimientos de la tierra, la palma de mi mano derecha extendió el cielo alto. Hablé y existieron.
14¡Vengan y escuchen, ustedes todos! Entre todos sus ídolos, ¿cuál les dijo jamás esto: «El Señor ama a Ciro, de él se valdrá para acabar con el Imperio de Babilonia, y derrotará por completo los ejércitos caldeos»?
15Pues yo se los estoy diciendo. Yo he llamado a Ciro, yo le he encomendado esto y haré que prospere.
16¡Acérquense más y escuchen! Siempre les he dicho con claridad lo que ocurriría, para que pudieran entender claramente. Y ahora el Señor Dios y su Espíritu me han enviado con este mensaje:
17El Señor, su Redentor, el Santo de Israel, dice: Yo soy el Señor Dios de ustedes, que los castiga para su bien y que los guía por la senda que deben seguir.
18¡Ay, ojalá que hubieran atendido mis leyes! Entonces habrían disfrutado de paz que fluiría como manso río, y de grandes oleadas de justicia.
19Entonces habrían llegado a ser tan numerosos e incontables como los granos de arena de las playas del mundo, y su destrucción no habría sido necesaria.
20¡Líbrense de su cautiverio! ¡Salgan de Babilonia, cantando en el camino! ¡Grítenle a los extremos de la tierra que el Señor ha redimido a sus siervos los israelitas!
21Cuando él los guio por los desiertos, no padecieron sed. Él abrió la roca y de ella brotó agua para que bebieran.
22Pero no hay paz para el malvado, dice el Señor.

1OID esto, casa de Jacob, que os llamáis del nombre de Israel, los que salieron de las aguas de Judá, los que juran en el nombre de Jehová, y hacen memoria del Dios de Israel, mas no en verdad ni en justicia:
2Porque de la santa ciudad se nombran, y en el Dios de Israel confían: su nombre, Jehová de los ejércitos.
3Lo que pasó, ya antes lo dije; y de mi boca salió; publiquélo, hícelo presto, y vino á ser.
4Porque conozco que eres duro, y nervio de hierro tu cerviz, y tu frente de metal,
5Díjetelo ya días há; antes que viniese te lo enseñé, porque no dijeses: Mi ídolo lo hizo, mis estatuas de escultura y de fundición mandaron estas cosas.
6Oístelo, vístelo todo; ¿y no lo anunciaréis vosotros? Ahora pues te he hecho oir nuevas y ocultas cosas que tú no sabías.
7Ahora han sido criadas, no en días pasados; ni antes de este día las habías oído, porque no digas: He aquí que yo lo sabía.
8Sí, nunca lo habías oído, ni nunca lo habías conocido; ciertamente no se abrió antes tu oreja; porque sabía que desleal habías de desobedecer, por tanto te llamé rebelde desde el vientre.
9Por amor de mi nombre dilataré mi furor, y para alabanza mía te daré largas, para no talarte.
10He aquí te he purificado, y no como á plata; hete escogido en horno de aflicción.
11Por mí, por amor de mí lo haré, para que no sea amancillado mi nombre, y mi honra no la daré á otro.
12Oyeme, Jacob, y tú, Israel, llamado de mí: Yo mismo, yo el primero, yo también el postrero.
13Mi mano fundó también la tierra, y mi mano derecha midió los cielos con el palmo; en llamándolos yo, parecieron juntamente.
14Juntaos todos vosotros, y oid. ¿Quién hay entre ellos que anuncie estas cosas? Jehová lo amó, el cual ejecutará su voluntad en Babilonia, y su brazo en los Caldeos.
15Yo, yo hablé, y le llamé, y le traje; por tanto será prosperado su camino.
16Allegaos á mí, oid esto; desde el principio no hablé en escondido; desde que la cosa se hizo, estuve allí: y ahora el Señor Jehová me envió, y su espíritu.
17Así ha dicho Jehová, Redentor tuyo, el Santo de Israel: Yo Jehová Dios tuyo, que te enseña provechosamente, que te encamina por el camino que andas.
18¡Ojalá miraras tú á mis mandamientos! fuera entonces tu paz como un río, y tu justicia como las ondas de la mar.
19Fuera como la arena tu simiente, y los renuevos de tus entrañas como las pedrezuelas de ella; nunca su nombre fuera cortado, ni raído de mi presencia.
20Salid de Babilonia, huid de entre los Caldeos; dad nuevas de esto con voz de alegría, publicadlo, llevadlo hasta lo postrero de la tierra: decid: Redimió Jehová á Jacob su siervo.
21Y no tuvieron sed cuando los llevó por los desiertos; hízoles correr agua de la piedra; cortó la peña, y corrieron aguas.
22No hay paz para los malos, dijo Jehová.

1Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
2For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
3I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
4Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
5I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
6Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
7They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
8Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
9For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
10Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
11For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
12Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
13Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
14All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
15I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
16Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
17Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
18O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
19Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
20Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
21And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
22There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

1“Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah. You swear by the LORD’s name, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness—
2for they call themselves citizens of the holy city, and rely on the God of Israel; the LORD of Armies is his name.
3I have declared the former things from of old. Yes, they went out of my mouth, and I revealed them. I did them suddenly, and they happened.
4Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow bronze;
5therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them. My engraved image and my molten image has commanded them.’
6You have heard it. Now see all this. And you, won’t you declare it? “I have shown you new things from this time, even hidden things, which you have not known.
7They are created now, and not from of old. Before today, you didn’t hear them, lest you should say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
8Yes, you didn’t hear. Yes, you didn’t know. Yes, from of old your ear was not opened, for I knew that you dealt very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.
9For my name’s sake, I will defer my anger, and for my praise, I hold it back for you so that I don’t cut you off.
10Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
11For my own sake, for my own sake, I will do it; for how would my name be profaned? I will not give my glory to another.
12“Listen to me, O Jacob, and Israel my called: I am he. I am the first. I am also the last.
13Yes, my hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spread out the heavens. when I call to them, they stand up together.
14“Assemble yourselves, all of you, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? He whom the LORD loves will do what he likes to Babylon, and his arm will be against the Chaldeans.
15I, even I, have spoken. Yes, I have called him. I have brought him and he shall make his way prosperous.
16“Come near to me and hear this: “From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it happened, I was there.” Now the Lord GOD has sent me with his Spirit.
17The LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.
18Oh that you had listened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
19Your offspring also would have been as the sand and the descendants of your body like its grains. His name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.”
20Leave Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With the sound of joyful shouting announce this, tell it even to the end of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob!”
21They didn’t thirst when he led them through the deserts. He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them. He also split the rock and the waters gushed out.
22“There is no peace”, says the LORD, “for the wicked.”
