1Höret auf mich, ihr Inseln, und merket auf, ihr Völkerschaften in der Ferne! Jehova hat mich berufen von Mutterleibe an, hat von meiner Mutter Schoße an meines Namens Erwähnung getan.
2Und er machte meinen Mund wie ein scharfes Schwert, hat mich versteckt in dem Schatten seiner Hand; und er machte mich zu einem geglätteten Pfeile, hat mich verborgen in seinem Köcher.
3Und er sprach zu mir: Du bist mein Knecht, bist Israel, an dem ich mich verherrlichen werde. -
4Ich aber sprach: Umsonst habe ich mich abgemüht, vergeblich und für nichts meine Kraft verzehrt; doch mein Recht ist bei Jehova und mein Lohn bei meinem Gott. -
5Und nun spricht Jehova, der mich von Mutterleibe an zu seinem Knechte gebildet hat, um Jakob zu ihm zurückzubringen, und Israel ist nicht gesammelt worden; aber ich bin geehrt in den Augen Jehovas, und mein Gott ist meine Stärke geworden-
6ja, er spricht: Es ist zu gering, daß du mein Knecht seiest, um die Stämme Jakobs aufzurichten und die Bewahrten von Israel zurückzubringen; ich habe dich auch zum Licht der Nationen gesetzt, um mein Heil zu sein bis an das Ende der Erde.
7So spricht Jehova, der Erlöser Israels, sein Heiliger, zu dem von jedermann Verachteten, zu dem Abscheu der Nation, zu dem Knechte der Herrscher: Könige werden es sehen und aufstehen, Fürsten, und sie werden sich niederwerfen, um Jehovas willen, der treu ist, des Heiligen Israels, der dich erwählt hat.
8So spricht Jehova: Zur Zeit der Annehmung habe ich dich erhört, und am Tage des Heils habe ich dir geholfen. Und ich werde dich behüten und dich setzen zum Bunde des Volkes, um das Land aufzurichten, um die verwüsteten Erbteile auszuteilen,
9um den Gefangenen zu sagen: Gehet hinaus! zu denen, die in Finsternis sind: Kommet ans Licht! Sie werden an den Wegen weiden, und auf allen kahlen Höhen wird ihre Weide sein;
10sie werden nicht hungern und nicht dürsten, und weder Kimmung noch Sonne wird sie treffen. Denn ihr Erbarmer wird sie führen und wird sie leiten an Wasserquellen.
11Und alle meine Berge will ich zum Wege machen, und meine Straßen werden erhöht werden.
12Siehe, diese werden von ferner kommen, und siehe, diese von Norden und von Westen, und diese aus dem Lande der Sinim.
13Jubelt, ihr Himmel, und frohlocke, du Erde; und ihr Berge, brechet in Jubel aus! Denn Jehova hat sein Volk getröstet, und seiner Elenden erbarmt er sich.
14Und Zion sprach: Jehova hat mich verlassen, und der Herr hat meiner vergessen.
15Könnte auch ein Weib ihres Säuglings vergessen, daß sie sich nicht erbarmte über den Sohn ihres Leibes? Sollten selbst diese vergessen, ich werde deiner nicht vergessen.
16Siehe, in meine beiden Handflächen habe ich dich eingezeichnet; deine Mauern sind beständig vor mir.
17Deine Kinder eilen herbei, deine Zerstörer und deine Verwüster ziehen aus dir hinweg.
18Erhebe ringsum deine Augen und sieh: sie alle versammeln sich, kommen zu dir. So wahr ich lebe, spricht Jehova, du wirst sie alle wie ein Geschmeide anlegen und dich damit gürten wie eine Braut.
19Denn deine Trümmer und deine Wüsten und dein zerstörtes Land, ja, nun wirst du zu enge werden für die Bewohner; und deine Verschlinger werden fern sein.
20Die Kinder deiner Kinderlosigkeit werden noch vor deinen Ohren sagen: Der Raum ist mir zu eng; mache mir Platz, daß ich wohnen möge.
21Und du wirst in deinem Herzen sprechen: Wer hat mir diese geboren, da ich doch der Kinder beraubt und unfruchtbar war, verbannt und umherirrend? Und diese, wer hat sie großgezogen? Siehe, ich war ja allein übriggeblieben; diese, wo waren sie?
22So spricht der Herr, Jehova: Siehe, ich werde meine Hand zu den Nationen hin erheben, und zu den Völkern hin mein Panier aufrichten; und sie werden deine Söhne im Busen bringen, und deine Töchter werden auf der Schulter getragen werden.
23Und Könige werden deine Wärter sein, und ihre Fürstinnen deine Ammen; sie werden sich vor dir niederwerfen mit dem Antlitz zur Erde, und den Staub deiner Füße lecken. Und du wirst erkennen, daß ich Jehova bin: die auf mich harren, werden nicht beschämt werden.
24Sollte wohl einem Helden die Beute entrissen werden? Oder sollen rechtmäßig Gefangene entrinnen?
25Ja, so spricht Jehova: Auch die Gefangenen des Helden werden ihm entrissen werden, und die Beute des Gewaltigen wird entrinnen. Und ich werde den befehden, der dich befehdet; und ich werde deine Kinder retten.
26Und ich werde deine Bedrücker speisen mit ihrem eigenen Fleische, und von ihrem Blute sollen sie trunken werden wie von Most. Und alles Fleisch wird erkennen, daß ich, Jehova, dein Heiland bin, und ich, der Mächtige Jakobs, dein Erlöser.

1OIDME, islas, y escuchad, pueblos lejanos: Jehová me llamó desde el vientre; desde las entrañas de mi madre tuvo mi nombre en memoria.
2Y puso mi boca como espada aguda, cubrióme con la sombra de su mano; y púsome por saeta limpia, guardóme en su aljaba;
3Y díjome: Mi siervo eres, oh Israel, que en ti me gloriaré.
4Yo empero dije: Por demás he trabajado, en vano y sin provecho he consumido mi fortaleza; mas mi juicio está delante de Jehová, y mi recompensa con mi Dios.
5Ahora pues, dice Jehová, el que me formó desde el vientre por su siervo, para que convierta á él á Jacob. Bien que Israel no se juntará, con todo, estimado seré en los ojos de Jehová, y el Dios mío será mi fortaleza.
6Y dijo: Poco es que tú me seas siervo para levantar las tribus de Jacob, y para que restaures los asolamientos de Israel: también te dí por luz de las gentes, para que seas mi salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.
7Así ha dicho Jehová, Redentor de Israel, el Santo suyo, al menospreciado de alma, al abominado de las gentes, al siervo de los tiranos: Verán reyes, y levantaránse príncipes, y adorarán por Jehová; porque fiel es el Santo de Israel, el cual te escogió.
8Así dijo Jehová: En hora de contentamiento te oí, y en el día de salud te ayudé: y guardarte he, y te daré por alianza del pueblo, para que levantes la tierra, para que heredes asoladas heredades;
9Para que digas á los presos: Salid; y á los que están en tinieblas: Manifestaos. En los caminos serán apacentados, y en todas las cumbres serán sus pastos.
10No tendrán hambre ni sed, ni el calor ni el sol los afligirá; porque el que tiene de ellos misericordia los guiará, y los conducirá á manaderos de aguas.
11Y tornaré camino todos mis montes, y mis calzadas serán levantadas.
12He aquí estos vendrán de lejos; y he aquí estotros del norte y del occidente, y estotros de la tierra de los Sineos.
13Cantad alabanzas, oh cielos, y alégrate, tierra; y prorrumpid en alabanzas, oh montes: porque Jehová ha consolado su pueblo, y de sus pobres tendrá misericordia.
14Mas Sión dijo: Dejóme Jehová, y el Señor se olvidó de mí.
15¿Olvidaráse la mujer de lo que parió, para dejar de compadecerse del hijo de su vientre? Aunque se olviden ellas, yo no me olvidaré de ti.
16He aquí que en las palmas te tengo esculpida: delante de mí están siempre tus muros.
17Tus edificadores vendrán aprisa; tus destruidores y tus asoladores saldrán de ti.
18Alza tus ojos alrededor, y mira: todos estos se han reunido, han venido á ti. Vivo yo, dice Jehová, que de todos, como de vestidura de honra, serás vestida; y de ellos serás ceñida como novia.
19Porque tus asolamientos, y tus ruinas, y tu tierra desierta, ahora será angosta por la multitud de los moradores; y tus destruidores serán apartados lejos.
20Aun los hijos de tu orfandad dirán á tus oídos: Angosto es para mí este lugar; apártate por amor de mí, para que yo more.
21Y dirás en tu corazón: ¿Quién me engendró estos? porque yo deshijada estaba y sola, peregrina y desterrada: ¿quién pues crió éstos? He aquí yo estaba dejada sola: éstos ¿dónde estaban?
22Así dijo el Señor Jehová: He aquí, yo alzaré mi mano á las gentes, y á los pueblos levantaré mi bandera; y traerán en brazos tus hijos, y tus hijas serán traídas en hombros.
23Y reyes serán tus ayos, y sus reinas tus amas de leche; el rostro inclinado á tierra te adorarán, y lamerán el polvo de tus pies: y conocerás que yo soy Jehová, que no se avergonzarán los que me esperan.
24¿Será quitada la presa al valiente? ó ¿libertaráse la cautividad legítima?
25Así empero dice Jehová: Cierto, la cautividad será quitada al valiente, y la presa del robusto será librada; y tu pleito yo lo pleitearé, y yo salvaré á tus hijos.
26Y á los que te despojaron haré comer sus carnes, y con su sangre serán embriagados como con mosto; y conocerá toda carne que yo Jehová soy Salvador tuyo, y Redentor tuyo, el Fuerte de Jacob.

1Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
5And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
6And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
8Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
14But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
17Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.
18Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
19For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
20The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.
21Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
22Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
23And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
24Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
World English Bible
1Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: the LORD has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.
2He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. He has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.
3He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”
4But I said, “I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with the LORD, and my reward with my God.”
5Now the LORD, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in the LORD’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.
6Indeed, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”
7The LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
8The LORD says, “I have answered you in an acceptable time. I have helped you in a day of salvation. I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage,
9saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’; to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves!’ “They shall feed along the paths, and their pasture shall be on all treeless heights.
10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them, for he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them by springs of water.
11I will make all my mountains a road, and my highways shall be exalted.
12Behold, these shall come from afar, and behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim.”
13Sing, heavens, and be joyful, earth! Break out into singing, mountains! For the LORD has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
14But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”
15“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!
16Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are continually before me.
17Your children hurry. Your destroyers and those who devastated you will leave you.
18Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says the LORD, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.
19“For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now that land will be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
20The children of your bereavement will say in your ears, ‘This place is too small for me. Give me a place to live in.’
21Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has conceived these for me, since I have been bereaved of my children and am alone, an exile, and wandering back and forth? Who has brought these up? Behold, I was left alone. Where were these?’”
22The Lord GOD says, “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and lift up my banner to the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; and those who wait for me won’t be disappointed.”
24Shall the plunder be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
25But the LORD says, “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce, for I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children.
26I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
