Noi siamo andati brancolando intorno alla parete, come ciechi; siamo andati brancolando, come quelli che non hanno occhi; noi ci siamo intoppati nel mezzodì, come in sul vespro; noi siamo stati in luoghi ermi e solitari, come morti.

Palpamos la pared como ciegos, y andamos á tiento como sin ojos; tropezamos al medio día como de noche; estamos en oscuros lugares como muertos.

We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
