1Así dice Yahvé: “El cielo es mi trono y la tierra es el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa me podrían construir? ¿Dónde podría estar mi lugar de descanso?
2Mi mano hizo todas estas cosas, y así fue como llegaron a existir”, dice Yahvé. “Pero yo miro con bondad al que es humilde y tierno de espíritu, al que tiembla ante mi palabra.
3Pero el que sacrifica un buey es como el que mata a un hombre; el que sacrifica una oveja, como el que desnuca a un perro; el que ofrece una ofrenda, como el que ofrece sangre de cerdo; el que quema incienso, como el que bendice a un ídolo. Ellos han elegido sus propios caminos y se deleitan en sus actos abominables.
4Por eso yo también elegiré castigarlos, y traeré sobre ellos lo que tanto temen. Porque llamé y nadie respondió, hablé y nadie escuchó. Hicieron lo malo ante mis ojos y eligieron lo que me desagrada”.
5Escuchen la palabra de Yahvé, ustedes que tiemblan ante su palabra: “Sus hermanos, los que los odian y los rechazan por causa de mi nombre, han dicho: “¡Que Yahvé muestre su gloria, para que veamos la alegría de ustedes!”. ¡Pero ellos serán los avergonzados!
6Se oye un estrépito en la ciudad, un grito en el templo; es la voz de Yahvé que da su merecido a sus enemigos”.
7Antes de estar de parto, Jerusalén dio a luz; antes de que le vinieran los dolores, tuvo un hijo.
8¿Quién oyó jamás algo parecido? ¿Quién vio nunca tal cosa? ¿Acaso nace un país en un solo día? ¿Nace una nación en un instante? Pues Sión apenas sintió los dolores de parto, y enseguida dio a luz a sus hijos.
9“¿Acaso voy a abrir la matriz y no dejaré que nazca el hijo?”, dice Yahvé. “¿O voy a cerrar el vientre yo, que hago dar a luz?”, dice tu Dios.
10Alégrense con Jerusalén, llénense de gozo con ella todos los que la aman; compartan su alegría todos los que por ella lloraban.
11Porque ustedes serán amamantados y saciados por sus pechos consoladores; beberán a pleno pulmón y se deleitarán en su gloria desbordante”.
12Porque así dice Yahvé: “Yo haré que la paz corra hacia ella como un río, y la riqueza de las naciones como un torrente desbordado. Ustedes serán amamantados, llevados en brazos y acariciados sobre las rodillas.
13Como una madre consuela a su hijo, así los consolaré yo a ustedes; en Jerusalén hallarán consuelo”.
14Cuando vean esto, su corazón se alegrará y sus huesos florecerán como la hierba; Yahvé mostrará su poder a sus siervos y su enojo a sus enemigos.
15Porque miren, Yahvé viene con fuego, y sus carros son como un torbellino, para descargar su ira con furor y su castigo con llamas de fuego.
16Porque Yahvé juzgará con fuego y con su espada a toda la humanidad, y serán muchos los que mueran a manos de Yahvé.
17“Los que se santifican y se purifican para ir a los jardines sagrados siguiendo a uno que va en medio, los que comen carne de cerdo, ratas y otras cosas abominables, todos ellos perecerán al mismo tiempo”, dice Yahvé.
18“Yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos. Viene el día en que reuniré a todas las naciones y lenguas; vendrán y verán mi gloria.
19Pondré entre ellos una señal, y a los sobrevivientes los enviaré a las naciones: a Tarsis, a Pul y a Lud (famosos arqueros), a Tubal y a Javán, y a las costas lejanas que nunca han oído hablar de mí ni han visto mi gloria. Ellos anunciarán mi gloria entre las naciones.
20Traerán a todos los hermanos de ustedes de entre todas las naciones, como una ofrenda para Yahvé. Los traerán en caballos, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en camellos, hasta mi monte santo en Jerusalén”, dice Yahvé, “así como los israelitas traen sus ofrendas en vasijas limpias al templo de Yahvé.
21Y de entre ellos mismos tomaré a algunos para que sean sacerdotes y levitas”, dice Yahvé.
22“Porque así como los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva que yo voy a crear permanecerán ante mí”, dice Yahvé, “así también permanecerán sus descendientes y su nombre.
23Sucederá que de una luna nueva a otra, y de un sábado a otro, todos vendrán a postrarse delante de mí”, dice Yahvé.
24“Al salir, verán los cadáveres de los que se rebelaron contra mí. Su gusano nunca morirá ni su fuego se apagará; serán algo repugnante para toda la humanidad”.

1JEHOVÁ dijo así: El cielo es mi solio, y la tierra estrado de mis pies: ¿dónde está la casa que me habréis de edificar, y dónde este lugar de mi reposo?
2Mi mano hizo todas estas cosas, y así todas estas cosas fueron, dice Jehová: mas á aquél miraré que es pobre y humilde de espíritu, y que tiembla á mi palabra.
3El que sacrifica buey, como si matase un hombre; el que sacrifica oveja, como si degollase un perro; el que ofrece presente, como si ofreciese sangre de puerco; el que ofrece perfume, como si bendijese á un ídolo. Y pues escogieron sus caminos, y su alma amó sus abominaciones,
4También yo escogeré sus escarnios, y traeré sobre ellos lo que temieron; porque llamé, y nadie respondió; hablé, y no oyeron; antes hicieron lo malo delante de mis ojos, y escogieron lo que á mí desagrada.
5Oid palabra de Jehová, vosotros los que tembláis á su palabra: Vuestros hermanos los que os aborrecen, y os niegan por causa de mi nombre, dijeron: Glorifíquese Jehová. Mas él se mostrará con alegría vuestra, y ellos serán confundidos.
6Voz de alboroto de la ciudad, voz del templo, voz de Jehová que da el pago á sus enemigos.
7Antes que estuviese de parto, parió; antes que le viniesen dolores parió hijo.
8¿Quién oyó cosa semejante? ¿quién vió cosa tal? ¿parirá la tierra en un día? ¿nacerá una nación de una vez? Pues en cuanto Sión estuvo de parto, parió sus hijos.
9¿Yo que hago parir, no pariré? dijo Jehová. ¿Yo que hago engendrar, seré detenido? dice el Dios tuyo.
10Alegraos con Jerusalem, y gozaos con ella, todos los que la amáis: llenaos con ella de gozo, todos los que os enlutáis por ella:
11Para que maméis y os saciéis de los pechos de sus consolaciones; para que ordeñéis, y os deleitéis con el resplandor de su gloria.
12Porque así dice Jehová: He aquí que yo extiendo sobre ella paz como un río, y la gloria de las gentes como un arroyo que sale de madre; y mamaréis, y sobre el lado seréis traídos, y sobre las rodillas seréis regalados.
13Como aquel á quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré yo á vosotros, y en Jerusalem tomaréis consuelo.
14Y veréis, y alegraráse vuestro corazón, y vuestros huesos reverdecerán como la hierba: y la mano de Jehová para con sus siervos será conocida, y se airará contra sus enemigos.
15Porque he aquí que Jehová vendrá con fuego, y sus carros como torbellino, para tornar su ira en furor, y su reprensión en llama de fuego.
16Porque Jehová juzgará con fuego y con su espada á toda carne: y los muertos de Jehová serán multiplicados.
17Los que se santifican y los que se purifican en los huertos, unos tras otros, los que comen carne de puerco, y abominación, y ratón; juntamente serán talados, dice Jehová.
18Porque yo entiendo sus obras y sus pensamientos: tiempo vendrá para juntar todas las gentes y lenguas; y vendrán, y verán mi gloria.
19Y pondré entre ellos señal, y enviaré de los escapados de ellos á las gentes, á Tarsis, á Pul y Lud, que disparan arco, á Tubal y á Javán, á las islas apartadas que no oyeron de mí, ni vieron mi gloria; y publicarán mi gloria entre las gentes.
20Y traerán á todos vuestros hermanos de entre todas las naciones, por presente á Jehová, en caballos, en carros, en literas, y en mulos, y en camellos, á mi santo monte de Jerusalem, dice Jehová, al modo que los hijos de Israel traen el presente en vasos limpios á la casa de Jehová.
21Y tomaré también de ellos para sacerdotes y Levitas, dice Jehová.
22Porque como los cielos nuevos y la nueva tierra, que yo hago, permanecen delante de mí, dice Jehová, así permanecerá vuestra simiente y vuestro nombre.
23Y será que de mes en mes, y de sábado en sábado, vendrá toda carne á adorar delante de mí, dijo Jehová.
24Y saldrán, y verán los cadáveres de los hombres que se rebelaron contra mí: porque su gusano nunca morirá, ni su fuego se apagará; y serán abominables á toda carne.

1Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
5Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
7Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.
10Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
11That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
15For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
18For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
19And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
20And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.
22For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

1The LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?
2For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says the LORD: “but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.
3He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.
4I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears on them, because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they didn’t listen, but they did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”
5Hear the LORD’s word, you who tremble at his word: “Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy;’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.

12For the LORD says, “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream, and you will nurse. You will be carried on her side, and will be dandled on her knees.
13As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
14You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones will flourish like the tender grass. The LORD’s hand will be known among his servants; and he will have indignation against his enemies.
15For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; to give his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16For the LORD will execute judgment by fire and by his sword on all flesh; and those slain by the LORD will be many.
