Dieron, pues, aviso a la casa de David, diciendo: La Siria se ha coligado con Efraín, y se conmovió el corazón de Acaz, y el corazón de su pueblo, a la manera que se agitan los árboles en los bosques con el ímpetu del viento.
ACONTECIÓ en los días de Achâz hijo de Jotham, hijo de Uzzías, rey de Judá, que Rezín rey de Siria, y Peca hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, subieron á Jerusalem para combatirla; mas no la pudieron tomar.
And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

Y dijo el Señor a Isaías: Ve, sal al encuentro de Acaz, tú y el hijo que te queda, Jasub, al último del canal que conduce el agua a la piscina superior, por el camino que conduce al campo del Batanero.
Y vino la nueva á la casa de David, diciendo: Siria se ha confederado con Ephraim. Y estremeciósele el corazón, y el corazón de su pueblo, como se estremecen los árboles del monte á causa del viento.
And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.
Y le dirás: Estáte quedo: No temas, ni se acobarde tu corazón a la vista de esos dos cabos de tizones que humean en furiosa ira, Rasín, rey de Siria, y el hijo de Romeía,
Entonces dijo Jehová á Isaías: Sal ahora al encuentro de Achâz, tú, y Sear-jasub tu hijo, al cabo del conducto de la Pesquera de arriba, en el camino de la heredad del Lavador,
Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field;
Then the LORD said to Isaiah, “Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller’s field.
y por más que hayan maquinado pésimos designios contra ti la Siria, Efraín y el hijo de Romeía, diciendo:
Y dile: Guarda, y repósate; no temas, ni se enternezca tu corazón á causa de estos dos cabos de tizón que humean, por el furor de la ira de Rezín y del Siro, y del hijo de Remalías.
And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
Tell him, ‘Be careful, and keep calm. Don’t be afraid, neither let your heart be faint because of these two tails of smoking torches, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
Marchemos contra Judá y provoquémosle, y arranquémoslo a viva fuerza, y en medio de él pongamos por rey al hijo de Tabeel.
Por haber acordado maligno consejo contra ti el Siro, con Ephraim y con el hijo de Remalías, diciendo:
Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

Pues esto dice el Señor Dios: No cuajará, ni tendrá efecto tal designio;
Vamos contra Judá, y la despertaremos, y la partiremos entre nosotros, y pondremos en medio de ella por rey al hijo de Tabeel:
Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
“Let’s go up against Judah, and tear it apart, and let’s divide it among ourselves, and set up a king within it, even the son of Tabeel.”
antes bien Damasco, capital de la Siria, y Rasín, jefe de Damasco, serán destruidos, y de aquí a sesenta y cinco años Efraín dejará de ser pueblo;
El Señor Jehová dice así: No subsistirá, ni será.
Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.”
Y no será Samaria capital de Efraín, ni el hijo de Romeía jefe de Samaria. Si vosotros no creyereis, tampoco tendréis estabilidad.
Porque la cabeza de Siria es Damasco, y la cabeza de Damasco, Rezín: y dentro de sesenta y cinco años Ephraim será quebrantado hasta dejar de ser pueblo.
For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.

Y habló de nuevo el Señor a Acaz, diciendo:
Entretanto la cabeza de Ephraim es Samaria, y la cabeza de Samaria el hijo de Remalías. Si vosotros no creyereis, de cierto no permaneceréis.
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.’”
Pide a tu gusto al Señor tu Dios una señal o prodigio, sea del profundo del infierno, sea de arriba en lo más alto del cielo.
Y habló más Jehová á Achâz, diciendo:
Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

Y respondió Acaz: No pediré tal, por no tentar al Señor.
Pide para ti señal de Jehová tu Dios, demandándola en lo profundo, ó arriba en lo alto.
Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
“Ask a sign of the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”
Entonces dijo Isaías: Oye, pues, tú ahora, ¡oh prosapia de David! ¿Acaso os parece poco el hacer agravio a los hombres, que osáis también hacerlo a mi Dios?
Y respondió Achâz: No pediré, y no tentaré á Jehová.
But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
But Ahaz said, “I won’t ask. I won’t tempt the LORD.”
Por tanto el mismo Señor os dará la señal: Sabed que una virgen concebirá y tendrá un hijo, y su nombre será Emmanuel, o Dios con nosotros.
Dijo entonces Isaías: Oid ahora, casa de David. ¿Os es poco el ser molestos á los hombres, sino que también lo seáis á mi Dios?
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?
Manteca y miel comerá, hasta que sepa desechar lo malo y escoger lo bueno.
Por tanto el mismo Señor os dará señal: He aquí que la virgen concebirá, y parirá hijo, y llamará su nombre Emmanuel.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Porque antes que el niño sepa desechar lo malo y escoger lo bueno, la tierra que tú detestas será desamparada de sus dos reyes.
Comerá manteca y miel, para que sepa desechar lo malo y escoger lo bueno.
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

Enviará el Señor por medio del rey de los asirios, sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo y sobre la casa de tu padre tiempos tales y tan aciagos, cuales no existieron desde el día en que Efraín se separó de Judá.
Porque antes que el niño sepa desechar lo malo y escoger lo bueno, la tierra que tú aborreces será dejada de sus dos reyes.
For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Y sucederá que en aquel día el Señor dará un silbido a los pueblos que cubren como moscas lo último de los ríos de Egipto, y a otros que armados de saetas, están como abejas en la tierra de Asur;
Jehová hará venir sobre ti, y sobre tu pueblo, y sobre la casa de tu padre, días cuales nunca vinieron desde el día que Ephraim se apartó de Judá, es á saber, al rey de Asiria.
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.

y vendrán volando, y posarán todas en las cañadas de los torrentes, y en las aberturas de las peñas, y en todos los matorrales, y en todos los resquicios.
Y acontecerá que aquel día silbará Jehová á la mosca que está en el fin de los ríos de Egipto, y á la abeja que está en la tierra de Asiria.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

Aquel día el Señor por medio de una navaja alquilada, esto es, por medio de aquellos que habitan en la otra parte del río Eufrates, por medio del rey de los asirios, raerá todas las cabezas, el vello de los pies y todas las barbas.
Y vendrán, y se asentarán todos en los valles desiertos, y en las cavernas de las piedras, y en todos los zarzales, y en todas las matas.
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

Y sucederá aquel día que un hombre criará una vaca y dos ovejas;
En aquel día raerá el Señor con navaja alquilada, con los que habitan de la otra parte del río, á saber, con el rey de Asiria, cabeza y pelos de los pies; y aun la barba también quitará.
In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

y por sobra de leche comerá manteca; porque manteca y miel comerá todo el que quedare en el país.
Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que críe un hombre una vaca y dos ovejas;
And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

Y acaecerá aquel día que todo lugar en que antes mil cepas valían mil monedas de plata, no producirá más que espinas y zarzas.
Y será que á causa de la abundancia de leche que darán, comerá manteca: cierto manteca y miel comerá el que quedare en medio de la tierra.
And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

Entrarán en él con flechas y con arco, porque malezas y espinas cubrirán toda aquella tierra.
Acontecerá también en aquel tiempo, que el lugar donde había mil vides que valían mil siclos de plata, será para los espinos y cardos.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
It will happen in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels, will be for briers and thorns.
Y todos los montes que se cultivaban con azada y pico, no tendrán ya para resguardo el terror de las espinas y de las zarzas, que los cerraban, sino que servirán para pasto de bueyes, y para majada de los ganados.
Con saetas y arco irán allá; porque toda la tierra será espinos y cardos.
With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
People will go there with arrows and with bow, because all the land will be briers and thorns.
Me dijo más el Señor: Toma un pergamino grande, y escribe en él en caracteres claros e inteligibles: Date prisa a tomar los despojos, apresúrate a coger la presa.
Y á todos los montes que se cavaban con azada, no llegará allá el temor de los espinos y de los cardos: mas serán para pasto de bueyes, y para ser hollados de los ganados.
And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
All the hills that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not come there for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending out of oxen, and for sheep to tread on.”
