Isaías 8

And the Lord said to me, Take to thyself a volume of a great new Alex. paper, or, parchment book, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning the making a rapid plunder of spoils; for it is near at hand.

Y DÍJOME Jehová: Tómate un gran volumen, y escribe en él en estilo de hombre tocante á Maher-salal-hash-baz.

Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

The LORD said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;

And make me witnesses of faithful men, Urias, and Zacharias the son of Barachias.

Y junté conmigo por testigos fieles á Urías sacerdote, y á Zacarías hijo de Jeberechîas.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”

And I went in to the prophetess; and she conceived, and bore a son. And the Lord said to me, Call his name, Spoil quickly, plunder speedily.

Y juntéme con la profetisa, la cual concibió, y parió un hijo. Y díjome Jehová: Ponle por nombre Maher-salal-hash-baz.

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’

For before the child shall know how to call his father or his mother, one shall take the power of Damascus and the spoils of Samaria before the king of the Assyrians.

Porque antes que el niño sepa decir, Padre mío, y Madre mía, será quitada la fuerza de Damasco y los despojos de Samaria, en la presencia del rey de Asiria.

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria.”

And the Lord spoke to me yet again, saying,

Otra vez tornó Jehová á hablarme, diciendo:

The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,

Because this people chooses not the water of Siloam that goes softly, but wills to have Rassin, and the son of Romelias to be king over you;

Por cuanto desechó este pueblo las aguas de Siloé, que corren mansamente, y holgóse con Rezín y con el hijo de Remalías;

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

“Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon you the water of the river, strong and abundant, even the king of the Assyrians, and his glory: and he shall come up over every valley of yours, and shall walk over every wall of yours:

He aquí por tanto que el Señor hace subir sobre ellos aguas de ríos, impetuosas y muchas, á saber, al rey de Asiria con todo su poder; el cual subirá sobre todos sus ríos, y pasará sobre todas sus riberas:

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.

and he shall take away from Juda every man who shall be able to lift up his head, and every one able to accomplish anything; and his camp shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Heb. Immanuel God with us.

Y pasando hasta Judá, inundará, y sobrepujará, y llegará hasta la garganta; y extendiendo sus alas, llenará la anchura de tu tierra, oh Emmanuel.

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through. It will reach even to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, O Immanuel.

Know, ye Gentiles, and be conquered; hearken ye, even to the extremity of the earth: be conquered, after ye strengthened yourselves; for even if ye should again strengthen yourselves, ye shall again be conquered.

Juntaos, pueblos, y seréis quebrantados; oid todos los que sois de lejanas tierras: poneos á punto, y seréis quebrantados; apercibíos, y seréis quebrantados.

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!

And whatsoever counsel ye shall take, the Lord shall bring it to nought; and whatsoever word ye shall speak, it shall not stand among you: for God is with us.

Tomad consejo, y será deshecho; proferid palabra, y no será firme: porque Dios con nosotros.

Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”

Thus saith the Lord, With a strong hand they Gr. disobey revolt from the course of the way of this people, saying,

Porque Jehová me dijo de esta manera con mano fuerte, y enseñóme que no caminase por el camino de este pueblo, diciendo:

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

For the LORD spoke this to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

Let them not say, It is hard, for whatsoever this people says, is hard: but fear not ye their fear, neither be dismayed.

No digáis, Conjuración, á todas las cosas á que este pueblo dice, Conjuración; ni temáis lo que temen, ni tengáis miedo.

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

“Don’t call a conspiracy all that this people call a conspiracy. Don’t fear their threats or be terrorized.

Sanctify ye the Lord himself; and Or, let him be he shall be thy fear.

A Jehová de los ejércitos, á él santificad: sea él vuestro temor, y él sea vuestro miedo.

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

The LORD of Armies is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.

And if thou shalt trust in him, he shall be to thee for a sanctuary; and ye shall not come against him as against Ro 9:33 a stumbling-stone, neither as against the falling of a rock: but the houses of Jacob are in a snare, and the dwellers in Jerusalem in a pit.

Entonces él será por santuario; mas á las dos casas de Israel por piedra para tropezar, y por tropezadero para caer, y por lazo y por red al morador de Jerusalem.

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.

Therefore many among them shall be weak, and fall, and be crushed; and they shall draw nigh, and men shall be taken securely.

Y muchos tropezarán entre ellos, y caerán, y serán quebrantados: enredaránse, y serán presos.

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”

Then shall those who seal themselves that they may Alex.—’not’ not learn the law be made manifest.

Ata el testimonio, sella la ley entre mis discípulos.

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

Wrap up the covenant. Seal the law among my disciples.

And one shall say, I will wait for God, who has turned away his face from the house of Jacob, and I will trust in him.

Esperaré pues á Jehová, el cual escondió su rostro de la casa de Jacob, y á él aguardaré.

And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

I will wait for the LORD, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Heb 2:18 Behold I and the children which God has given me: and they shall be for signs and wonders in the house of Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in mount Sion.

He aquí, yo y los hijos que me dió Jehová, por señales y prodigios en Israel, de parte de Jehová de los ejércitos que mora en el monte de Sión.

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of Armies, who dwells in Mount Zion.

And if they should say to you, Seek Gr. ventriloquists those who have in them a divining spirit, and them that speak out of the earth, them that speak vain words, who speak out of their belly: shall not a nation diligently seek to their God? why do they seek to the dead concerning the living?

Y si os dijeren: Preguntad á los pythones y á los adivinos, que susurran hablando, responded: ¿No consultará el pueblo á su Dios? ¿Apelará por los vivos á los muertos?

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

For he has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no See Hebrew gifts to give for it.

¡A la ley y al testimonio! Si no dijeren conforme á esto, es porque no les ha amanecido.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

And famine shall come sorely upon you, and it shall come to pass, that when ye shall be hungry, ye shall be grieved, and ye shall speak ill of the prince and your fathers’ ordinances: and they shall look up to heaven above,

Y pasarán por él fatigados y hambrientos, y acontecerá que teniendo hambre, se enojarán y maldecirán á su rey y á su Dios, levantando el rostro en alto.

And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry. It will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse their king and their God. They will turn their faces upward,

and they shall look on the earth below, and behold severe distress, and darkness, affliction, and Or, a strait anguish, and darkness so that one cannot see; and he that is in anguish shall not be distressed only for a time.

Y mirarán á la tierra, y he aquí tribulación y tiniebla, oscuridad y angustia; y serán sumidos en las tinieblas.

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

then look to the earth and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
