Y DÍJOME Jehová: Tómate un gran volumen, y escribe en él en estilo de hombre tocante á Maher-salal-hash-baz.
Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
The LORD said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
y cohabité con la profetisa mi esposa, y ella concibió y tuvo un hijo. Y me dijo el Señor: Ponle un nombre que signifique coge aprisa los despojos, apresúrate a coger la presa .
Y junté conmigo por testigos fieles á Urías sacerdote, y á Zacarías hijo de Jeberechîas.
And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”
Porque antes que sepa el niño pronunciar los nombres de padre y madre, ya el rey de los asirios habrá destruido el poder de Damasco, y saqueado Samaria.
Y juntéme con la profetisa, la cual concibió, y parió un hijo. Y díjome Jehová: Ponle por nombre Maher-salal-hash-baz.
And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

Y me habló el Señor de nuevo diciendo:
Porque antes que el niño sepa decir, Padre mío, y Madre mía, será quitada la fuerza de Damasco y los despojos de Samaria, en la presencia del rey de Asiria.
For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria.”
Por cuanto este pueblo ha desechado las aguas de Siloé, que corren sosegadamente en Sión, y ha preferido a Rasín y al hijo de Romeía,
Otra vez tornó Jehová á hablarme, diciendo:
The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,

por esto he aquí que el Señor traerá sobre ellos las aguas del río Eufrates impetuosas y abundantes, (esto es, al rey de los asirios con todas sus fuerzas) y subirán sobre todos sus arroyos, y se extenderán por todas sus riberas,
Por cuanto desechó este pueblo las aguas de Siloé, que corren mansamente, y holgóse con Rezín y con el hijo de Remalías;
Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
“Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
y romperán por el país de Judá, y al pasar lo inundarán todo, y llegarán hasta la garganta. Y él con la anchura de sus alas o escuadrones llenará, ¡oh Emmanuel!, todo el espacio de tu tierra.
He aquí por tanto que el Señor hace subir sobre ellos aguas de ríos, impetuosas y muchas, á saber, al rey de Asiria con todo su poder; el cual subirá sobre todos sus ríos, y pasará sobre todas sus riberas:
Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.
Reuníos, ¡oh pueblos!, y venid; que habéis de ser vencidos; vosotras todas, ¡oh regiones las más remotas!, escuchad: Armaos de coraje, y seréis vencidas; formaos en buen orden, y seréis vencidas.
Y pasando hasta Judá, inundará, y sobrepujará, y llegará hasta la garganta; y extendiendo sus alas, llenará la anchura de tu tierra, oh Emmanuel.
And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through. It will reach even to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, O Immanuel.
Haced planes, y serán desbaratados; dad órdenes y no se ejecutarán; porque Dios está con nosotros.
Juntaos, pueblos, y seréis quebrantados; oid todos los que sois de lejanas tierras: poneos á punto, y seréis quebrantados; apercibíos, y seréis quebrantados.
Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!
Pues esto me dijo el Señor cuando con mano poderosa me corrigió, advirtiéndome que no siguiese los pasos de este pueblo: Mira,
Tomad consejo, y será deshecho; proferid palabra, y no será firme: porque Dios con nosotros.
Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”
no estéis diciendo: Conspiración; pues no habla de otra cosa este pueblo que de conspiración; antes bien no temáis lo que tanto él teme, y no os amilanéis.
Porque Jehová me dijo de esta manera con mano fuerte, y enseñóme que no caminase por el camino de este pueblo, diciendo:
For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
For the LORD spoke this to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
Al Señor de los ejércitos, a él solo glorificad; él solo sea el que os haga temer y temblar. Y él será el que os santifique.
No digáis, Conjuración, á todas las cosas á que este pueblo dice, Conjuración; ni temáis lo que temen, ni tengáis miedo.
Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
“Don’t call a conspiracy all that this people call a conspiracy. Don’t fear their threats or be terrorized.
Al paso que será piedra de tropiezo y piedra de escándalo para las dos casas de Israel; y lazo y ruina para los habitantes de Jerusalén .
A Jehová de los ejércitos, á él santificad: sea él vuestro temor, y él sea vuestro miedo.
Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
The LORD of Armies is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.
Y muchísimos de ellos tropezarán y caerán, y se harán pedazos, y se verán cogidos en el lazo, y quedarán presos.
Entonces él será por santuario; mas á las dos casas de Israel por piedra para tropezar, y por tropezadero para caer, y por lazo y por red al morador de Jerusalem.
And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.
Recoge ahora el testimonio; sella la ley para mis discípulos.
Y muchos tropezarán entre ellos, y caerán, y serán quebrantados: enredaránse, y serán presos.
And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”
Yo, sin embargo, tengo puesta mi esperanza en el Señor, que ha escondido su rostro de la casa de Jacob , y en esta esperanza perseveraré.
Ata el testimonio, sella la ley entre mis discípulos.
Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Wrap up the covenant. Seal the law among my disciples.
Me veis aquí a mí y a mis hijos, que me dio el Señor para que sirvan de señal y portento a Israel, de parte del Señor de los ejércitos, que habita en el monte de Sión.
Esperaré pues á Jehová, el cual escondió su rostro de la casa de Jacob, y á él aguardaré.
And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
I will wait for the LORD, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Que si os dijeren: Consultad a los pitones y a los adivinos, los cuales rechinan en sus encantamientos, responded: Pues, ¿no ha de acudir el pueblo a su Dios? ¿A los muertos ha de recurrir para saber de los que viven?
He aquí, yo y los hijos que me dió Jehová, por señales y prodigios en Israel, de parte de Jehová de los ejércitos que mora en el monte de Sión.
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of Armies, who dwells in Mount Zion.
A la ley más bien y al arca santa es a donde ha de recurrir. Que si no hablaren conforme a lo dicho, no amanecerá para ellos la luz del día.
Y si os dijeren: Preguntad á los pythones y á los adivinos, que susurran hablando, responded: ¿No consultará el pueblo á su Dios? ¿Apelará por los vivos á los muertos?
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Y la luz pasará por su casa sin detenerse, y ellos caerán por el suelo, y tendrán hambre; y cuando estén hambrientos se enfurecerán y maldecirán a su rey y a su Dios; y levantarán los ojos hacia arriba,
¡A la ley y al testimonio! Si no dijeren conforme á esto, es porque no les ha amanecido.
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
y los bajarán hacia tierra, y no verán sino tribulación, y tinieblas, y abatimiento, y angustia, y lobreguez que los persigue, y no podrán, por más que hagan, librarse de su gran congoja.
Y pasarán por él fatigados y hambrientos, y acontecerá que teniendo hambre, se enojarán y maldecirán á su rey y á su Dios, levantando el rostro en alto.
And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry. It will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse their king and their God. They will turn their faces upward,
Primero fue menos afligida la tierra de Zabulón y la tierra de Neftalí, y después fue gravemente herida la costa del mar, la Galilea de las naciones, más allá del Jordán.
Y mirarán á la tierra, y he aquí tribulación y tiniebla, oscuridad y angustia; y serán sumidos en las tinieblas.
And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
then look to the earth and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
