(H8-23) Ma le tenebre non dureranno sempre per la terra ch’è ora nell’angoscia. Come ne’ tempi passati Iddio coprì d’obbrobrio il paese di Zabulon e il paese di Neftali, così nei tempi avvenire coprirà di gloria la terra vicina al mare, di là del Giordano, la Galilea de’ Gentili.
AUNQUE no será esta oscuridad tal como la aflicción que le vino en el tiempo que livianamente tocaron la primera vez á la tierra de Zabulón, y á la tierra de Nephtalí; y después cuando agravaron por la vía de la mar, de esa parte del Jordán, en Galilea de las gentes.
Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

(H9-1) Il popolo che camminava nelle tenebre, vede una gran luce; su quelli che abitavano il paese dell’ombra della morte, la luce risplende.
El pueblo que andaba en tinieblas vió gran luz: los que moraban en tierra de sombra de muerte, luz resplandeció sobre ellos.
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

(H9-2) Tu moltiplichi il popolo, tu gli largisci una gran gioia; ed egli si rallegra nel tuo cospetto come uno si rallegra al tempo della mèsse, come uno giubila quando si spartisce il bottino.
Aumentando la gente, no aumentaste la alegría. Alegraránse delante de ti como se alegran en la siega, como se gozan cuando reparten despojos.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the plunder.
(H9-3) Poiché il giogo che gravava su lui, il bastone che gli percoteva il dosso, la verga di chi l’opprimeva tu li spezzi, come nel giorno di Madian.
Porque tú quebraste su pesado yugo, y la vara de su hombro, y el cetro de su exactor, como en el día de Madián.
For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

(H9-4) Poiché ogni calzatura portata dal guerriero nella mischia, ogni mantello avvoltolato nel sangue, saran dati alle fiamme, saran divorati dal fuoco.
Porque toda batalla de quien pelea es con estruendo, y con revolcamiento de vestidura en sangre: mas esto será para quema, y pábulo del fuego.
For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.
(H9-5) Poiché un fanciullo ci è nato, un fanciullo ci è stato dato, e l’imperio riposerà sulle sue spalle; sarà chiamato Consigliere ammirabile, Dio potente, Padre Eterno, Principe della Pace,

(H9-6) per dare incremento all’impero e una pace senza fine al trono di Davide e al suo regno, per stabilirlo fermamente e sostenerlo mediante il diritto e la giustizia, da ora in perpetuo: questo farà lo zelo dell’Eterno degli eserciti.
Lo dilatado de su imperio y la paz no tendrán término, sobre el trono de David, y sobre su reino, disponiéndolo y confirmándolo en juicio y en justicia desde ahora para siempre. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

(H9-7) il Signore manda una parola a Giacobbe, ed essa cade sopra a Israele.

(H9-8) Tutto il popolo ne avrà conoscenza, Efraim e gli abitanti della Samaria, che nel loro orgoglio e nella superbia del loro cuore dicono:

(H9-9) “I mattoni son caduti, ma noi costruiremo con pietre squadrate; i sicomori sono stati tagliati, ma noi li sostituiremo con dei cedri”.
Los ladrillos cayeron, mas edificaremos de cantería; cortaron los cabrahigos, mas cedros pondremos en su lugar.

(H9-10) Per questo l’Eterno farà sorgere contro il popolo gli avversari di Retsin, ed ecciterà i suoi nemici:
Empero Jehová ensalzará los enemigos de Rezín contra él, y juntará sus enemigos;

(H9-11) i Siri da oriente, i Filistei da occidente; ed essi divoreranno Israele a bocca spalancata. E, con tutto ciò, l’ira sua non si calma, e la sua mano rimane distesa.
De oriente los Siros, y los Filisteos de poniente; y con toda la boca se tragarán á Israel. Ni con todo eso ha cesado su furor, antes todavía su mano extendida.

(H9-12) Ma il popolo non torna a colui che lo colpisce, e non cerca l’Eterno degli eserciti.
Mas el pueblo no se convirtió al que lo hería, ni buscaron á Jehová de los ejércitos.
For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought the LORD of Armies.
(H9-13) Perciò l’Eterno reciderà da Israele capo e coda, palmizio e giunco, in un medesimo giorno.
Y Jehová cortará de Israel cabeza y cola, ramo y caña en un mismo día.

(H9-14) (L’anziano e il notabile sono il capo, e il profeta che insegna la menzogna è la coda).
El viejo y venerable de rostro es la cabeza: el profeta que enseña mentira, este es cola.
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

(H9-15) Quelli che guidano questo popolo lo sviano, e quelli che si lascian guidare vanno in perdizione.
Porque los gobernadores de este pueblo son engañadores; y sus gobernados, perdidos.
For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.
(H9-16) Perciò l’Eterno non si compiacerà de’ giovani del popolo, né avrà compassione de’ suoi orfani e delle sue vedove; poiché tutti quanti son empi e perversi, ed ogni bocca proferisce follia. E, con tutto ciò, la sua ira non si calma, e la sua mano rimane distesa.
Por tanto, el Señor no tomará contentamiento en sus mancebos, ni de sus huérfanos y viudas tendrá misericordia: porque todos son falsos y malignos, y toda boca habla despropósitos. Con todo esto no ha cesado su furor, antes todavía su mano extendida.

(H9-17) Poiché la malvagità arde come il fuoco, che divora rovi e pruni e divampa nel folto della foresta, donde s’elevano vorticosamente colonne di fumo.
Porque la maldad se encendió como fuego, cardos y espinas devorará; y encenderáse en lo espeso de la breña, y serán alzados como humo.
For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
(H9-18) Per l’ira dell’Eterno degli eserciti il paese è in fiamme, e il popolo è in preda al fuoco; nessuno risparmia il fratello.
Por la ira de Jehová de los ejércitos se oscureció la tierra, y será el pueblo como pábulo del fuego: el hombre no tendrá piedad de su hermano.
Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

(H9-19) Si saccheggia a destra, e si ha fame; si divora a sinistra, e non si è saziati; ognuno divora la carne del proprio braccio:
Cada uno hurtará á la mano derecha, y tendrá hambre; y comerá á la izquierda, y no se hartará: cada cual comerá la carne de su brazo:
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:
(H9-20) Manasse divora Efraim, ed Efraim Manasse; e insieme piomban su Giuda. E, con tutto ciò, l’ira sua non si calma, e la sua mano rimane distesa.
Manasés á Ephraim, y Ephraim á Manasés, y entrambos contra Judá. Ni con todo esto ha cesado su furor, antes todavía extendida su mano.
