Y JUNTÁNDOSE los varones de Ephraim, pasaron hacia el aquilón, y dijeron á Jephté: ¿Por qué fuiste á hacer guerra contra los hijos de Ammón, y no nos llamaste para que fuéramos contigo? Nosotros quemaremos á fuego tu casa contigo.
And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
The men of Ephraim were gathered together, and passed northward; and they said to Jephthah, “Why did you pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didn’t call us to go with you? We will burn your house around you with fire!”
Et Jephthé leur dit : J’ai eu un grand différend avec les enfants de Hammon, moi et mon peuple, et quand je vous ai appelés, vous ne m’avez point délivré de leurs mains.

Puis Jephthé ayant assemblé tous les gens de Galaad, combattit contre Ephraïm ; et ceux de Galaad battirent Ephraïm, parce qu’ils avaient dit : Vous êtes des échappés d’Ephraïm, Galaad est au milieu d’Ephraïm, au milieu de Manassé.
Y juntando Jephté á todos los varones de Galaad, peleó contra Ephraim; y los de Galaad hirieron á Ephraim, porque habían dicho: Vosotros sois fugitivos de Ephraim, vosotros sois Galaaditas entre Ephraim y Manasés.

Alors ils lui disaient : Dis un peu Schibboleth, et il disait Sibboleth, et ne pouvait point prononcer Schibboleth; sur quoi se saisissant de lui ils le mettaient à mort au passage du Jourdain. Et en ce temps-là il y eut quarante-deux mille hommes d’Ephraïm qui furent tués.

then they said to him, “Now say ‘Shibboleth;’” and he said “Sibboleth”; for he couldn’t manage to pronounce it correctly, then they seized him and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time, forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.
