Una vez más Israel pecó adorando a otros dioses, por lo que el Señor dejó que fueran conquistados por los filisteos, quienes los tuvieron bajo su dominio durante cuarenta años.

Y LOS hijos de Israel tornaron á hacer lo malo en los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová los entregó en mano de los Filisteos, por cuarenta años.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

Un día el ángel del Señor se le apareció a la esposa de Manoa, de la tribu de Dan, que vivía en la ciudad de Zora. Ella no tenía hijos, pero el ángel le dijo: ―Aun cuando has sido estéril por tanto tiempo, pronto concebirás y darás a luz un hijo.

Y había un hombre de Sora, de la tribu de Dan, el cual se llamaba Manoa; y su mujer era estéril, que nunca había parido.

And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.

There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless.

A esta mujer apareció el ángel de Jehová, y díjole: He aquí que tú eres estéril, y no has parido; mas concebirás y parirás un hijo.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

The LORD’s angel appeared to the woman, and said to her, “See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive and bear a son.

No bebas vino ni cerveza, ni comas nada que sea ceremonialmente impuro.

Ahora, pues, mira que ahora no bebas vino, ni sidra, ni comas cosa inmunda.

Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:

Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing;

No le cortarás el cabello a tu hijo porque será nazareo, separado para el servicio de Dios desde su nacimiento. Él comenzará a salvar a los israelitas de manos de los filisteos.

Porque tú te harás embarazada, y parirás un hijo: y no subirá navaja sobre su cabeza, porque aquel niño será Nazareo á Dios desde el vientre, y él comenzará á salvar á Israel de mano de los Filisteos.

For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

for, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”

La mujer corrió y se lo contó a su marido: ―Un varón de Dios se me apareció. Pienso que debe ser el ángel del Señor, porque tenía un aspecto muy glorioso. No le pregunté de dónde era, y él no me dijo su nombre,

Y la mujer vino y contólo á su marido, diciendo: Un varón de Dios vino á mí, cuyo aspecto era como el aspecto de un ángel de Dios, terrible en gran manera; y no le pregunté de dónde ni quién era, ni tampoco él me dijo su nombre.

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name;

pero me dijo: “Vas a tener un hijo varón”. Y me dijo que no bebiera vino ni cerveza, y que no comiera alimentos impuros, porque el bebé iba a ser nazareo, que estaría consagrado a Dios desde el momento de su nacimiento hasta el día de su muerte.

Y díjome: He aquí que tú concebirás, y parirás un hijo: por tanto, ahora no bebas vino, ni sidra, ni comas cosa inmunda; porque este niño desde el vientre será Nazareo á Dios hasta el día de su muerte.

But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink. Don’t eat any unclean thing, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’”

Entonces Manoa oró: ―Oh Señor, que venga nuevamente para que nos instruya mejor acerca del hijo que nos vas a dar.

Entonces oró Manoa á Jehová, y dijo: Ah, Señor mío, yo te ruego que aquel varón de Dios que enviaste, torne ahora á venir á nosotros, y nos enseñe lo que hayamos de hacer con el niño que ha de nacer.

Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.

Then Manoah entreated the LORD, and said, “Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.”

El Señor contestó su oración, y el ángel de Dios se le apareció nuevamente a su esposa estando ella en el campo. Pero otra vez estaba sola. Manoa no estaba con ella.

Y Dios oyó la voz de Manoa: y el ángel de Dios volvió otra vez á la mujer, estando ella en el campo; mas su marido Manoa no estaba con ella.

And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.

God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah, her husband, wasn’t with her.

La mujer corrió en busca de su esposo y le dijo: ―Aquel varón está aquí otra vez.

Y la mujer corrió prontamente, y noticiólo á su marido, diciéndole: Mira que se me ha aparecido aquel varón que vino á mí el otro día.

And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.

The woman hurried and ran, and told her husband, saying to him, “Behold, the man who came to me that day has appeared to me.”

Manoa corrió con su esposa y le preguntó: ―¿Eres tú la persona que le habló a mi esposa el otro día? ―Sí —le respondió—. Yo soy.

Y levantóse Manoa, y siguió á su mujer; y así que llegó al varón, díjole: ¿Eres tú aquel varón que hablaste á la mujer? Y él dijo: Yo soy.

And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.

Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” He said, “I am.”

Entonces Manoa le preguntó: —¿Cómo hemos de criar al niño cuando nazca?

Entonces Manoa dijo: Cúmplase pues tu palabra. ¿Qué orden se tendrá con el niño, y qué ha de hacer?

And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?

Manoah said, “Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?”

Y el ángel le contestó: ―Que tu esposa observe lo siguiente:

Y el ángel de Jehová respondió á Manoa: La mujer se guardará de todas las cosas que yo le dije:

And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.

The LORD’s angel said to Manoah, “Of all that I said to the woman let her beware.

No comerá ni uvas ni pasas, ni beberá vino ni cerveza, ni comerá nada que sea considerado inmundo para un judío.

Ella no comerá cosa que proceda de vid que da vino; no beberá vino ni sidra, y no comerá cosa inmunda: ha de guardar todo lo que le mandé.

She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. Let her observe all that I commanded her.”

―Permítenos que te preparemos algo de comer —le dijo Manoa al ángel.

Entonces Manoa dijo al ángel de Jehová: Ruégote permitas que te detengamos, y aderezaremos un cabrito que poner delante de ti.

And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.

Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “Please stay with us, that we may make a young goat ready for you.”

—Me quedaré —le contestó el ángel—, pero no voy a comer nada. Si deseas ofrecerme algo, ofrécelo en sacrificio al Señor. Manoa no sabía todavía que aquél era el ángel del Señor

Y el ángel de Jehová respondió á Manoa: Aunque me detengas no comeré de tu pan: mas si quisieres hacer holocausto, sacrifícalo á Jehová. Y no sabía Manoa que aquél fuese ángel de Jehová.

And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.

The LORD’s angel said to Manoah, “Though you detain me, I won’t eat your bread. If you will prepare a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD.” For Manoah didn’t know that he was the LORD’s angel.

y le preguntó cómo se llamaba. ―Cuando todo esto se cumpla y el niño nazca —le dijo al ángel—, queremos decir a todo el mundo que tú lo predijiste, y así te mostraremos nuestra gratitud.

Entonces dijo Manoa al ángel de Jehová: ¿Cómo es tu nombre, para que cuando se cumpliere tu palabra te honremos?

And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?

Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?”

―No me preguntes mi nombre —le respondió el ángel—, porque es un secreto.

Y el ángel de Jehová respondió: ¿Por qué preguntas por mi nombre, que es oculto?

And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?

The LORD’s angel said to him, “Why do you ask about my name, since it is incomprehensible?”

Entonces Manoa tomó un cabrito y una ofrenda de granos y la presentó como sacrificio al Señor; y el ángel hizo algo extraño y maravilloso:

Y Manoa tomó un cabrito de las cabras y un presente, y sacrificólo sobre una peña á Jehová: y el ángel hizo milagro á vista de Manoa y de su mujer.

So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.

So Manoah took the young goat with the meal offering, and offered it on the rock to the LORD. Then the angel did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched.

Cuando las llamas del altar ascendieron con sus lenguas hacia el cielo, y ante los ojos atónitos de Manoa y su esposa, el ángel ascendió en la columna de fuego. Manoa y su esposa se postraron rostro en tierra,

Porque aconteció que como la llama subía del altar hacia el cielo, el ángel de Jehová subió en la llama del altar á vista de Manoa y de su mujer, los cuales se postraron en tierra sobre sus rostros.

For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.

For when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, the LORD’s angel ascended in the flame of the altar. Manoah and his wife watched; and they fell on their faces to the ground.

y eso fue lo último que vieron de él. Manoa comprendió finalmente que había sido el ángel del Señor.

Y el ángel de Jehová no tornó á aparecer á Manoa ni á su mujer. Entonces conoció Manoa que era el ángel de Jehová.

But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.

But the LORD’s angel didn’t appear to Manoah or to his wife any more. Then Manoah knew that he was the LORD’s angel.

―Moriremos —lloraba Manoa junto a su esposa—. Hemos visto a Dios.

Y dijo Manoa á su mujer: Ciertamente moriremos, porque á Dios hemos visto.

And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, because we have seen God.”

Pero la esposa le dijo: ―Si el Señor quisiera matarnos, no habría aceptado nuestro holocausto y no se habría presentado, ni nos habría dicho las cosas maravillosas que nos ha dicho y no habría hecho estos milagros.

Y su mujer le respondió: Si Jehová nos quisiera matar, no tomara de nuestras manos el holocausto y el presente, ni nos hubiera mostrado todas estas cosas, ni en tal tiempo nos habría anunciado esto.

But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.

But his wife said to him, “If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he wouldn’t have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, and he wouldn’t have shown us all these things, nor would he have told us such things as these at this time.”

Cuando nació el hijo, le pusieron Sansón, y el Señor lo bendijo mientras crecía,

Y la mujer parió un hijo, y llamóle por nombre Samsón. Y el niño creció, y Jehová lo bendijo.

And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

y el Espíritu de Dios comenzó a manifestarse en él cuando visitaba los campamentos de la tribu de Dan que estaba entre las ciudades de Zora y Estaol.

Y el espíritu de Jehová comenzó á manifestarse en él en los campamentos de Dan, entre Sora y Esthaol.

And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

The LORD’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
