1Entonces Sansón fue a Gaza, y allí vio a una prostituta y se acostó con ella.
2Y se dijo a los habitantes de Gaza: Sansón está aquí. Así que se dieron la vuelta y lo vigilaron todo el día en la entrada de la ciudad, pero por la noche se quedaron callados y dijeron: “Cuando llegue la luz del día, lo mataremos”.
3Y Sansón estuvo allí hasta la mitad de la noche; luego se levantó y agarró las puertas de la ciudad, arrancándolas, junto con sus dos pilares y sus cerraduras, y las puso sobre su espalda y las llevó hasta la cima de la colina frente a Hebrón.
4Después de esto, se enamoró de una mujer en el valle de Sorec, llamada Dalila.
5Y los jefes de los filisteos se acercaron a ella y le dijeron: seduce a Sansón e investiga cuál es el secreto de su gran fuerza y cómo podríamos vencerlo y atarlo, y tenerlo sujeto; a cambio cada uno de nosotros te daremos mil cien siclos de plata.
6Entonces Dalila le dijo a Sansón: Dime ahora cuál es el secreto de tu gran fuerza y con que puedes ser atado para torturarte sin que te puedas desatar.
7Y le dijo Sansón: Si me atan con siete cuerdas de arco que aún no se han secado, me debilitaría y seré como cualquier otro hombre.
8Entonces los jefes de los filisteos le dieron siete cuerdas de arco que no se habían secado, y ella los tenía fuertemente atado alrededor de él.
9Ahora tenía hombres esperando secretamente en la habitación interior; Y ella le dijo: Los filisteos te atacan, Sansón. Y las cuerdas fueron rotas por él como se rompe un estambre cuando son tocadas por una llama de fuego. Así que el secreto de su fuerza no salió a la luz.
10Entonces Dalila dijo a Sansón: Mira, me has estado engañando; Ahora, dime verdaderamente, ¿cómo puedes ser puesto en ataduras?
11Y él le dijo: Si solo me atan con cuerdas nuevas que nunca han sido usadas, entonces me debilitaría y seré como cualquier otro hombre.
12Entonces Dalila tomó nuevas cuerdas, atándolo fuertemente a su alrededor, y le dijo: Los filisteos te atacan, Sansón! También había escondido los hombres en la habitación interior. Y las cuerdas se rompieron de sus brazos como hilos.
13Entonces Dalila dijo a Sansón: Hasta ahora te has burlado de mí y me has engañado; Ahora dime con sinceridad, ¿con que puedes ser atado? Y él le dijo a ella: “Si entretejes siete de mis rizos de mi cabello en el telar, me volveré débil y seré como cualquier otro hombre”.
14Entonces, mientras él dormía, ella consiguió entretejer siete rizos de su pelo en el telar y con la estaca y él telar bien clavada en el suelo; le gritó: “Los filisteos te atacan, Sansón” y Luego, despertándose de su sueño, se levantó rápidamente, tirando de la tela y la máquina juntos.
15Y ella le dijo: ¿Porqué dices que me amas cuando tu corazón no está conmigo? Tres veces te has burlado de mí y no me has dicho el secreto de tu gran fuerza.
16Así que día tras día ella no le dio paz, Sansón estaba fastidiado de la misma pregunta hasta que lo sacó de quicio.
17Y abriéndole todo su corazón, le dijo: Mi cabeza nunca ha sido tocada por una navaja de rasurar, porque he estado separado para Dios como nazareo desde el día de mi nacimiento: si mi cabello es rasurado, entonces perdería mi fuerza y me volveré débil, y seré como cualquier otro hombre.
18Y cuando Dalila vio que él le había dejado ver en su corazón, ella envió un mensaje a los jefes de los filisteos diciendo: Sube esta vez, porque él me ha dicho su secreto. Entonces los jefes de los filisteos se acercaron a ella, con el dinero en sus manos.
19Y ella lo hizo irse a dormir sobre sus rodillas; y ella envió por un hombre y le cortaron sus siete tiras de cabello; y ella comenzó a afligirlo, se debilitó y su fuerza se fue de él.
20Entonces ella dijo: Los filisteos te atacan Sansón! Y despertando de su sueño, dijo: Saldré como en otras ocasiones, liberándome. Pero él no estaba consciente de que el Señor se había ido de él.
21Entonces los filisteos lo tomaron y le sacaron los ojos; luego lo llevaron a Gaza y, encadenándolo con cadenas de bronce, lo pusieron a trabajar triturando grano en la prisión.
22Pero el crecimiento de su cabello comenzó de nuevo después de que fue cortado.
23Y los jefes de los filisteos se reunieron para hacer una gran ofrenda a Dagón su dios, y para alegrarse; porque dijeron: Nuestro dios ha entregado en nuestras manos a nuestro enemigo.
24Y cuando el pueblo lo vio, alabaron a su dios; porque ellos dijeron: Nuestro dios ha entregado en nuestras manos al que estaba luchando contra nosotros, que destruía nuestro país y que mató a gran parte de nosotros.
25Y cuando sus corazones estaban llenos de alegría, dijeron: Envía a Sansón para que nos divierta. Y sacaron a Sansón de la cárcel, y él los divirtió; Y lo pusieron entre los pilares.
26Y dijo Sansón al muchacho que lo tomó de la mano: Déjame poner mi mano en los pilares que sostienen el templo, para que yo pueda poner mi espalda contra ellos.
27Ahora la casa estaba llena de hombres y mujeres; y todos los príncipes de los filisteos estaban allí; y cerca de tres mil hombres y mujeres estaban en el techo, mirando mientras Sansón los divertía.
28Y Sansón, clamando al Señor, dijo: Oh Señor Dios, tenme ahora presente y hazme fuerte esta vez, oh Dios, para que puedan recibir un último pago los Filisteos por mi dos ojos.
29Luego, Sansón rodeó los dos pilares centrales que sostienen la casa, apoyando su peso sobre ellos, uno con la mano derecha y el otro con la izquierda.
30Y dijo Sansón: Que la muerte me alcance con los filisteos. Y sacó todas sus fuerzas, y la casa descendió sobre los jefes y sobre todas las personas que estaban en ella. Así que los muertos a quienes envió a la destrucción por su muerte fueron más que todos aquellos a quienes había enviado la destrucción en su vida.
31Entonces sus hermanos y la gente de su padre bajaron, lo levantaron y enterraron su cuerpo en la tierra entre Zora y Estaol, en el lugar de descanso de Manoa, su padre. Y él había sido juez de Israel por veinte años.

1Y FUÉ Samsón á Gaza, y vió allí una mujer ramera, y entró á ella.
2Y fué dicho á los de Gaza: Samsón es venido acá. Y cercáronlo, y pusiéronle espías toda aquella noche á la puerta de la ciudad: y estuvieron callados toda aquella noche, diciendo: Hasta la luz de la mañana; entonces lo mataremos.
3Mas Samsón durmió hasta la media noche; y á la media noche se levantó, y tomando las puertas de la ciudad con sus dos pilares y su cerrojo, echóselas al hombro, y fuése, y subióse con ellas á la cumbre del monte que está delante de Hebrón.
4Después de esto aconteció que se enamoró de una mujer en el valle de Sorec, la cual se llamaba Dalila.
5Y vinieron á ella los príncipes de los Filisteos, y dijéronle: Engáñale y sabe en qué consiste su grande fuerza, y cómo lo podríamos vencer, para que lo atemos y lo atormentemos; y cada uno de nosotros te dará mil y cien siclos de plata.
6Y Dalila dijo á Samsón: Yo te ruego que me declares en qué consiste tu grande fuerza, y cómo podrás ser atado para ser atormentado.
7Y respondióle Samsón: Si me ataren con siete mimbres verdes que aun no estén enjutos, entonces me debilitaré, y seré como cualquiera de los hombres.
8Y los príncipes de los Filisteos le trajeron siete mimbres verdes que aun no se habían enjugado, y atóle con ellos.
9Y estaban espías en casa de ella en una cámara. Entonces ella le dijo: ¡Samsón, los Filisteos sobre ti! Y él rompió los mimbres, como se rompe una cuerda de estopa cuando siente el fuego: y no se supo su fuerza.
10Entonces Dalila dijo á Samsón: He aquí tú me has engañado, y me has dicho mentiras: descúbreme pues ahora, yo te ruego, cómo podrás ser atado.
11Y él le dijo: Si me ataren fuertemente con cuerdas nuevas, con las cuales ninguna cosa se haya hecho, yo me debilitaré, y seré como cualquiera de los hombres.
12Y Dalila tomó cuerdas nuevas, y atóle con ellas, y díjole: ¡Samsón, los Filisteos sobre ti! Y los espías estaban en una cámara. Mas él las rompió de sus brazos como un hilo.
13Y Dalila dijo á Samsón: Hasta ahora me engañas, y tratas conmigo con mentiras. Descúbreme pues ahora cómo podrás ser atado. El entonces le dijo: Si tejieres siete guedejas de mi cabeza con la tela.
14Y ella hincó la estaca, y díjole: ¡Samsón, los Filisteos sobre ti! Mas despertando él de su sueño, arrancó la estaca del telar con la tela.
15Y ella le dijo: ¿Cómo dices, Yo te amo, pues que tu corazón no está conmigo? Ya me has engañado tres veces, y no me has aún descubierto en qué está tu gran fuerza.
16Y aconteció que, apretándole ella cada día con sus palabras é importunándole, su alma fué reducida á mortal angustia.
17Descubrióle pues todo su corazón, y díjole: Nunca á mi cabeza llegó navaja; porque soy Nazareo de Dios desde el vientre de mi madre. Si fuere rapado, mi fuerza se apartará de mí, y seré debilitado, y como todos los hombres.
18Y viendo Dalila que él le había descubierto todo su corazón, envió á llamar á los príncipes de los Filisteos, diciendo: Venid esta vez, porque él me ha descubierto todo su corazón. Y los príncipes de los Filisteos vinieron á ella, trayendo en su mano el dinero.
19Y ella hizo que él se durmiese sobre sus rodillas; y llamado un hombre, rapóle siete guedejas de su cabeza, y comenzó á afligirlo, pues su fuerza se apartó de él.
20Y díjole: ¡Samsón, los Filisteos sobre ti! Y luego que despertó él de su sueño, se dijo: Esta vez saldré como las otras, y me escaparé: no sabiendo que Jehová ya se había de él apartado.
21Mas los Filisteos echaron mano de él, y sacáronle los ojos, y le llevaron á Gaza; y le ataron con cadenas, para que moliese en la cárcel.
22Y el cabello de su cabeza comenzó á crecer, después que fué rapado.
23Entonces los príncipes de los Filisteos se juntaron para ofrecer sacrificio á Dagón su dios, y para alegrarse; y dijeron: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos á Samsón nuestro enemigo.
24Y viéndolo el pueblo, loaron á su dios, diciendo: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos á nuestro enemigo, y al destruidor de nuestra tierra, el cual había muerto á muchos de nosotros.
25Y aconteció que, yéndose alegrando el corazón de ellos, dijeron: Llamad á Samsón, para que divierta delante de nosotros. Y llamaron á Samsón de la cárcel, y hacía de juguete delante de ellos; y pusiéronlo entre las columnas.
26Y Samsón dijo al mozo que le guiaba de la mano: Acércame, y hazme tentar las columnas sobre que se sustenta la casa, para que me apoye sobre ellas.
27Y la casa estaba llena de hombres y mujeres: y todos los príncipes de los Filisteos estaban allí; y en el alto piso había como tres mil hombres y mujeres, que estaban mirando el escarnio de Samsón.
28Entonces clamó Samsón á Jehová, y dijo: Señor Jehová, acuérdate ahora de mí, y esfuérzame, te ruego, solamente esta vez, oh Dios, para que de una vez tome venganza de los Filisteos, por mis dos ojos.
29Asió luego Samsón las dos columnas del medio sobre las cuales se sustentaba la casa, y estribó en ellas, la una con la mano derecha, y la otra con la izquierda;
30Y dijo Samsón: Muera yo con los Filisteos. Y estribando con esfuerzo, cayó la casa sobre los príncipes, y sobre todo el pueblo que estaba en ella. Y fueron muchos más los que de ellos mató muriendo, que los que había muerto en su vida.
31Y descendieron sus hermanos y toda la casa de su padre, y tomáronle, y lleváronle, y le sepultaron entre Sora y Esthaol, en el sepulcro de su padre Manoa. Y él juzgó á Israel veinte años.

1Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.
2And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.
3And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
4And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
6And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
7And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
8Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
10And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.
11And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
12Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.
13And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.
14And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.
15And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.
16And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
17That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
18And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.
19And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
20And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
21But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
22Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.
23Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
24And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
25And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
26And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
27Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
28And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
29And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
31Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

1Samson went to Gaza, and saw there a prostitute, and went in to her.
2The Gazites were told, “Samson is here!” They surrounded him and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, “Wait until morning light; then we will kill him.”
3Samson lay until midnight, then arose at midnight and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city, with the two posts, and plucked them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders and carried them up to the top of the mountain that is before Hebron.
4It came to pass afterward that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5The lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and see in which his great strength lies, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will each give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”
6Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and what you might be bound to afflict you.”
7Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven green cords that were never dried, then shall I become weak, and be as another man.”
8Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green cords which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9Now she had an ambush waiting in the inner room. She said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” He broke the cords as a flax thread is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not known.
10Delilah said to Samson, “Behold, you have mocked me, and told me lies. Now please tell me how you might be bound.”
11He said to her, “If they only bind me with new ropes with which no work has been done, then I will become weak, and be as another man.”
12So Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them, then said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” The ambush was waiting in the inner room. He broke them off his arms like a thread.
13Delilah said to Samson, “Until now, you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me with what you might be bound.” He said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head with the fabric on the loom.”
14She fastened it with the pin, and said to him, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” He awakened out of his sleep, and plucked away the pin of the beam and the fabric.
15She said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.”
16When she pressed him daily with her words and urged him, his soul was troubled to death.
17He told her all his heart and said to her, “No razor has ever come on my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me and I will become weak, and be like any other man.”
18When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand.
19She made him sleep on her knees; and she called for a man and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
20She said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” He awoke out of his sleep, and said, “I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free.” But he didn’t know that the LORD had departed from him.
21The Philistines laid hold on him and put out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza and bound him with fetters of bronze; and he ground at the mill in the prison.
22However, the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.
23The lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice; for they said, “Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.”
24When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said, “Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand.”
25When their hearts were merry, they said, “Call for Samson, that he may entertain us.” They called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. They set him between the pillars;
26and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, “Allow me to feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean on them.”

28Samson called to the LORD, and said, “Lord GOD, remember me, please, and strengthen me, please, only this once, God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.”
