Y ACONTECIÓ después de la muerte de Josué, que los hijos de Israel consultaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros el primero á pelear contra los Cananeos?
Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Der HERR sprach: Juda soli ihn führen. Siehe, ich habe das Land in seine Hand gegeben.

Da sprach Juda zu seinem Bruder Simeon: Zeuch mit mir hinauf in meinem Los und laft uns wider die Kanaaniter streiten, so will ich wieder mit dir ziehen in deinem Los. Also zog Simeon mit ihm.

Da sprach Adoni-Besek: Siebenzig Konige mit verhauenen Daumen ihrer Hande und Füfte lasen auf unter meinem Tisch. Wie ich nun getan habe, so hat mir Gott wieder vergolten: Und man brachte ihn gen Jerusalem; daselbst starb er.
