Der HErr sprach: Juda soll ihn führen. Siehe, ich habe das Land in seine Hand gegeben.

Y ACONTECIÓ después de la muerte de Josué, que los hijos de Israel consultaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros el primero á pelear contra los Cananeos?

Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Da sprach Juda zu seinem Bruder Simeon: Zeuch mit mir hinauf in meinem Los und laß uns wider die Kanaaniter streiten, so will ich wieder mit dir ziehen in deinem Los. Also zog Simeon mit ihm.

Y Jehová respondió: Judá subirá; he aquí que yo he entregado la tierra en sus manos.

And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

Da nun Juda hinaufzog, gab ihm der HErr die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter in ihre Hände; und schlugen zu Besek zehntausend Mann.

Y Judá dijo á Simeón su hermano: Sube conmigo á mi suerte, y peleemos contra el Cananeo, y yo también iré contigo á tu suerte. Y Simeón fué con él.

And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.

Und fanden den Adoni-Besek zu Besek und stritten wider ihn; und schlugen die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter.

Y subió Judá, y Jehová entregó en sus manos al Cananeo y al Pherezeo; y de ellos hirieron en Bezec diez mil hombres.

Da sprach Adoni-Besek: Siebenzig Könige mit verhauenen Daumen ihrer Hände und Füße lasen auf unter meinem Tisch. Wie ich nun getan habe, so hat mir GOtt wieder vergolten: Und man brachte ihn gen Jerusalem; daselbst starb er.

Aber die Kinder Juda stritten wider Jerusalem und gewannen sie und schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und zündeten die Stadt an.

Entonces dijo Adoni-bezec: Setenta reyes, cortados los pulgares de sus manos y de sus pies, cogían las migajas debajo de mi mesa: como yo hice, así me ha pagado Dios. Y metiéronle en Jerusalem, donde murió.

And Adoni-bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Danach zogen die Kinder Juda herab, zu streiten wider die Kanaaniter, die auf dem Gebirge und gegen Mittag und in den Gründen wohneten.

Y habían combatido los hijos de Judá á Jerusalem, y la habían tomado, y metido á cuchillo, y puesto á fuego la ciudad.

Und zog von dannen wider die Einwohner zu Debir. Debir aber hieß vorzeiten Kiriath-Sepher.

Und Kaleb sprach: Wer Kiriath-Sepher schlägt und gewinnet, dem will ich meine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe geben.

Da gewann sie Athniel, der Sohn Kenas', des Kalebs jüngsten Bruders. Und er gab ihm seine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe.

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

Und es begab sich, da sie einzog, ward ihr geraten, daß sie fordern sollte einen Acker von ihrem Vater; und fiel vom Esel. Da sprach Kaleb zu ihr: Was ist dir?

And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?

Und die Kinder des Keniters, Moses Schwagers, zogen herauf aus der Palmenstadt mit den Kindern Juda in die Wüste Juda, die da liegt gegen Mittag der Stadt Arad; und gingen hin und wohneten unter dem Volk.

Und die Amoriter fingen an zu wohnen auf dem Gebirge Heres, zu Ajalon und zu Saalbim. Doch ward ihnen die Hand des Hauses Joseph zu schwer, und wurden zinsbar.
