Und es geschah nach dem Tode Joschuas, daß die Söhne Israels Jehovah fragten und sprachen: Wer soll für uns hinaufziehen wider den Kanaaniter, um zu beginnen, mit ihm zu streiten?

Y ACONTECIÓ después de la muerte de Josué, que los hijos de Israel consultaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros el primero á pelear contra los Cananeos?

Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Und Jehovah sprach: Judah soll hinaufziehen. Siehe, Ich habe das Land in seine Hand gegeben.

And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

Und Judah sprach zu Schimeon, seinem Bruder: Ziehe mit mir hinauf in mein Los und laß uns wider den Kanaaniter streiten, und ich werde auch mit dir gehen in dein Los. Und Schimeon ging mit ihm.

Y Judá dijo á Simeón su hermano: Sube conmigo á mi suerte, y peleemos contra el Cananeo, y yo también iré contigo á tu suerte. Y Simeón fué con él.

And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.

Und Judah zog hinauf, und Jehovah gab den Kanaaniter und den Pherisiter in ihre Hand, und sie schlugen ihrer in Besek zehntausend Mann.

Y subió Judá, y Jehová entregó en sus manos al Cananeo y al Pherezeo; y de ellos hirieron en Bezec diez mil hombres.

Und Adoni-Besek sprach: Siebzig Könige mit abgeschnittenen Daumen an Händen und Füßen lasen unter meinem Tische auf. Wie ich getan, so hat mir Gott vergolten. Und sie brachten ihn herein nach Jerusalem, und er starb allda.

Entonces dijo Adoni-bezec: Setenta reyes, cortados los pulgares de sus manos y de sus pies, cogían las migajas debajo de mi mesa: como yo hice, así me ha pagado Dios. Y metiéronle en Jerusalem, donde murió.

And Adoni-bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Und die Söhne Judahs stritten gegen Jerusalem und eroberten es und schlugen es mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und steckten die Stadt mit Feuer an.

Und von da ging er gegen die Einwohner von Debir. Und der Name Debir war vordem Kirjath Sepher.

Und Kaleb sprach: Wer Kirjath Sepher schlägt und es erobert, dem gebe ich Achsah, meine Tochter, zum Weibe.

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

Und Othniel eroberte sie, der Sohn des Kenas, des Bruders von Kaleb, der jünger war als er, und er gab ihm Achsah, seine Tochter, zum Weibe.

And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?

When she came, she got him to ask her father for a field. She got off her donkey; and Caleb said to her, “What would you like?”

Und sie sprach zu ihm: Gib mir einen Segen, denn du hast mir Mittagsland gegeben, so gib mir auch Wasserquellen. Und Kaleb gab ihr die oberen und die unteren Wasserquellen.

Und die Söhne des Keniters, des Schwagers Moses, zogen von der Palmenstadt mit den Söhnen Judahs herauf in die Wüste Judah, die gegen Mittag von Arad ist, und ging hin und wohnte beim Volk.

Y los hijos de Cineo, suegro de Moisés, subieron de la ciudad de las palmas con los hijos de Judá al desierto de Judá, que está al mediodía de Arad: y fueron y habitaron con el pueblo.

Und das Haus Josephs zog auch hinauf wider Beth-El, und Jehovah war mit ihnen.
