Die Männer von Israel hatten aber in Mizpa folgenden feierlichen Schwur abgelegt: »Keiner von uns darf seine Tochter einem Benjaminiten zur Frau geben!«
Y LOS varones de Israel habían jurado en Mizpa, diciendo: Ninguno de nosotros dará su hija á los de Benjamín por mujer.
Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.

Als nun das Volk nach Bethel gezogen war und dort bis zum Abend vor Gott (beim Heiligtum) verweilte, fingen sie an, laut zu weinen,
Y vino el pueblo á la casa de Dios, y estuviéronse allí hasta la tarde delante de Dios; y alzando su voz hicieron gran llanto, y dijeron:
And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;

und wehklagten: »Warum, o HERR, Gott Israels, ist dies in Israel geschehen, daß heute ein ganzer Stamm aus Israel fehlt!«
Oh Jehová Dios de Israel, ¿por qué ha sucedido esto en Israel, que falte hoy de Israel una tribu?
And said, O LORD God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?
They said, “The LORD, the God of Israel, why has this happened in Israel, that there should be one tribe lacking in Israel today?”
Am folgenden Tage aber in der Frühe baute das Volk dort einen Altar und brachte Brand- und Heilsopfer dar.

Dann fragten die Israeliten: »Wer von allen Stämmen Israels ist nicht mit der Gemeinde zum HERRN hergekommen?« Man hatte nämlich in betreff eines jeden, der nicht zum HERRN nach Mizpa hinkommen würde, einen feierlichen Eid ausgesprochen des Inhalts: »Er muß unbedingt sterben.«
Y dijeron los hijos de Israel: ¿Quién de todas las tribus de Israel no subió á la reunión cerca de Jehová? Porque se había hecho gran juramento contra el que no subiese á Jehová en Mizpa, diciendo: Sufrirá muerte.
And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.

Nun tat es aber den Israeliten um ihren Bruderstamm Benjamin leid, so daß sie klagten: »Heute ist ein ganzer Stamm von Israel abgehauen!
Y los hijos de Israel se arrepintieron á causa de Benjamín su hermano, y dijeron: Una tribu es hoy cortada de Israel.
And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.

Wie können wir nun den Übriggebliebenen zu Frauen verhelfen, da wir doch beim HERRN geschworen haben, daß wir ihnen keine von unsern Töchtern zu Frauen geben wollen?«
¿Qué haremos en cuanto á mujeres para los que han quedado? Nosotros hemos jurado por Jehová que no les hemos de dar nuestras hijas por mujeres.
How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?
How shall we provide wives for those who remain, since we have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?”
Da fragten sie: »Ist etwa einer von den Stämmen Israels nicht zum HERRN nach Mizpa hinaufgekommen?« Da ergab es sich, daß aus Jabes in Gilead niemand ins Lager zur Versammlung gekommen war.
Y dijeron: ¿Hay alguno de las tribus de Israel que no haya subido á Jehová en Mizpa? Y hallaron que ninguno de Jabes-galaad había venido al campo á la reunión:
And they said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to the LORD? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabesh-gilead to the assembly.
They said, “What one is there of the tribes of Israel who didn’t come up to the LORD to Mizpah?” Behold, no one came from Jabesh Gilead to the camp to the assembly.
Man hatte nämlich das Volk gemustert, und da stellte es sich heraus, daß von den Einwohnern von Jabes in Gilead keiner anwesend war.

Sie fanden aber unter den Bewohnern von Jabes in Gilead vierhundert jungfräuliche Mädchen, die noch mit keinem Mann zu tun gehabt hatten; die brachten sie ins Lager nach Silo, das im Lande Kanaan liegt.
Y hallaron de los moradores de Jabes-galaad cuatrocientas doncellas que no habían conocido hombre en ayuntamiento de varón, y trajéronlas al campo en Silo, que es en la tierra de Canaán.
And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins, that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them unto the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.

sagten die Ältesten der Gemeinde: »Wie können wir den Übriggebliebenen zu Frauen verhelfen, da ja die Frauen aus Benjamin ausgerottet sind?«

Da sagten sie: »Der Erbbesitz soll den Benjaminiten verbleiben, die mit dem Leben davongekommen sind, damit nicht ein Stamm aus Israel ausgetilgt wird.
Y dijeron: La heredad de los que han escapado ha de ser lo que era de Benjamín, porque no sea una tribu raída de Israel.
And they said, There must be an inheritance for them that be escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.

Wir aber können ihnen keine von unsern Töchtern zu Frauen geben, denn die Israeliten haben feierlich geschworen: ›Verflucht sei, wer seine Tochter einem Benjaminiten zur Frau gibt!‹«
Nosotros empero, no les podemos dar mujeres de nuestras hijas, porque los hijos de Israel han jurado, diciendo: Maldito el que diere mujer á Benjamín.

Da sagten sie: »Es findet bekanntlich alle Jahre ein Fest des HERRN in Silo statt (auf dem Platze) nördlich von Bethel, östlich von der Landstraße, die von Bethel nach Sichem hinaufführt, und südlich von Lebona.«
Ahora bien, dijeron, he aquí cada un año hay solemnidad de Jehová en Silo, que está al aquilón de Beth-el, y al lado oriental del camino que sube de Beth-el á Sichêm, y al mediodía de Lebona.
Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of Beth-el, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Beth-el to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.

Da gaben sie den Benjaminiten folgende Weisung: »Geht hin und versteckt euch in den Weinbergen!

And see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

Wenn dann ihre Väter oder Brüder kommen, um sich bei uns (über euch) zu beschweren, so wollen wir zu ihnen sagen: ›Vergönnt sie ihnen um unsertwillen! Denn wir haben durch den Krieg (gegen Jabes) nicht für jeden eine Frau gewonnen. Nicht ihr habt sie ihnen ja gegeben; denn in diesem Fall würdet ihr als schuldig dastehen.‹«
Y cuando vinieren los padres de ellas ó sus hermanos á demandárnoslo, nosotros les diremos: Tened piedad de nosotros en lugar de ellos: pues que nosotros en la guerra no tomamos mujeres para todos: que vosotros no se las habéis dado, para que ahora seáis culpables.
And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
It shall be, when their fathers or their brothers come to complain to us, that we will say to them, ‘Grant them graciously to us, because we didn’t take for each man his wife in battle, neither did you give them to them; otherwise you would now be guilty.’”
Die Benjaminiten befolgten die Weisung: sie holten sich die erforderliche Zahl von Frauen aus den tanzenden Mädchen, die sie raubten, kehrten dann in ihren Erbbesitz zurück, bauten die Ortschaften wieder auf und ließen sich darin nieder.
Y los hijos de Benjamín lo hicieron así; pues tomaron mujeres conforme á su número, pillando de las que danzaban; y yéndose luego, tornáronse á su heredad, y reedificaron las ciudades, y habitaron en ellas.
