Voici les peuples que laissa le Seigneur pour éprouver par eux en Israël, tous ceux qui n'avaient point vu les guerres de Chanaan,

ESTAS, pues, son las gentes que dejó Jehová para probar con ellas á Israel, á todos aquellos que no habían conocido todas las guerras de Canaán;

Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

Uniquement pour l'amour des générations des fils d'Israël, dans le but de leur apprendre la guerre (mais les générations précédentes n'avaient point connu ces choses) :

Para que al menos el linaje de los hijos de Israel conociese, para enseñarlos en la guerra, siquiera fuese á los que antes no la habían conocido:

Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

Et cela arriva pour que le Seigneur éprouvât par eux Israël, et pour qu'il connut si le peuple était docile aux commandements que Dieu avait intimés à ses pères par la voix de Moïse.

Estos pues fueron para probar por ellos á Israel, para saber si obedecerían á los mandamientos de Jehová, que él había prescrito á sus padres por mano de Moisés.

And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

Les fils d'Israël habitaient donc au milieu du Chananéen, de l'Héttéen, de l'Amorrhéen, du Phérézéen, de l'Evéen et du Jébuséen.

Así los hijos de Israel habitaban entre los Cananeos, Hetheos, Amorrheos, Pherezeos, Heveos, y Jebuseos:

And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

Et ils prirent leurs filles pour femmes, et ils donnèrent à leurs fils des filles d'Israël, et ils servirent leurs dieux.

Y tomaron de sus hijas por mujeres, y dieron sus hijas á los hijos de ellos, y sirvieron á sus dioses.

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

Y la saña de Jehová se encendió contra Israel, y vendiólos en manos de Chusan-risathaim, rey de Mesopotamia; y sirvieron los hijos de Israel á Chusan-risathaim ocho años.

Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan-rishathaim eight years.

Y el espíritu de Jehová fué sobre él, y juzgó á Israel, y salió á batalla, y Jehová entregó en su mano á Chusan-risathaim, rey de Siria, y prevaleció su mano contra Chusan-risathaim.

And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.

Aussitôt, les fils d'Israël recommencèrent à faire le mal devant le Seigneur, et le Seigneur fortifia Eglom, roi de Moab, contre les fils d'Israël, parce qu'ils avaient fait le mal devant le Seigneur.

Y tornaron los hijos de Israel á hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová esforzó á Eglón rey de Moab contra Israel, por cuanto habían hecho lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the LORD’s sight.

S'étant adjoint tous les fils d'Ammon et d'Amalec, il se mit en marche, il vainquit Israël, et il s'empara de la Ville des Palmiers.

Y juntó consigo á los hijos de Ammón y de Amalec, y fué, é hirió á Israel, y tomó la ciudad de las palmas.

But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

But when the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

Aod se fit un poignard à double tranchant de la longueur de sa main, et il se l'attacha sous son manteau, contre la cuisse droite.

Y Aod se había hecho un puñal de dos filos, de un codo de largo; y ciñósele debajo de sus vestidos á su lado derecho.

But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he wore it under his clothing on his right thigh.

Et il partit portant des présents à Eglom, roi de Moab ; Eglom était un homme obèse.

Y presentó el presente á Eglón rey de Moab; y era Eglón hombre muy grueso.

And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.

He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.

Et lorsque Aod eut achevé de lui remettre les présents, il sortit et congédia ceux qui les avaient apportés.

Y luego que hubo presentado el don, despidió á la gente que lo había traído.

And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

When Ehud had finished offering the tribute, he sent away the people who carried the tribute.

Lui-même étant revenu des carrières de Galgal, dit à Eglom : roi, un mot en secret. Et Eglom lui dit : Garde le silence. Et il éloigna tous ceux qui se tenaient auprès de lui.

Mas él se volvió desde los ídolos que están en Gilgal, y dijo: Rey, una palabra secreta tengo que decirte. El entonces dijo: Calla. Y saliéronse de con él todos los que delante de él estaban.

But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

But he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” The king said, “Keep silence!” All who stood by him left him.

Aod s'approcha de lui ; or, il était assis tout à fait seul dans son appartement d'été. Et Aod lui dit : roi, un mot de mon Dieu pour toi seul. Et Eglom se leva de son trône pour être plus près d'Aod.

Y llegóse Aod á él, el cual estaba sentado solo en una sala de verano. Y Aod dijo: Tengo palabra de Dios para ti. El entonces se levantó de la silla.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, “I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

Et pendant qu'il se levait, Aod étendit la main gauche, prit le poignard sur sa cuisse droite, et l'enfonça dans les entrailles d'Eglom.

Mas Aod metió su mano izquierda, y tomó el puñal de su lado derecho, y metióselo por el vientre;

And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

Ehud put out his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body.

Il fit entrer aussi la poignée après la lame, et la graisse se referma tout le long de l'arme, parce qu'il n'avait point retiré le poignard de la blessure.

De tal manera que la empuñadura entró también tras la hoja, y la grosura encerró la hoja, que él no sacó el puñal de su vientre: y salió el estiércol.

And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

The handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed on the blade, for he didn’t draw the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.

Aod sortit par le vestibule ; il évita les gardes, après avoir tiré sur lui les portes de l'appartement, et les avoir verrouillées.

Y saliendo Aod al patio, cerró tras sí las puertas de la sala.

Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.

A sortit donc, et les serviteurs du roi survinrent ; ils virent : or, voilà que les portes de l'appartement Etaient verrouillées ; alors ils dirent : Ne va-t-il pas délivrer ses pieds dans l'appartement d'été ?

Y salido él, vinieron sus siervos, los cuales viendo las puertas de la sala cerradas, dijeron: Sin duda él cubre sus pies en la sala de verano.

When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

After he had gone, his servants came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked. They said, “Surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.”

Et ils attendirent jusqu'à ce que la rougeur leur vint au visage ; enfin, comme personne n'ouvrait la porte de l'appartement d'été, ils prirent la clef ; ils ouvrirent, et virent leur maître étendu mort.

Y habiendo esperado hasta estar confusos, pues que él no abría las puertas de la sala, tomaron la llave y abrieron: y he aquí su señor caído en tierra muerto.

And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

They waited until they were ashamed; and behold, he didn’t open the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their lord had fallen down dead on the floor.

Cependant, Aod s'était sauvé tandis qu'ils étaient pleins de trouble, et nul ne s'occupa de lui ; il passa près des carrières, et il arriva sain et sauf à Sétirotha.

Mas entre tanto que ellos se detuvieron, Aod se escapó, y pasando los ídolos, salvóse en Seirath.

And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

Ehud escaped while they waited, passed beyond the stone idols, and escaped to Seirah.

Aussitôt qu'Aod eut atteint la terre d'Israël, il fit sonner du cor dans les montagnes d'Ephraïm ; les fils d'Israël descendirent avec lui de leurs montagnes, et il se mit à leur tête.

Y como hubo entrado, tocó el cuerno en el monte de Ephraim, y los hijos de Israel descendieron con él del monte, y él iba delante de ellos.

And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

Puis, il leur dit : Suivez-moi, car le Seigneur Dieu nous a livrés nos ennemis de Moab. Ils le suivirent, et s'emparèrent des gués du Jourdain qui étaient devant Moab, et ils ne permirent à aucun Moabite de passer.

Entonces él les dijo: Seguidme, porque Jehová ha entregado vuestros enemigos los Moabitas en vuestras manos. Y descendieron en pos de él, y tomaron los vados del Jordán á Moab, y no dejaron pasar á ninguno.

And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

He said to them, “Follow me; for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and didn’t allow any man to pass over.

Ce jour-là, ils vainquirent Moab ; ils tuèrent dix mille hommes, tous gras et pleins de force ; pas un seul combattant n'échappa.

Y en aquel tiempo hirieron de los Moabitas como diez mil hombres, todos valientes y todos hombres de guerra; no escapó hombre.

And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.

They struck at that time about ten thousand men of Moab, every strong man and every man of valor. No man escaped.

Ce jour-là Moab fat humilié par les mains d'Israël, et la terre resta en repos quatre-vingts ans, et Aod les jugea jusqu'à ce qu'il mourut.

Así quedó Moab sojuzgado aquel día bajo la mano de Israel: y reposó la tierra ochenta años.

So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.
