But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

y Aod tirando con su mano izquierda de la daga que llevaba al lado derecho se la envasó en el vientre,
Y llegóse Aod á él, el cual estaba sentado solo en una sala de verano. Y Aod dijo: Tengo palabra de Dios para ti. El entonces se levantó de la silla.
And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.
Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, “I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.
con tanta fuerza que la guarnición o empuñadura entró tras la hoja en la herida, y se quedó cubierta y encajada en la mucha grosura: ni sacó del vientre la daga sino que como se la metió, así la dejó en él; y al instante los excrementos salieron por sus conductos naturales.
Mas Aod metió su mano izquierda, y tomó el puñal de su lado derecho, y metióselo por el vientre;
And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

Después de lo cual Aod, habiendo cerrado muy bien las puertas del cuarto, y asegurándolas con llave,
De tal manera que la empuñadura entró también tras la hoja, y la grosura encerró la hoja, que él no sacó el puñal de su vientre: y salió el estiércol.
And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

se salió por una puerta excusada. Y entrando los criados del rey, y viendo cerradas las puertas del aposento, dijeron: Tal vez está satisfaciendo alguna necesidad corporal en la habitación de verano.

Y después de haber aguardado mucho tiempo, hasta que preocupados de tanto esperar, y viendo que ninguno les abría, echaron mano de la llave, abrieron el cuarto y hallaron el cadáver de su señor tendido en el suelo.
Y salido él, vinieron sus siervos, los cuales viendo las puertas de la sala cerradas, dijeron: Sin duda él cubre sus pies en la sala de verano.
When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.
After he had gone, his servants came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked. They said, “Surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.”
Pero mientras ellos andaban alborotados, Aod se escapó, y pasando por el lugar de los ídolos, desde donde había vuelto atrás, llegó a Seirat.
Y habiendo esperado hasta estar confusos, pues que él no abría las puertas de la sala, tomaron la llave y abrieron: y he aquí su señor caído en tierra muerto.
And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

Tocó luego la trompeta o alarma, en el monte de Efraín; y los hijos de Israel descendieron con él, llevándole a su frente.
Mas entre tanto que ellos se detuvieron, Aod se escapó, y pasando los ídolos, salvóse en Seirath.
And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

Aod les dijo: Seguidme: porque el Señor ha entregado en nuestras manos a los moabitas nuestros enemigos. Le siguieron, pues, y se apoderaron de los vados del Jordán, que son paso para Moab: y no dejaron pasar a ningún moabita,
Y como hubo entrado, tocó el cuerno en el monte de Ephraim, y los hijos de Israel descendieron con él del monte, y él iba delante de ellos.
And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

sino que mataron en aquella sazón cerca de diez mil de ellos, todos hombres robustos y esforzados, de suerte que ninguno de ellos pudo escapar.

And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.
He said to them, “Follow me; for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and didn’t allow any man to pass over.
Quedó, pues, Moab humillado en aquel día, bajo la mano de Israel, y el país estuvo en paz ochenta años.
Y en aquel tiempo hirieron de los Moabitas como diez mil hombres, todos valientes y todos hombres de guerra; no escapó hombre.
