y los entregó el Señor en manos de Jabín, rey de Canaán, que reinó en Asor, y tuvo por general de su ejército a un llamado Sísara, el cual habitaba en Haroset de las Naciones.

MAS los hijos de Israel tornaron á hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, después de la muerte de Aod.

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.

Clamaron, pues, los hijos de Israel al Señor; porque teniendo Jabín novecientos carros falcados, los había oprimido en extremo por espacio de veinte años.

Y Jehová los vendió en mano de Jabín rey de Canaán, el cual reinó en Asor: y el capitán de su ejército se llamaba Sísara, y él habitaba en Haroseth de las Gentes.

And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

Vivía en aquel tiempo Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot, la cual regía al pueblo;

Y los hijos de Israel clamaron á Jehová, porque aquél tenía nuevecientos carros herrados: y había afligido en gran manera á los hijos de Israel por veinte años.

y tenía su asiento debajo de una palma, que se llamó por eso de su mismo nombre, entre Rama y Betel, en el monte de Efraín: y los hijos de Israel acudían a Débora en todos sus litigios.

Y gobernaba en aquel tiempo á Israel una mujer, Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidoth:

Ella, pues, envió a llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoem, natural de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: El Señor Dios de Israel te da esta orden: Anda y conduce el ejército al monte Tabor, llevando contigo diez mil combatientes de la tribu de Neftalí y de la de Zabulón:

La cual Débora habitaba debajo de una palma entre Rama y Beth-el, en el monte de Ephraim: y los hijos de Israel subían á ella á juicio.

And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

She lived under Deborah’s palm tree between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

que yo llevaré a un sitio del torrente Cisón a Sísara, general del ejército de Jabín, con todos sus carros y su gente, y los entregaré en tus manos.

Y ella envió á llamar á Barac hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Nephtalí, y díjole: ¿No te ha mandado Jehová Dios de Israel, diciendo: Ve, y haz gente en el monte de Tabor, y toma contigo diez mil hombres de los hijos de Nephtalí, y de los hijos de Zabulón:

And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

She sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh Naphtali, and said to him, “Hasn’t the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded, ‘Go and lead the way to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

Y le dijo Barac: Si vienes conmigo, iré; mas si no quieres venir conmigo, tampoco iré yo.

Y yo atraeré á ti al arroyo de Cisón á Sísara, capitán del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y su ejército, y entregarélo en tus manos?

And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

I will draw to you, to the river Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into your hand.’”

A lo que respondió Débora: Bien está, iré contigo; mas por esta vez no se atribuirá a ti la victoria: pues Sísara será entregado por medio de una mujer. Partió, pues, luego Débora, y se fue a Cedes con Barac.

Y Barac le respondió: Si tú fueres conmigo, yo iré: pero si no fueres conmigo, no iré.

And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”

El cual, convocados los de Zabulón y Neftalí, marchó con diez mil combatientes, teniendo a Débora en su compañía.

Y ella dijo: Iré contigo; mas no será tu honra en el camino que vas; porque en mano de mujer venderá Jehová á Sísara. Y levantándose Débora fué con Barac á Cedes.

And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

She said, “I will surely go with you. Nevertheless, the journey that you take won’t be for your honor; for the LORD will sell Sisera into a woman’s hand.” Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Es de advertir que Haber, cineo, se había separado mucho tiempo antes de los otros cineos sus hermanos, hijos de Hobab, parientes de Moisés, y había establecido su morada extendiéndose hasta el valle llamado Sennim, no lejos de Cedes.

Y juntó Barac á Zabulón y á Nephtalí en Cedes, y subió con diez mil hombres á su mando, y Débora subió con él.

And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

En esto tuvo Sísara aviso de que Barac, hijo de Abinoem, había subido al monte Tabor;

Y Heber Cineo, de los hijos de Hobab suegro de Moisés, se había apartado de los Cineos, y puesto su tienda hasta el valle de Zaananim, que está junto á Cedes.

Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the children of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.

Por lo que juntó los novecientos carros falcados, e hizo mover todo su ejército desde Haroset de las Naciones hasta el torrente Cisón.

Vinieron pues las nuevas á Sísara como Barac hijo de Abinoam había subido al monte de Tabor.

And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

They told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.

Entonces dijo Débora a Barac: ¡Ea, vamos! porque este es el día en que el Señor ha puesto en tus manos a Sísara: mira que el mismo Señor es tu caudillo. Bajó al punto Barac del monte Tabor y con él los diez mil soldados.

Y reunió Sísara todos sus carros, nuevecientos carros herrados, con todo el pueblo que con él estaba, desde Haroseth de las Gentes hasta el arroyo de Cisón.

And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

Y el Señor aterró a Sísara, y a todos sus carros de guerra, y su gente, la cual fue pasada a cuchillo al presentarse Barac: en tanto grado, que Sísara, saltando de su carro, echó a huir a pie.

Entonces Débora dijo á Barac: Levántate; porque este es el día en que Jehová ha entregado á Sísara en tus manos. ¿No ha salido Jehová delante de ti? Y Barac descendió del monte de Tabor, y diez mil hombres en pos de él.

And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

Deborah said to Barak, “Go; for this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand. Hasn’t the LORD gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

Y Barac fue persiguiendo a los carros fugitivos, y al ejército hasta la ciudad de Haroset de las Naciones; y toda la muchedumbre de los enemigos pereció, sin quedar ni uno.

Y Jehová desbarató á Sísara, y á todos sus carros y á todo su ejército, á filo de espada delante de Barac: y Sísara descendió del carro, y huyó á pie.

And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

The LORD confused Sisera, all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak. Sisera abandoned his chariot and fled away on his feet.

Entretanto Sísara, huyendo vino a parar en la tienda de Jahel, mujer de Haber, cineo: por cuanto había paz entre Jabín, rey de Asor y la casa de Haber, cineo.

Mas Barac siguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroseth de las Gentes, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó á filo de espada, hasta no quedar ni uno.

But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

But Barak pursued the chariots and the army to Harosheth of the Gentiles; and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword. There was not a man left.

Y habiendo salido Jahel a recibir a Sísara, le dijo: Entrad, señor mío, en mi casa y no temáis. Entró pues, en la tienda, y después que ella lo cubrió con un manto,

Y Sísara se acogió á pie á la tienda de Jael mujer de Heber Cineo; porque había paz entre Jabín rey de Asor y la casa de Heber Cineo.

Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

le dijo Sísara: Dame por tu vida un poco de agua, que me muero de sed. Abrió ella un odre de leche, y le dio de beber, y volvió a cubrirlo con la ropa.

Y saliendo Jael á recibir á Sísara, díjole: Ven, señor mío, ven á mí, no tengas temor. Y él vino á ella á la tienda, y ella le cubrió con una manta.

And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; don’t be afraid.” He came in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

Y le dijo Sísara: Ponte a la puerta del pabellón, y si viene alguno preguntándote, y diciendo: ¿Hay aquí alguno?, responde que no hay nadie.

Y él le dijo: Ruégote me des á beber una poca de agua, que tengo sed. Y ella abrió un odre de leche y dióle de beber, y tornóle á cubrir.

And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

He said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty.” She opened a container of milk, and gave him a drink, and covered him.

Jahel, pues, mujer de Haber, tomó un clavo o estaca de la tienda, y asimismo un martillo; y entrando sin ser vista ni sentida, aplicó el clavo sobre una de las sienes de Sísara, y dando un golpe con el martillo le traspasó el cerebro hasta la tierra: y Sísara desfalleció y murió, juntando el sueño con la muerte.

Y él le dijo: Estáte á la puerta de la tienda, y si alguien viniere, y te preguntare, diciendo: ¿Hay aquí alguno? tú responderás que no.

Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

He said to her, “Stand in the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.’”

Cuando he aquí que Barac venía en seguimiento de Sísara, y Jahel, saliéndole al encuentro le dijo: Ven, y te mostraré al hombre que buscas. Entrado que hubo en su estancia, vio a Sísara que yacía muerto, y el clavo atravesado por sus sienes.

Y Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda, y poniendo un mazo en su mano, vino á él calladamente, y metióle la estaca por las sienes, y enclavólo en la tierra, pues él estaba cargado de sueño y cansado; y así murió.

Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground, for he was in a deep sleep; so he fainted and died.

Así humilló Dios en aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, ante los hijos de Israel.

Y siguiendo Barac á Sísara, Jael salió á recibirlo, y díjole: Ven, y te mostraré al varón que tú buscas. Y él entró donde ella estaba, y he aquí Sísara yacía muerto con la estaca por la sien.

And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

Los cuales cobraron cada día más bríos contra Jabín y Canaán, a quien oprimieron con mano poderosa, hasta que le destruyeron enteramente.

Así abatió Dios aquel día á Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los hijos de Israel.

So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

En aquel día Débora y Barac, hijo de Abinoem, cantaron este himno diciendo:

Y la mano de los hijos de Israel comenzó á crecer y á fortificarse contra Jabín rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.

And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
