1Aquel día Débora y Barak, hijo de Abinoam, entonaron esta canción:
2Los líderes de Israel se hicieron cargo, y el pueblo se comprometió totalmente. ¡Alabado sea el Señor!
3¡Escuchen, reyes! ¡Prestad atención, gobernantes! Yo, sí yo, cantaré al Señor; alabaré al Señor, el Dios de Israel, con un canto.
4Señor, cuando saliste de Seir, cuando marchaste del país de Edom, la tierra tembló, la lluvia cayó del cielo, las nubes derramaron agua.
5Las montañas se derritieron en presencia del Señor, el Dios del Sinaí, en presencia del Señor, el Dios de Israel.
6En los días de Shamgar, hijo de Anat, en los días de Jael, la gente no usaba las carreteras principales y se quedaba en caminos sinuosos.
7La vida de las aldeas en Israel estaba abandonada hasta que yo, Débora, entré en escena como madre en Israel.
8Cuando el pueblo eligió nuevos dioses, entonces la guerra llegó a sus puertas. Ni siquiera un escudo o una lanza podían encontrarse entre los cuarenta mil guerreros de Israel.
9Mis pensamientos están con los comandantes israelitas y con la gente que se ofreció como voluntaria. ¡Alabado sea el Señor!
10Ustedes, que van montados en asnos blancos, sentados en cómodas mantas, viajando por el camino, observen
11De lo que habla la gente cuando se reúne en los abrevaderos. Describen los actos justos del Señor y los de sus guerreros en Israel. Entonces el pueblo del Señor se dirigió a las puertas de la ciudad.
12“¡Despierta, Débora, despierta! ¡Despierta, despierta, canta una canción! ¡Levántate, Barac! Captura a tus prisioneros, hijo de Abinoam”.
13Los sobrevivientes fueron a atacar a los nobles, el pueblo del Señor fue a atacar a los poderosos.
14Algunos vinieron de Efraín, tierra que solía pertenecer a los amalecitas; la tribu de Benjamín te siguió con sus hombres. Los comandantes vinieron de Maquir; de Zabulón vinieron los que llevan el bastón de mando de un militar.
15Los jefes de Isacar apoyaron a Débora y a Barac; corrieron hacia el valle siguiendo a Barac. Pero la tribu de Rubén estaba muy indecisa.
16¿Por qué se quedaron en casa, en los rediles, escuchando a los pastores que silbaban por sus rebaños? La tribu de Rubén realmente no podía decidir qué hacer.
17Galaad se quedó al otro lado del Jordán. Dan se quedó con sus barcos. Aser se quedó en la costa, sin moverse de sus puertos.
18El pueblo de Zabulón arriesgó su vida, al igual que Neftalí en los campos de batalla de altura.
19Los reyes vinieron y lucharon, los reyes cananeos lucharon en Tanac, cerca de las aguas de Meguido, pero no obtuvieron ningún botín de plata.
20Las estrellas lucharon desde el cielo. Las estrellas en sus cursos lucharon contra Sísara.
21El río Cisón los arrastró: ¡el viejo río se convirtió en un torrente impetuoso! ¡Pero yo marché con valentía!
22Entonces los cascos de los caballos se agitaron ruidosamente, sus sementales salieron en estampida.
23“Maldice a Meroz,” dice el ángel del Señor. “Maldice totalmente a los que viven allí, porque se negaron a venir a ayudar al Señor, a ayudar al Señor contra los poderosos enemigos”.
24Jael, la esposa de Heber el ceneo, es la más alabada entre las mujeres. Ella merece ser alabada por encima de todas las demás mujeres que viven en tiendas.
25Él pidió agua y ella le dio leche. En un recipiente digno de los nobles le llevó suero de leche.
26Con una mano tomó la estaca de la tienda y con la derecha sostuvo un martillo de obrero. Golpeó a Sísara y le rompió el cráneo; le destrozó y perforó la sien.
27A sus pies se desplomó, cayó, quedó inmóvil. A sus pies se desplomó, cayó; donde se desplomó, allí cayó, su vida le fue arrebatada.
28La madre de Sísara se asomó a la ventana. A través de la ventana enrejada gritó: “¿Por qué tarda tanto en llegar su carro? ¿Por qué se retrasa tanto el sonido de su carro?”
29La más sabia de sus damas le dice, y ella se repite a sí misma las mismas palabras:
30“Están ocupados repartiendo el botín y asignando una o dos jóvenes para cada hombre. Dentro del botín seguro habrá ropas de colores para Sísara; en el botín habrá ropas de colores bellamente bordadas; un botín de ropas de doble bordado que llegan hasta el cuello”.
31¡Que todos tus enemigos mueran así, Señor! ¡Pero que los que te aman brillen como el sol en todo su esplendor! La tierra estuvo en paz por cuarenta años.

1Y AQUEL día cantó Débora, con Barac, hijo de Abinoam, diciendo:
2Porque ha vengado las injurias de Israel, porque el pueblo se ha ofrecido de su voluntad, load á Jehová.
3Oid, reyes; estad, oh príncipes, atentos: yo cantaré á Jehová, cantaré salmos á Jehová Dios de Israel.
4Cuando saliste de Seir, oh Jehová, cuando te apartaste del campo de Edom, la tierra tembló, y los cielos destilaron, y las nubes gotearon aguas.
5Los montes se derritieron delante de Jehová, aqueste Sinaí, delante de Jehová Dios de Israel.
6En los días de Samgar hijo de Anath, en los días de Jael, cesaron los caminos, y los que andaban por las sendas apartábanse por torcidos senderos.
7Las aldeas habían cesado en Israel, habían decaído; hasta que yo Débora me levanté, me levanté madre en Israel.
8En escogiendo nuevos dioses, la guerra estaba á las puertas: ¿se veía escudo ó lanza entre cuarenta mil en Israel?
9Mi corazón está por los príncipes de Israel, los que con buena voluntad se ofrecieron entre el pueblo: load á Jehová.
10Vosotros los que cabalgáis en asnas blancas, los que presidís en juicio, y vosotros los que viajáis, hablad.
11Lejos del ruido de los archeros, en los abrevaderos, allí repetirán las justicias de Jehová, las justicias de sus villas en Israel; entonces bajará el pueblo de Jehová á las puertas.
12Despierta, despierta, Débora; despierta, despierta, profiere un cántico. Levántate, Barac, y lleva tus cautivos, hijo de Abinoam.
13Entonces ha hecho que el que quedó del pueblo, señoree á los magníficos: Jehová me hizo enseñorear sobre los fuertes.
14De Ephraim salió su raíz contra Amalec tras ti, Benjamín, contra tus pueblos; de Machîr descendieron príncipes, y de Zabulón los que solían manejar punzón de escribiente.
15Príncipes también de Issachâr fueron con Débora; y como Issachâr, también Barac se puso á pie en el valle. De las divisiones de Rubén hubo grandes impresiones del corazón.
16¿Por qué te quedaste entre las majadas, para oir los balidos de los rebaños? De las divisiones de Rubén grandes fueron las disquisiciones del corazón.
17Galaad se quedó de la otra parte del Jordán: y Dan ¿por qué se estuvo junto á los navíos? Mantúvose Aser á la ribera de la mar, y quedóse en sus puertos.
18El pueblo de Zabulón expuso su vida á la muerte, y Nephtalí en las alturas del campo.
19Vinieron reyes y pelearon: entonces pelearon los reyes de Canaán en Taanac, junto á las aguas de Megiddo, mas no llevaron ganancia alguna de dinero.
20De los cielos pelearon: las estrellas desde sus órbitas pelearon contra Sísara.
21Barriólos el torrente de Cisón, el antiguo torrente, el torrente de Cisón. Hollaste, oh alma mía, con fortaleza.
22Despalmáronse entonces las uñas de los caballos por las arremetidas, por los brincos de sus valientes.
23Maldecid á Meroz, dijo el ángel de Jehová: maldecid severamente á sus moradores, porque no vinieron en socorro á Jehová, en socorro á Jehová contra los fuertes.
24Bendita sea entre las mujeres Jael, mujer de Heber Cineo; sobre las mujeres bendita sea en la tienda.
25El pidió agua, y dióle ella leche; en tazón de nobles le presentó manteca.
26Su mano tendió á la estaca, y su diestra al mazo de trabajadores; y majó á Sísara, hirió su cabeza, llagó y atravesó sus sienes.
27Cayó encorvado entre sus pies, quedó tendido: entre sus pies cayó encorvado; donde se encorvó, allí cayó muerto.
28La madre de Sísara se asoma á la ventana, y por entre las celosías á voces dice: ¿Por qué se detiene su carro, que no viene? ¿por qué las ruedas de sus carros se tardan?
29Las más avisadas de sus damas le respondían; y aun ella se respondía á sí misma.
30¿No han hallado despojos, y los están repartiendo? á cada uno una moza, ó dos: los despojos de colores para Sísara, los despojos bordados de colores: la ropa de color bordada de ambos lados, para los cuellos de los que han tomado los despojos.
31Así perezcan todos tus enemigos, oh Jehová: mas los que le aman, sean como el sol cuando nace en su fuerza. Y la tierra reposó cuarenta años.
King James Version
1Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
2Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
3Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
4LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
5The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
6In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
7The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
8They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.
10Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
11They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.
12Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
13Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
14Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
15And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
16Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
17Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
18Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.
19The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
20They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
21The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
22Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.
23Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
24Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
25He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
26She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
27At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
28The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
29Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
30Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
31So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

1Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,
2“Because the leaders took the lead in Israel, because the people offered themselves willingly, be blessed, LORD!
3“Hear, you kings! Give ear, you princes! I, even I, will sing to the LORD. I will sing praise to the LORD, the God of Israel.
4“LORD, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, the sky also dropped. Yes, the clouds dropped water.
5The mountains quaked at the LORD’s presence, even Sinai at the presence of the LORD, the God of Israel.
6“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. The travelers walked through byways.
7The rulers ceased in Israel. They ceased until I, Deborah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Israel.
8They chose new gods. Then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9My heart is toward the governors of Israel, who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless the LORD!

13“Then a remnant of the nobles and the people came down. The LORD came down for me against the mighty.
14Those whose root is in Amalek came out of Ephraim, after you, Benjamin, among your peoples. Governors come down out of Machir. Those who handle the marshal’s staff came out of Zebulun.
15The princes of Issachar were with Deborah. As was Issachar, so was Barak. They rushed into the valley at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben, there were great resolves of heart.
16Why did you sit among the sheepfolds? To hear the whistling for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben, there were great searchings of heart.
17Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his creeks.
18Zebulun was a people that jeopardized their lives to the death; Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
19“The kings came and fought, then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo. They took no plunder of silver.
20From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.
21The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.
22Then the horse hoofs stamped because of the prancing, the prancing of their strong ones.
23‘Curse Meroz,’ said the LORD’s angel. ‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they didn’t come to help the LORD, to help the LORD against the mighty.’
24“Jael shall be blessed above women, the wife of Heber the Kenite; blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
25He asked for water. She gave him milk. She brought him butter in a lordly dish.
26She put her hand to the tent peg, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer. With the hammer she struck Sisera. She struck through his head. Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples.
27At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay. At her feet he bowed, he fell. Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
28“Through the window she looked out, and cried: Sisera’s mother looked through the lattice. ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why do the wheels of his chariots wait?’
29Her wise ladies answered her, Yes, she returned answer to herself,
30‘Have they not found, have they not divided the plunder? A lady, two ladies to every man; to Sisera a plunder of dyed garments, a plunder of dyed garments embroidered, of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the plunder?’
31“So let all your enemies perish, LORD, but let those who love him be as the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had rest forty years.
