Les fils d'Israël firent encore le mal devant le Seigneur, et le Seigneur les livra aux mains de Madian, pendant sept années.

MAS los hijos de Israel hicieron lo malo en los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová los entregó en las manos de Madián por siete años.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, so the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

Et la main de Madian prévalut sur Israël ; et les fils d'Israël, à l'aspect de Madian, se firent des cachettes dans les montagnes ; ils se firent des grottes et des murs de défense dans les rochers.

Y la mano de Madián prevaleció contra Israel. Y los hijos de Israel, por causa de los Madianitas, se hicieron cuevas en los montes, y cavernas, y lugares fuertes.

And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

Quand les fils d'Israël avaient semé, Madian montait avec Amalec ; les fils de l'Orient marchaient dans leurs rangs, et ils campaient chez eux,

And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

Parce qu'ils montaient avec tous leurs biens et avec leurs tentes, nombreux comme des sauterelles lorsqu'elles foisonnent ; leur multitude et celle de leurs chameaux étaient innombrables ; ils dominaient sur la terre d'Israël, et ils la dévastaient.

Porque subían ellos y sus ganados, y venían con sus tiendas en grande multitud como langosta, que no había número en ellos ni en sus camellos: así venían á la tierra para devastarla.

For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.

Israël était tout appauvri devant la face de Madian. Et les fils d'Israël crièrent au Seigneur,

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

Y cuando los hijos de Israel hubieron clamado á Jehová, á causa de los Madianitas,

And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,

Et le Seigneur envoya un prophète aux fils d'Israël, et l'homme leur dit : Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël : Je suis Celui qui vous ai tirés de la terre d'Egypte, qui vous ai fait sortir de votre maison de servitude.

Jehová envió un varón profeta á los hijos de Israel, el cual les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo os hice salir de Egipto, y os saqué de la casa de servidumbre:

That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

The LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel; and he said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you out of the house of bondage.

Je vous ai arrachés des mains de l'Egyptien et de tous ceux qui vous opprimaient ; j'ai banni ceux-ci de devant votre face, et je vous ai donné leur territoire.

Yo os libré de mano de los Egipcios, y de mano de todos los que os afligieron, á los cuales eché de delante de vosotros, y os dí su tierra;

And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;

Et je vous ai dit : Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu ; n'ayez point crainte des dieux des Amorrhéens, parmi lesquels vous résiderez en leur terre. Mais vous n'avez pas été dociles à ma voix.

Y díjeos: Yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios; no temáis á los dioses de los Amorrheos, en cuya tierra habitáis: mas no habéis obedecido á mi voz.

And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

I said to you, “I am the LORD your God. You shall not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not listened to my voice.’”

Ensuite, un ange du Seigneur vint, et il s'arrêta sous le térébinthe d'Ephratha, en la terre de Joas, fils d'Esdri, comme son fils Gédéon battait du blé dans le pressoir pour échapper aux regards des Madianites.

Y vino el ángel de Jehová, y sentóse debajo del alcornoque que está en Ophra, el cual era de Joas Abiezerita; y su hijo Gedeón estaba sacudiendo el trigo en el lagar, para hacerlo esconder de los Madianitas.

And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

The LORD’s angel came and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. His son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites.

L'ange du Seigneur lui apparut, et il lui dit : Le Seigneur est avec toi, fort parmi les plus vaillants.

Y el ángel de Jehová se le apareció, y díjole: Jehová es contigo, varón esforzado.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

The LORD’s angel appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Et Gédéon dit : Je vous prie, mon Seigneur ; si le Seigneur est avec nous, pourquoi ces maux nous sont-ils venus ? Et où sont tous ces miracles que nous ont racontés nos pères, disant : N'est-ce point le Seigneur qui nous a fait sortir de l'Egypte ? Maintenant, il nous a renversés, il nous a livrés aux mains de Madian.

Y Gedeón le respondió: Ah, Señor mío, si Jehová es con nosotros, ¿por qué nos ha sobrevenido todo esto? ¿Y dónde están todas sus maravillas, que nuestros padres nos han contado, diciendo: ¿No nos sacó Jehová de Egipto? Y ahora Jehová nos ha desamparado, y nos ha entregado en mano de los Madianitas.

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

Gideon said to him, “Oh, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, ‘Didn’t the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.”

L'ange du Seigneur le regarda, et lui dit : Marche en ta force, et tu délivreras Israël des mains de Madian. Voilà que pour cela je t'envoie.

Y mirándole Jehová, díjole: Ve con esta tu fortaleza, y salvarás á Israel de la mano de los Madianitas. ¿No te envío yo?

And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

The LORD looked at him, and said, “Go in this your might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Haven’t I sent you?”

Et Gédéon lui dit : Je vous prie, mon Seigneur, et comment sauverai-je Israël ? Voilà que mes mille hommes sont sans force dans Manassé, et je suis le moindre de la maison de mon père.

Entonces le respondió: Ah, Señor mío, ¿con qué tengo de salvar á Israel? He aquí que mi familia es pobre en Manasés, y yo el menor en la casa de mi padre.

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.

He said to him, “O Lord, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

L'ange reprit : Le Seigneur sera avec toi, et tu vaincras Madian comme un seul homme.

Y Jehová le dijo: Porque yo seré contigo, y herirás á los Madianitas como á un solo hombre.

And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

The LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.”

Et Gédéon lui dit : Si j'ai trouvé miséricorde à vos yeux, et si vous accomplissez aujourd'hui par moi tout ce que vous m'avez promis,

Y él respondió: Yo te ruego, que si he hallado gracia delante de ti, me des señal de que tú has hablado conmigo.

And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

He said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.

Ne vous éloignez pas d'ici que je n'y revienne ; j'apporterai une victime, et je la sacrifierai devant vous. Et l'ange répondit : Je vais rester jusqu'à ton retour.

Ruégote que no te vayas de aquí, hasta que á ti vuelva, y saque mi presente, y lo ponga delante de ti. Y él respondió: Yo esperaré hasta que vuelvas.

Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.

Please don’t go away until I come to you, and bring out my present, and lay it before you.” He said, “I will wait until you come back.”

Gédéon rentra donc ; il prépara un chevreau, et des pains sans levain d'une mesure de farine (éphi) ; il mit les chairs sur une corbeille, il versa le jus dans un vase ; il porta tout cela à l'ange sous le térébinthe, et il s'approcha de lui.

Y entrándose Gedeón aderezó un cabrito, y panes sin levadura de un epha de harina; y puso la carne en un canastillo, y el caldo en una olla, y sacándolo presentóselo debajo de aquel alcornoque.

And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.

Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal. He put the meat in a basket and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it.

Et l'ange de Dieu lui dit : Prends les chairs et les azymes, dépose-les sur cette pierre, et répands le jus par-dessus ; ainsi fit Gédéon.

Y el ángel de Dios le dijo: Toma la carne, y los panes sin levadura, y ponlo sobre esta peña, y vierte el caldo. Y él lo hizo así.

And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.

The angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” He did so.

Et l'ange du Seigneur étendit le bout de la baguette qu'il tenait à la main ; il toucha les chairs et les azymes, et il s'éleva de la pierre une flamme qui dévora les chairs et les azymes ; et l'ange du Seigneur disparut à ses yeux.

Y extendiendo el ángel de Jehová el bordón que tenía en su mano, tocó con la punta en la carne y en los panes sin levadura; y subió fuego de la peña, el cual consumió la carne y los panes sin levadura. Y el ángel de Jehová desapareció de delante de él.

Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.

Then the LORD’s angel stretched out the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes; and fire went up out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. Then the LORD’s angel departed out of his sight.

Gédéon vit ainsi que c'était un ange du Seigneur, et il dit : Hélas ! hélas ! Seigneur, mon Seigneur, j'ai vu face à face un ange du Seigneur.

Y viendo Gedeón que era el ángel de Jehová, dijo: Ah, Señor Jehová, que he visto el ángel de Jehová cara á cara.

And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.

Gideon saw that he was the LORD’s angel; and Gideon said, “Alas, Lord GOD! Because I have seen the LORD’s angel face to face!”

Et le Seigneur lui dit : La paix soit avec toi ; n'aie point crainte, tu ne mourras point.

Y Jehová le dijo: Paz á ti; no tengas temor, no morirás.

And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.

The LORD said to him, “Peace be to you! Don’t be afraid. You shall not die.”

Gédéon éleva en ce lieu un autel au Seigneur, et il le nomma la Paix du Seigneur, comme on le nomme de nos jours, car il subsiste encore en Ephratha, ville du père Esdri.

Y edificó allí Gedeón altar á Jehová, al que llamó Jehová-salom: está hasta hoy en Ophra de los Abiezeritas.

Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.

Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it “The LORD is Peace.” To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Cette nuit même il advint que le Seigneur dit à Gédéon : Prends le taureau de ton père, avec une seconde tête de sept ans ; puis tu renverseras l'autel de Baal appartenant à ton père, et tu détruiras le bois sacré qui est tout auprès ;

Y aconteció que la misma noche le dijo Jehová: Toma un toro del hato de tu padre, y otro toro de siete años, y derriba el altar de Baal que tu padre tiene, y corta también el bosque que está junto á él:

And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:

That same night, the LORD said to him, “Take your father’s bull, even the second bull seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is by it.

Cela fait, tu élèveras un autel au Seigneur ton Dieu sur la cime de ce mont Maozi, en signe de résistance ; tu prendras la seconde tête de bétail, et tu l'offriras comme holocauste, en la brûlant avec les arbres du bois sacré que tu auras détruit.

Y edifica altar á Jehová tu Dios en la cumbre de este peñasco en lugar conveniente; y tomando el segundo toro, sacrifícalo en holocausto sobre la leña del bosque que habrás cortado.

And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.

Then build an altar to the LORD your God on the top of this stronghold, in an orderly way, and take the second bull, and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down.”

Gédéon prit dix de ses serviteurs, et il fit ce que le Seigneur lui avait dit. Or, comme il craignait, à cause de la maison de son père et des hommes de la ville, de le faire en plein jour, il le fit la nuit.

Entonces Gedeón tomó diez hombres de sus siervos, é hizo como Jehová le dijo. Mas temiendo hacerlo de día, por la familia de su padre y por los hombres de la ciudad, hízolo de noche.

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father’s household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had spoken to him. Because he feared his father’s household and the men of the city, he could not do it by day, but he did it by night.

Les hommes de la ville se levèrent de grand matin, et voilà que l'autel de Baal était renversé, et le bois sacré situé tout auprès détruit ; et ils virent la seconde tête de bétail que Gédéon avait offerte, sur l'autel qu'il avait élevé.

Y á la mañana, cuando los de la ciudad se levantaron, he aquí que el altar de Baal estaba derribado, y cortado el bosque que junto á él estaba, y sacrificado aquel segundo toro en holocausto sobre el altar edificado.

And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.

When the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was broken down, and the Asherah was cut down that was by it, and the second bull was offered on the altar that was built.

Chacun dit à son voisin : Qui a fait cela ? ils s'informèrent, et ils apprirent que c'était Gédéon, fils de Joas.

Y decíanse unos á otros: ¿Quién ha hecho esto? Y buscando é inquiriendo, dijéronles: Gedeón hijo de Joas lo ha hecho. Entonces los hombres de la ciudad dijeron á Joas:

And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.

They said to one another, “Who has done this thing?” When they inquired and asked, they said, “Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.”

Les hommes de la ville dirent alors à Joas : Amène-nous ton fils ; qu'il soit mis à mort, parce qu'il a renversé l'autel de Baal et qu'il a détruit le bois sacré situé auprès.

Saca fuera tu hijo para que muera, por cuanto ha derribado el altar de Baal y ha cortado el bosque que junto á él estaba.

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.

Then the men of the city said to Joash, “Bring out your son, that he may die, because he has broken down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the Asherah that was by it.”

Et Gédéon, fils de Joas, dit à tous les hommes de la ville, qui s'étaient soulevés contre lui : Allez-vous plaider pour Baal ? est-ce vous qui le sauverez ? Que celui qui plaidera pour Baal soit mis à mort avant le lever du jour. Si Baal est Dieu, qu'il se venge, puisqu'on a renversé son autel.

Y Joas respondió á todos los que estaban junto á él: ¿Tomaréis vosotros la demanda por Baal? ¿le salvaréis vosotros? Cualquiera que tomare la demanda por él, que muera mañana. Si es Dios, contienda por sí mismo con el que derribó su altar.

And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.

Joash said to all who stood against him, “Will you contend for Baal? Or will you save him? He who will contend for him, let him be put to death by morning! If he is a god, let him contend for himself, because someone has broken down his altar!”

Et il se donna à lui-même ce jour-là le nom de Jérobaal, en disant : Que Baal se venge, puisque son autel a été renversé.

Y aquel día llamó él á Gedeón Jerobaal; porque dijo: Pleitee Baal contra el que derribó su altar.

Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.

Therefore on that day he named him Jerub-Baal, saying, “Let Baal contend against him, because he has broken down his altar.”

En ce temps-là, Madian, Amalec, et les fils de l'Orient, étaient rassembles tous à la fois ; ils campaient dans la vallée de Jezraël ;

Y todos los Madianitas, y Amalecitas, y orientales, se juntaron á una, y pasando asentaron campo en el valle de Jezreel.

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east assembled themselves together; and they passed over, and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

Et l'esprit du Seigneur vint en Gédéon ; il fit sonner du cor, et sur ses pas Abiézer accourut à son secours.

Y el espíritu de Jehová se envistió en Gedeón, y como éste hubo tocado el cuerno, Abiezer se juntó con él.

But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.

But the LORD’s Spirit came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered together to follow him.

Alors, il dépêcha des messagers à tout Manassé, a Azer, à Zabulon et à Nephthali, et il marcha au-devant des hommes de ces tribus.

Y envió mensajeros por todo Manasés, el cual también se juntó con él: asimismo envió mensajeros á Aser, y á Zabulón, y á Nephtalí, los cuales salieron á encontrarles.

And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

Et Gédéon dit à Dieu : Si votre volonté est de sauver par ma main Israël, comme vous avez dit,

Y Gedeón dijo á Dios: Si has de salvar á Israel por mi mano, como has dicho,

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,

Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken,

Voyez : je dépose dans l'aire cette toison de laine ; que la rosée se montre sur la toison seule et qu'il y ait sécheresse sur toute la terre, et je reconnaîtrai votre volonté de sauver par ma main Israël, comme vous avez dit.

He aquí que yo pondré un vellón de lana en la era; y si el rocío estuviere en el vellón solamente, quedando seca toda la otra tierra, entonces entenderé que has de salvar á Israel por mi mano, como lo has dicho.

Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I’ll know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken.”

Il en fut ainsi. Gédéon se leva de grand matin ; il pressa la toison, la rosée coula de la laine, et remplit d'eau un bassin.

Y aconteció así: porque como se levantó de mañana, exprimiendo el vellón sacó de él el rocío, un vaso lleno de agua.

And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

Ensuite, Gédéon dit à Dieu : Que votre courroux ne s'enflamme point contre moi, et je parlerai une seule fois encore, je ferai une seule fois encore l'épreuve de la toison : que la sécheresse se montre sur la toison seule, et la rosée sur toute la terre.

Mas Gedeón dijo á Dios: No se encienda tu ira contra mí, si aun hablare esta vez: solamente probaré ahora otra vez con el vellón. Ruégote que la sequedad sea sólo en el vellón, y el rocío sobre la tierra.

And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

Gideon said to God, “Don’t let your anger be kindled against me, and I will speak but this once. Please let me make a trial just this once with the fleece. Let it now be dry only on the fleece, and on all the ground let there be dew.”

Dieu fit ainsi en cette nuit même : la sécheresse se montra sur la toison seule, et il y eut de la rosée sur toute la terre.

Y aquella noche lo hizo Dios así: porque la sequedad fué sólo en el vellón, y en toda la tierra estuvo el rocío.

And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
