E foi-se Abimeleque filho de Jerubaal a Siquém, aos irmãos de sua mãe, e falou com eles, e com toda a família da casa do pai de sua mãe, dizendo:

Y FUÉSE Abimelech hijo de Jerobaal á Sichêm, á los hermanos de su madre, y habló con ellos, y con toda la familia de la casa del padre de su madre, diciendo:

And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,

Eu vos rogo que faleis a ouvidos de todos os de Siquém: Que tendes por melhor, que vos dominem setenta homens, todos os filhos de Jerubaal; ou que vos senhoreie um homem? Lembrai-vos que eu sou osso vosso, e carne vossa.

Yo os ruego que habléis á oídos de todos los de Sichêm: ¿Qué tenéis por mejor, que os señoreen setenta hombres, todos los hijos de Jerobaal; ó que os señoree un varón? Acordaos que yo soy hueso vuestro, y carne vuestra.

Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.

“Please speak in the ears of all the men of Shechem, ‘Is it better for you that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are seventy persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you?’ Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.”

E falaram por ele os irmãos de sua mãe a ouvidos de todos os de Siquém todas estas palavras: e o coração deles se inclinou em favor de Abimeleque, porque diziam: Nosso irmão é.

Y hablaron por él los hermanos de su madre á oídos de todos los de Sichêm todas estas palabras: y el corazón de ellos se inclinó en favor de Abimelech, porque decían: Nuestro hermano es.

And his mother’s brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.

E deram-lhe setenta siclos de prata do templo de Baal-Berite, com os quais Abimeleque contratou homens ociosos e vagabundos, que lhe seguiram.

Y diéronle setenta siclos de plata del templo de Baal-berith, con los cuales Abimelech alquiló hombres ociosos y vagabundos, que le siguieron.

And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

E vindo à casa de seu pai em Ofra, matou a seus irmãos os filhos de Jerubaal, setenta homens, sobre uma pedra: mas restou Jotão, o menor filho de Jerubaal, que se escondeu.

Y viniendo á la casa de su padre en Ophra, mató á sus hermanos los hijos de Jerobaal, setenta varones, sobre una piedra: mas quedó Jotham, el más pequeño hijo de Jerobaal, que se escondió.

And he went unto his father’s house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.

He went to his father’s house at Ophrah, and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, on one stone; but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

E reunidos todos os de Siquém com toda a casa de Milo, foram e elegeram a Abimeleque por rei, próximo da planície do pilar que estava em Siquém.

Y reunidos todos los de Sichêm con toda la casa de Millo, fueron y eligieron á Abimelech por rey, cerca de la llanura del pilar que estaba en Sichêm.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.

E quando se o disseram a Jotão, foi e pôs-se no cume do monte de Gerizim, e levantando sua voz clamou, e disse-lhes: Ouvi-me, homens de Siquém; que Deus vos ouça.

Y como se lo dijesen á Jotham, fué y púsose en la cumbre del monte de Gerizim, y alzando su voz clamó, y díjoles: Oidme, varones de Sichêm; que Dios os oiga.

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

Foram as árvores a eleger rei sobre si, e disseram à oliva: Reina sobre nós.

The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.

Mas a oliveira respondeu: Tenho de deixar meu azeite, com o que por minha causa Deus e os homens são honrados, para ir a ser grande sobre as árvores?

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the olive tree said to them, ‘Should I stop producing my oil, with which they honor God and man by me, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

E disseram as árvores à figueira: Anda tu, reina sobre nós.

And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.

E respondeu a figueira: Tenho de deixar minha doçura e meu bom fruto, para ir a ser grande sobre as árvores?

Y respondió la higuera: ¿Tengo de dejar mi dulzura y mi buen fruto, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the fig tree said to them, ‘Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.

E a vide lhes respondeu: Tenho de deixar meu mosto, que alegra a Deus e aos homens, para ir a ser grande sobre as árvores?

Y la vid les respondió: ¿Tengo de dejar mi mosto, que alegra á Dios y á los hombres, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“The vine said to them, ‘Should I leave my new wine, which cheers God and man, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

E o espinheiro respondeu às árvores: Se em verdade me elegeis por rei sobre vós, vinde, e assegurai-vos debaixo de minha sombra: e se não, fogo saia do espinheiro que devore os cedros do Líbano.

Y el escaramujo respondió á los árboles: Si en verdad me elegís por rey sobre vosotros, venid, y aseguraos debajo de mi sombra: y si no, fuego salga del escaramujo que devore los cedros del Líbano.

And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

“The bramble said to the trees, ‘If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.’

Agora, pois, se com verdade e com integridade tendes procedido em fazer rei a Abimeleque, e se o fizestes bem com Jerubaal e com sua casa, e se lhe haveis pagado conforme a obra de suas mãos;

Ahora pues, si con verdad y con integridad habéis procedido en hacer rey á Abimelech, y si lo habéis hecho bien con Jerobaal y con su casa, y si le habéis pagado conforme á la obra de sus manos;

Now therefore, if ye have done truly and sincerely, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;

“Now therefore, if you have dealt truly and righteously, in that you have made Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done to him according to the deserving of his hands

(Pois que meu pai lutou por vós, e expulsou longe sua vida para livrar-vos da mão de Midiã;

(Pues que mi padre peleó por vosotros, y echó lejos su vida por libraros de mano de Madián;

(For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:

(for my father fought for you, risked his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian;

E vós vos levantastes hoje contra a casa de meu pai, e matastes seus filhos, setenta homens, sobre uma pedra; e pusestes por rei sobre os de Siquém a Abimeleque, filho de sua criada, porquanto é vosso irmão);

Y vosotros os levantasteis hoy contra la casa de mi padre, y matasteis sus hijos, setenta varones, sobre una piedra; y habéis puesto por rey sobre los de Sichêm á Abimelech, hijo de su criada, por cuanto es vuestro hermano:)

And ye are risen up against my father’s house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)

Se com verdade e com integridade agistes hoje com Jerubaal e com sua casa, alegrai-vos de Abimeleque, e ele se alegre de vós.

Si con verdad y con integridad habéis obrado hoy con Jerobaal y con su casa, que gocéis de Abimelech, y él goce de vosotros.

If ye then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:

if you then have dealt truly and righteously with Jerubbaal and with his house today, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you;

E se não, fogo saia de Abimeleque, que consuma aos de Siquém e à casa de Milo; e fogo saia dos de Siquém e da casa de Milo, que consuma a Abimeleque.

Y si no, fuego salga de Abimelech, que consuma á los de Sichêm y á la casa de Millo; y fuego salga de los de Sichêm y de la casa de Millo, que consuma á Abimelech.

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

E fugiu Jotão, e se escapou, e foi-se a Beer, e ali se esteve por causa de Abimeleque seu irmão.

Y huyó Jotham, y se fugó, y fuése á Beer, y allí se estuvo por causa de Abimelech su hermano.

And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.

E depois que Abimeleque dominou sobre Israel três anos,

Enviou Deus um espírito mau entre Abimeleque e os homens de Siquém: que os de Siquém se levantaram contra Abimeleque:

Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:

Para que o crime dos setenta filhos de Jerubaal, e o sangue deles, viesse a se pôr sobre Abimeleque seu irmão que os matou, e sobre os homens de Siquém que corroboraram as mãos dele para matar a seus irmãos.

Para que el agravio de los setenta hijos de Jerobaal, y la sangre de ellos, viniera á ponerse sobre Abimelech su hermano que los mató, y sobre los hombres de Sichêm que corroboraron las manos de él para matar á sus hermanos.

That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.

that the violence done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come, and that their blood might be laid on Abimelech their brother who killed them, and on the men of Shechem who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.

E puseram-lhe os de Siquém emboscadores nos cumes dos montes, os quais assaltavam a todos os que passavam junto a eles pelo caminho; do que foi dado aviso a Abimeleque.

Y pusiéronle los de Sichêm asechadores en las cumbres de los montes, los cuales salteaban á todos los que pasaban junto á ellos por el camino; de lo que fué dado aviso á Abimelech.

And the men of Shechem set liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.

E Gaal filho de Ebede veio com seus irmãos, e passaram a Siquém: e os de Siquém se confiaram nele.

E saindo ao campo, vindimaram suas vinhas, e pisaram a uva, e fizeram alegrias; e entrando no templo de seus deuses, comeram e beberam, e amaldiçoaram a Abimeleque.

And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.

And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?

Gaal the son of Ebed said, “Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Isn’t he the son of Jerubbaal? Isn’t Zebul his officer? Serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem, but why should we serve him?

Fosse-me dado este povo abaixo de minha mão, eu expulsaria logo a Abimeleque. E dizia a Abimeleque: Aumenta teus esquadrões, e sai.

Fuérame dado este pueblo bajo de mi mano, yo echaría luego á Abimelech. Y decía á Abimelech: Aumenta tus escuadrones, y sal.

And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.

I wish that this people were under my hand! Then I would remove Abimelech.” He said to Abimelech, “Increase your army and come out!”

E Zebul assistente da cidade, ouvindo as palavras de Gaal filho de Ebede, acendeu-se sua ira;

And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.

E enviou sagazmente mensageiros a Abimeleque, dizendo: Eis que Gaal filho de Ebede e seus irmãos vieram a Siquém, e eis que cercaram a cidade contra ti.

Y envió sagazmente mensajeros á Abimelech, diciendo: He aquí que Gaal hijo de Ebed y sus hermanos han venido á Sichêm, y he aquí, que han cercado la ciudad contra ti.

And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee.

E pela manhã ao sair do sol te levantarás e atacarás a cidade: e ele e o povo que está com ele sairão contra ti, e tu farás com ele segundo que se te oferecerá.

Y por la mañana al salir del sol te levantarás y acometerás la ciudad: y él y el pueblo que está con él saldrán contra ti, y tu harás con él según que se te ofrecerá.

And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.

It shall be that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, you shall rise early and rush on the city. Behold, when he and the people who are with him come out against you, then may you do to them as you shall find occasion.”

Levantando-se, pois, de noite Abimeleque e todo aquele povo que com ele estava, puseram emboscada contra Siquém com quatro companhias.

E vendo Gaal o povo, disse a Zebul: Eis ali povo que desce dos cumes dos montes. E Zebul lhe respondeu: A sombra dos montes te parece homens.

Y viendo Gaal el pueblo, dijo á Zebul: He allí pueblo que desciende de las cumbres de los montes. Y Zebul le respondió: La sombra de los montes te parece hombres.

And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.

When Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Behold, people are coming down from the tops of the mountains.” Zebul said to him, “You see the shadows of the mountains as if they were men.”

Mas Gaal voltou a falar, e disse: Eis ali um povo que desce por meio da terra, e um esquadrão vem pelo caminho da campina de Meonenim.

Mas Gaal tornó á hablar, y dijo: He allí pueblo que desciende por medio de la tierra, y un escuadrón viene camino de la campiña de Meonenim.

And Gaal spake again and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.

Gaal spoke again and said, “Behold, people are coming down by the middle of the land, and one company comes by the way of the oak of Meonenim.”

E Zebul lhe respondeu: Onde está agora aquele teu falar, dizendo; Quem é Abimeleque para que lhe sirvamos? Não é este o povo que menosprezavas? Sai, pois, agora, e luta com ele.

Y Zebul le respondió: ¿Dónde está ahora aquel tu hablar, diciendo: Quién es Abimelech para que le sirvamos? ¿No es este el pueblo que tenías en poco? Sal pues ahora, y pelea con él.

Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

Then Zebul said to him, “Now where is your mouth, that you said, ‘Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Isn’t this the people that you have despised? Please go out now and fight with them.”

E Gaal saiu diante dos de Siquém, e lutou contra Abimeleque.

And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.

E aconteceu ao dia seguinte, que o povo saiu ao campo: e foi dado aviso a Abimeleque.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.

E assim todo aquele povo cortou também cada um seu ramo, e seguiram a Abimeleque, e puseram-nas junto à fortaleza, e prenderam fogo com elas à fortaleza: por maneira que todos os da torre de Siquém morreram, como uns mil homens e mulheres.
