Abimelech aber, der Sohn Jerubbaals, ging hin gen Sichem zu den Brudern seiner Mutter und redete mit ihnen und mit dem ganzen Geschlecht des Hauses seiner Mutter Vaters und sprach:

Y FUÉSE Abimelech hijo de Jerobaal á Sichêm, á los hermanos de su madre, y habló con ellos, y con toda la familia de la casa del padre de su madre, diciendo:

And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,

Lieber, redet vor den Ohren aller Manner zu Sichem: Was ist euch besser, daü siebenzig Manner, alle Kinder Jerubbaals, über euch Herren seien, Oder daß ein Mann über euch Herr sei? Gedenket auch dabei, daß ich euer Gebein und Fleisch bin.

Yo os ruego que habléis á oídos de todos los de Sichêm: ¿Qué tenéis por mejor, que os señoreen setenta hombres, todos los hijos de Jerobaal; ó que os señoree un varón? Acordaos que yo soy hueso vuestro, y carne vuestra.

Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.

“Please speak in the ears of all the men of Shechem, ‘Is it better for you that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are seventy persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you?’ Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.”

Da redeten die Brüder seiner Mutter von ihm alle diese Worte vor den Ohren aller Manner zu Sichem; und ihr Herz neigte sich Abimelech nach, denn sie gedachten: Er ist unser Bruder.

Y hablaron por él los hermanos de su madre á oídos de todos los de Sichêm todas estas palabras: y el corazón de ellos se inclinó en favor de Abimelech, porque decían: Nuestro hermano es.

And his mother’s brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.

Und gaben ihm siebenzig Silberlinge aus dem Hause Baal-Beriths. Und Abimelech dingete damit lose, leichtfertige Manner, die ihm nachfolgeten.

And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

Und er kam in seines Vaters Haus gen Ophra und erwürgete seine Brüder, die Kinder Jerubbaals, siebenzig Mann, auf einem Stein. Es blieb aber über Jotham, der jüngste Sohn Jerubbaals; denn erward versteckt.

Y viniendo á la casa de su padre en Ophra, mató á sus hermanos los hijos de Jerobaal, setenta varones, sobre una piedra: mas quedó Jotham, el más pequeño hijo de Jerobaal, que se escondió.

And he went unto his father’s house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.

He went to his father’s house at Ophrah, and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, on one stone; but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Und es versammelten sich alle Manner von Sichem und das ganze Haus Müio, gingen hin und machten Abimelech zum Konige bei der hohen Eiche, die zu Sichem stehet.

Y reunidos todos los de Sichêm con toda la casa de Millo, fueron y eligieron á Abimelech por rey, cerca de la llanura del pilar que estaba en Sichêm.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.

Da das angesagt ward dem Jotham, ging er hin und trat auf die Hohe des Berges Grisim und hub auf seine Stimme, rief und sprach zu ihnen: Horet mich, ihr Manner zu Sichem, daß euch Gott auch hore!

Y como se lo dijesen á Jotham, fué y púsose en la cumbre del monte de Gerizim, y alzando su voz clamó, y díjoles: Oidme, varones de Sichêm; que Dios os oiga.

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

Die Baume gingen hin, daß sie einen Konig über sich salbeten, und sprachen zum Olbaum: Sei unser Konig!

Aber der Olbaum antwortete ihnen: Soil ich meine Fettigkeit lassen, die beide, Gotter und Menschen, an mir preisen, und hingehen, daß ich schwebe uber die Baume?

Mas la oliva respondió: ¿Tengo de dejar mi pingüe jugo, con el que por mi causa Dios y los hombres son honrados, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the olive tree said to them, ‘Should I stop producing my oil, with which they honor God and man by me, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Da sprachen die Baume zum Feigenbaum: Komm du und sei unser Konig!

Y dijeron los árboles á la higuera: Anda tú, reina sobre nosotros.

And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.

“The trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and reign over us.’

Aber der Feigenbaum sprach zu ihnen: Soil ich meine Süftigkeit und meine gute Frucht lassen und hingehen, daß ich uber den Baumen schwebe?

Y respondió la higuera: ¿Tengo de dejar mi dulzura y mi buen fruto, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the fig tree said to them, ‘Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Da sprachen die Baume zum Weinstock: Komm du und sei unser Konig!

Dijeron luego los árboles á la vid: Pues ven tú, reina sobre nosotros.

Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.

Aber der Weinstock sprach zu ihnen: Soli ich meinen Most lassen, der Gotter und Menschen frohlich macht, und hingehen, daß ich uber den Baumen schwebe?

Y la vid les respondió: ¿Tengo de dejar mi mosto, que alegra á Dios y á los hombres, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“The vine said to them, ‘Should I leave my new wine, which cheers God and man, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Da sprachen alle Baume zum Dornbusch: Komm du und sei unser Konig!

Dijeron entonces todos los árboles al escaramujo: Anda tú, reina sobre nosotros.

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

“Then all the trees said to the bramble, ‘Come and reign over us.’

Und der Dornbusch sprach zu den Baumen: Ist's wahr, daß ihr mich zum Konige salbet uber euch, so kommt und vertrauet euch unter meinen Schatten; wo nicht, so gehe Feuer aus dem Dornbusch und verzehre die Zedern Libanons.

Y el escaramujo respondió á los árboles: Si en verdad me elegís por rey sobre vosotros, venid, y aseguraos debajo de mi sombra: y si no, fuego salga del escaramujo que devore los cedros del Líbano.

And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

“The bramble said to the trees, ‘If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.’

Habt ihr nun recht und redlich getan, daß ihr Abimelech zum Konige gemacht habt? Und habt ihr wohlgetan an Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause und habt ihm getan, wie er urn euch verdienet hat,

Ahora pues, si con verdad y con integridad habéis procedido en hacer rey á Abimelech, y si lo habéis hecho bien con Jerobaal y con su casa, y si le habéis pagado conforme á la obra de sus manos;

Now therefore, if ye have done truly and sincerely, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;

daß mein Vater urn euretwillen gestritten hat und seine Seele dahingeworfen von sich, daß er euch errettete von der Midianiter Hand?

(Pues que mi padre peleó por vosotros, y echó lejos su vida por libraros de mano de Madián;

(For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:

Und ihr lehnet euch auf heute wider meines Vaters Haus und erwurget seine Kinder, siebenzig Mann, auf einem Stein; und machet euch einen Konig, Abimelech, seiner Magd Sohn, uber die Manner zu Sichem, weil er euer Bruder ist.

Y vosotros os levantasteis hoy contra la casa de mi padre, y matasteis sus hijos, setenta varones, sobre una piedra; y habéis puesto por rey sobre los de Sichêm á Abimelech, hijo de su criada, por cuanto es vuestro hermano:)

And ye are risen up against my father’s house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)

Habt ihr nun recht und redlich gehandelt an Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause an diesem Tage, so seid frohlich uber dem Abimelech, und er sei frohlich uber euch.

Si con verdad y con integridad habéis obrado hoy con Jerobaal y con su casa, que gocéis de Abimelech, y él goce de vosotros.

If ye then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:

if you then have dealt truly and righteously with Jerubbaal and with his house today, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you;

Wo nicht, so gehe Feuer aus von Abimelech und verzehre die Manner zu Sichem und das Haus Millo; und gehe auch Feuer aus von den Mannern zu Sichem und vom Hause Millo und verzehre Abimelech.

Y si no, fuego salga de Abimelech, que consuma á los de Sichêm y á la casa de Millo; y fuego salga de los de Sichêm y de la casa de Millo, que consuma á Abimelech.

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

Und Jotham floh und entwich; und ging gen Ber und wohnte daselbst vor seinem Bruder Abimelech.

sandte Gott einen bosen Willen zwischen Abimelech und den Mannern zu Sichem. Denn die Manner zu Sichem versprachen Abimelech;

Envió Dios un espíritu malo entre Abimelech y los hombres de Sichêm: que los de Sichêm se levantaron contra Abimelech:

und zogen an den Frevel, an den siebenzig Sohnen Jerubbaals begangen, und legten derselben Blut auf Abimelech, ihren Bruder, der sie erwurget hatte, und auf die Manner zu Sichem, die ihm seine Hand dazu gestarket hatten, daß er seine Bruder erwurgete.

Para que el agravio de los setenta hijos de Jerobaal, y la sangre de ellos, viniera á ponerse sobre Abimelech su hermano que los mató, y sobre los hombres de Sichêm que corroboraron las manos de él para matar á sus hermanos.

That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.

that the violence done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come, and that their blood might be laid on Abimelech their brother who killed them, and on the men of Shechem who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.

Und die Manner zu Sichem bestelleten einen Hinterhalt auf den Spitzen der Berge und raubten alle, die auf der Strafte zu ihnen wandelten. Und es ward Abimelech angesagt.

Y pusiéronle los de Sichêm asechadores en las cumbres de los montes, los cuales salteaban á todos los que pasaban junto á ellos por el camino; de lo que fué dado aviso á Abimelech.

And the men of Shechem set liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.

Es kam aber Gaal, der Sohn Ebeds, und seine Bruder und gingen zu Sichem ein. Und die Manner zu Sichem verlieften sich auf ihn;

And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?

Wollte Gott, das Volk ware unter meiner Hand, daß ich den Abimelech vertriebe! Und es ward Abimelech gesagt: Mehre dein Heer und zeuch aus!

Fuérame dado este pueblo bajo de mi mano, yo echaría luego á Abimelech. Y decía á Abimelech: Aumenta tus escuadrones, y sal.

And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.

Denn Sebul, der Oberste in der Stadt, da er die Worte Gaals, des Sohns Ebeds, horete, ergrimmete er in seinem Zorn

Y Zebul asistente de la ciudad, oyendo las palabras de Gaal hijo de Ebed, encendióse su ira;

und sandte Botschaft zu Abimelech heimlich und lieft ihm sagen: Siehe, Gaal, der Sohn Ebeds, und seine Bruder sind gen Sichem kommen und machen dir die Stadt widerwartig.

Y envió sagazmente mensajeros á Abimelech, diciendo: He aquí que Gaal hijo de Ebed y sus hermanos han venido á Sichêm, y he aquí, que han cercado la ciudad contra ti.

And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee.

So mache dich nun auf bei der Nacht, du und dein Volk, das bei dir ist, und mache einen Hinterhalt auf sie im Felde.

Levántate pues ahora de noche, tú y el pueblo que está contigo, y pon emboscada en el campo:

Now therefore up by night, thou and the people that is with thee, and lie in wait in the field:

Und des Morgens, wenn die Sonne aufgehet, so mache dich frühe auf und uberfalle die Stadt. Und wo er und das Volk, das bei ihm ist, zu dir hinauszeucht, so tue mit ihm, wie es deine Hand findet.

Y por la mañana al salir del sol te levantarás y acometerás la ciudad: y él y el pueblo que está con él saldrán contra ti, y tu harás con él según que se te ofrecerá.

And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.

Abimelech stund auf bei der Nacht und alles Volk, das bei ihm war, und hielt auf Sichem mit vier Haufen.

Levantándose pues de noche Abimelech y todo el pueblo que con él estaba, pusieron emboscada contra Sichêm con cuatro compañías.

Und Gaal, der Sohn Ebeds, zog heraus und trat vor die Tur an der Stadt Tor. Aber Abimelech machte sich auf aus dem Hinterhalt samt dem Volk, das mit ihm war.

Da nun Gaal das Volk sah, sprach er zu Sebul: Siehe, da kommt ein Volk von der Hohe des Gebirges hernieder. Sebul aber sprach zu ihm: Du siehest die Schatten der Berge fur Leute an.

Y viendo Gaal el pueblo, dijo á Zebul: He allí pueblo que desciende de las cumbres de los montes. Y Zebul le respondió: La sombra de los montes te parece hombres.

And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.

When Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Behold, people are coming down from the tops of the mountains.” Zebul said to him, “You see the shadows of the mountains as if they were men.”

Gaal redete noch mehr und sprach: Siehe, ein Volk kommt hernieder aus dem Mittel des Landes, und ein Haufe kommt auf dem Wege zur Zaubereiche.

Mas Gaal tornó á hablar, y dijo: He allí pueblo que desciende por medio de la tierra, y un escuadrón viene camino de la campiña de Meonenim.

And Gaal spake again and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.

Gaal spoke again and said, “Behold, people are coming down by the middle of the land, and one company comes by the way of the oak of Meonenim.”

Da sprach Sebul zu ihm: Wo ist nun hie dein Maul, das da sagte: Wer ist Abimelech, daß wir ihm dienen sollten? Ist das nicht das Volk, das du verachtet hast? Zeuch nun aus und streite mit ihm!

Y Zebul le respondió: ¿Dónde está ahora aquel tu hablar, diciendo: Quién es Abimelech para que le sirvamos? ¿No es este el pueblo que tenías en poco? Sal pues ahora, y pelea con él.

Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

Then Zebul said to him, “Now where is your mouth, that you said, ‘Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Isn’t this the people that you have despised? Please go out now and fight with them.”

And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.

Auf den Morgen aber ging das Volk heraus aufs Feld. Da das Abimelech ward angesagt,

Y aconteció al siguiente día, que el pueblo salió al campo: y fué dado aviso á Abimelech.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.
