Und Abimelech, Jerubbaals Sohn, ging nach Schechem zu den Brüdern seiner Mutter und redete zu ihnen und zu der ganzen Familie des Hauses des Vaters seiner Mutter und sagte:

Y FUÉSE Abimelech hijo de Jerobaal á Sichêm, á los hermanos de su madre, y habló con ellos, y con toda la familia de la casa del padre de su madre, diciendo:

And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,

Redet doch vor den Ohren aller Bürger Schechems: Was ist besser für euch, daß über euch herrschen siebzig Männer, alle Söhne Jerubbaals, oder daß ein Mann über euch herrscht; und gedenket, daß ich bin euer Gebein und euer Fleisch.

Yo os ruego que habléis á oídos de todos los de Sichêm: ¿Qué tenéis por mejor, que os señoreen setenta hombres, todos los hijos de Jerobaal; ó que os señoree un varón? Acordaos que yo soy hueso vuestro, y carne vuestra.

Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.

“Please speak in the ears of all the men of Shechem, ‘Is it better for you that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are seventy persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you?’ Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.”

Und die Brüder seiner Mutter redeten über ihn vor den Ohren aller Bürger Schechems alle diese Worte; und ihr Herz neigte sich dem Abimelech nach; denn sie sagten: Er ist unser Bruder;

Y hablaron por él los hermanos de su madre á oídos de todos los de Sichêm todas estas palabras: y el corazón de ellos se inclinó en favor de Abimelech, porque decían: Nuestro hermano es.

And his mother’s brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.

Und gaben ihm siebzig Silberlinge aus dem Hause des Baal-Berith; und Abimelech dingte damit lose leichtfertige Männer, die ihm nachfolgten.

Und er kam in das Haus seines Vaters nach Ophrath und erwürgte seine Brüder, die siebzig Mann, Söhne Jerubbaals, auf einem Stein; aber Jotham, Jerubbaals jüngster Sohn blieb übrig, denn er hatte sich versteckt.

Y viniendo á la casa de su padre en Ophra, mató á sus hermanos los hijos de Jerobaal, setenta varones, sobre una piedra: mas quedó Jotham, el más pequeño hijo de Jerobaal, que se escondió.

And he went unto his father’s house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.

He went to his father’s house at Ophrah, and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, on one stone; but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Und es sammelten sich alle Bürger Schechems und das ganze Haus Millo und gingen und machten Abimelech zum König bei der Eiche der Denksäule in Schechem.

Y reunidos todos los de Sichêm con toda la casa de Millo, fueron y eligieron á Abimelech por rey, cerca de la llanura del pilar que estaba en Sichêm.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.

Und man sagte dem Jotham an, und er ging hin und stand auf der Spitze des Berges Gerissim und erhob seine Stimme und rief und sprach zu ihnen: Höret auf mich, Bürger von Schechem, auf daß Gott auf euch höre.

Y como se lo dijesen á Jotham, fué y púsose en la cumbre del monte de Gerizim, y alzando su voz clamó, y díjoles: Oidme, varones de Sichêm; que Dios os oiga.

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

Und der Ölbaum sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich aufgeben meine Fettigkeit, die an mir Gott und die Menschen verherrlichen, und hingehen, um über den Bäumen zu schwanken?

Mas la oliva respondió: ¿Tengo de dejar mi pingüe jugo, con el que por mi causa Dios y los hombres son honrados, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the olive tree said to them, ‘Should I stop producing my oil, with which they honor God and man by me, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Und die Bäume sprachen zum Feigenbaum: Gehe du, und sei König über uns!

And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.

Und der Feigenbaum sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich aufgeben meine Süßigkeit und meinen guten Ertrag, um hinzugehen und über den Bäumen zu schwanken?

Y respondió la higuera: ¿Tengo de dejar mi dulzura y mi buen fruto, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“But the fig tree said to them, ‘Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Und die Bäume sprachen zu dem Weinstock: Gehe du, und sei König über uns.

Und der Weinstock sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich aufgeben meinen Most, der Gott und die Menschen fröhlich macht, und gehen, um über den Bäumen zu schwanken?

Y la vid les respondió: ¿Tengo de dejar mi mosto, que alegra á Dios y á los hombres, por ir á ser grande sobre los árboles?

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

“The vine said to them, ‘Should I leave my new wine, which cheers God and man, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Und alle Bäume sprachen zum Dornbusch: Gehe du, und sei König über uns!

Dijeron entonces todos los árboles al escaramujo: Anda tú, reina sobre nosotros.

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

“Then all the trees said to the bramble, ‘Come and reign over us.’

Und der Dornbusch sprach zu den Bäumen: Wenn ihr in Wahrheit mich über euch zum König salbet, so kommt, verlaßt euch auf meinen Schatten; und wo nicht, so gehe Feuer von dem Dornbusch aus und verzehre die Zedern Libanons.

Y el escaramujo respondió á los árboles: Si en verdad me elegís por rey sobre vosotros, venid, y aseguraos debajo de mi sombra: y si no, fuego salga del escaramujo que devore los cedros del Líbano.

And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

“The bramble said to the trees, ‘If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.’

Und nun, wenn ihr in Treue und Tadellosigkeit gehandelt, daß ihr den Abimelech zum Könige gemacht, und wenn ihr an dem Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause Gutes habt getan, und wenn ihr nach seiner Hände Wohltun ihm getan,

Ahora pues, si con verdad y con integridad habéis procedido en hacer rey á Abimelech, y si lo habéis hecho bien con Jerobaal y con su casa, y si le habéis pagado conforme á la obra de sus manos;

Now therefore, if ye have done truly and sincerely, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;

Dafür, daß mein Vater für euch gestritten und sein Leben von sich geworfen und euch errettet hat aus Midjans Hand;

(Pues que mi padre peleó por vosotros, y echó lejos su vida por libraros de mano de Madián;

(For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:

Und ihr seid heute aufgestanden wider meines Vaters Haus, und habt seine Söhne, siebzig Männer, auf einem Stein erwürgt, und machet seiner Magd Sohn, Abimelech, zum König über Schechems Bürger, weil er euer Bruder ist;

And ye are risen up against my father’s house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)

and you have risen up against my father’s house today and have slain his sons, seventy persons, on one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his female servant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother);

Und wenn ihr mit Treue und Tadellosigkeit an Jerubbaal und an seinem Haus heute habt gehandelt, so seid fröhlich über Abimelech und auch er sei fröhlich über euch!

Si con verdad y con integridad habéis obrado hoy con Jerobaal y con su casa, que gocéis de Abimelech, y él goce de vosotros.

If ye then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:

if you then have dealt truly and righteously with Jerubbaal and with his house today, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you;

Wo aber nicht, so gehe Feuer von Abimelech aus und fresse Schechems Bürger und Millos Haus! Und es gehe Feuer aus von den Bürgern Schechems und von Millos Haus und fresse den Abimelech.

Y si no, fuego salga de Abimelech, que consuma á los de Sichêm y á la casa de Millo; y fuego salga de los de Sichêm y de la casa de Millo, que consuma á Abimelech.

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

Und Jotham floh und entwich und ging nach Beer und wohnte da wegen seines Bruders Abimelech.

Und Gott sandte einen bösen Geist zwischen Abimelech und Schechems Bürger, daß Schechems Bürger gegen Abimelech treulos handelten;

That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.

Und die Bürger Schechems legten wider ihn einen Hinterhalt auf die Spitzen der Berge und plünderten jeden aus, der bei ihnen auf dem Wege vorüberzog, und es ward Abimelech angesagt.

Y pusiéronle los de Sichêm asechadores en las cumbres de los montes, los cuales salteaban á todos los que pasaban junto á ellos por el camino; de lo que fué dado aviso á Abimelech.

And the men of Shechem set liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.

And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?

O, wer gäbe doch dies Volk in meine Hand, dann wollte ich Abimelech wegtun! Und zu Abimelech sprach er: Mehre dein Heer und zieh aus!

Fuérame dado este pueblo bajo de mi mano, yo echaría luego á Abimelech. Y decía á Abimelech: Aumenta tus escuadrones, y sal.

And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.

Und Sebul, der Oberste der Stadt, hörte die Worte Gaals, des Sohnes Ebeds, und sein Zorn entbrannte;

Y envió sagazmente mensajeros á Abimelech, diciendo: He aquí que Gaal hijo de Ebed y sus hermanos han venido á Sichêm, y he aquí, que han cercado la ciudad contra ti.

And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee.

Und nun mache dich auf bei der Nacht, du und das Volk, das bei dir ist, und lege einen Hinterhalt im Felde.

Levántate pues ahora de noche, tú y el pueblo que está contigo, y pon emboscada en el campo:

Und es soll sein, am Morgen, wenn die Sonne aufgeht, stehe früh auf und rücke wider die Stadt und siehe, er und das Volk, das mit ihm ist, gehen hinaus gegen dich, und dann tue mit ihnen, wie es deine Hand findet.

Y por la mañana al salir del sol te levantarás y acometerás la ciudad: y él y el pueblo que está con él saldrán contra ti, y tu harás con él según que se te ofrecerá.

And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.

Und Abimelech machte sich auf in der Nacht und alles Volk, das mit ihm war, und sie legten sich wider Schechem mit vier Haufen in Hinterhalt.

And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.

When Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Behold, people are coming down from the tops of the mountains.” Zebul said to him, “You see the shadows of the mountains as if they were men.”

Und Gaal redete wiederum und sprach: Siehe, von der Anhöhe des Landes dort kommt Volk herab, und ein Haufe kommt von dem Weg der Eiche der Wolkendeuter.

And Gaal spake again and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.

Und Sebul sprach zu ihm: Wo ist denn dein Maul, daß du sprachst: Wer ist der Abimelech, daß wir ihm dienen sollen? Ist dies nicht das Volk, das du verschmäht hast? Gehe nun aus und streite mit ihm!

Y Zebul le respondió: ¿Dónde está ahora aquel tu hablar, diciendo: Quién es Abimelech para que le sirvamos? ¿No es este el pueblo que tenías en poco? Sal pues ahora, y pelea con él.

Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

Then Zebul said to him, “Now where is your mouth, that you said, ‘Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Isn’t this the people that you have despised? Please go out now and fight with them.”

Und er nahm das Volk und teilte es in drei Haufen und legte sich auf dem Felde in Hinterhalt. Und er sah, und siehe, das Volk ging aus von der Stadt. Und er machte sich auf wider sie und schlug sie.
