Povo de Israel, ouça esta mensagem do Senhor:
OID la palabra que Jehová ha hablado sobre vosotros, oh casa de Israel.
Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

Assim diz o Senhor: “Não peguem o mau costume dos outros povos. Eles podem ficar assustados quando aparecem coisas estranhas nos céus, mas vocês não devem se assustar.
Así dijo Jehová: No aprendáis el camino de las gentes, ni de las señales del cielo tengáis temor, aunque las gentes las teman.
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
The LORD says, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
Os hábitos religiosos dessas nações são loucura! Eles derrubam uma árvore e dela fazem um ídolo, com o trabalho cuidadoso de um artista.
Porque las ordenanzas de los pueblos son vanidad: porque leño del monte cortaron, obra de manos de artífice con azuela.
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Depois enfeitam a imagem com ouro e prata e a prendem firmemente, com pregos e martelo, para não ser derrubada.
Con plata y oro lo engalanan; con clavos y martillo lo afirman, para que no se salga.

Esses ídolos têm tanto valor quanto um espantalho no meio de uma plantação de pepinos; não são capazes sequer de falar! Precisam ser transportados, porque não conseguem andar! Vocês não devem ter medo deles, porque eles não podem fazer nenhum mal, muito menos o bem”.
Como palma lo igualan, y no hablan; son llevados, porque no pueden andar. No tengáis temor de ellos; porque ni pueden hacer mal, ni para hacer bien tienen poder.
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Não há absolutamente nenhum deus igual ao Senhor! O Senhor é grande, e grande é o poder do seu nome.
No hay semejante á ti, oh Jehová; grande tú, y grande tu nombre en fortaleza.
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
There is no one like you, LORD. You are great, and your name is great in might.
Quem vai deixar de respeitar o rei das nações? O Senhor é o único rei, e por isso merece ser respeitado! Entre todos os homens sábios das nações, em todos os reinos do mundo, não há ninguém comparável ao Senhor.
¿Quién no te temerá, oh Rey de las gentes? porque á ti compete ello; porque entre todos los sabios de las gentes, y en todos sus reinos, no hay semejante á ti.
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
Who shouldn’t fear you, King of the nations? For it belongs to you. Because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is no one like you.
Quem adora os ídolos vai se tornado cada vez mais ignorante e tolo. Os ensinos dessa gente são inúteis; não valem a madeira com que fizeram o seu “deus”!
Y todos se infatuarán, y entontecerán. Enseñanza de vanidades es el mismo leño.
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols! It is just wood.
Eles trazem placas de prata de Társis, e de ouro, de Ufaz; então os artistas trabalham a madeira e os metais, fazendo uma bela imagem. Os seus vestidos são roxos e vermelhos; tudo não passa de uma obra de hábeis artesãos.
Traerán plata extendida de Tarsis, y oro de Uphaz; obrará el artífice, y las manos del fundidor; vestiránlos de cárdeno y de púrpura: obra de peritos es todo.
Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the engraver and of the hands of the goldsmith. Their clothing is blue and purple. They are all the work of skillful men.
Mas o Senhor é o único Deus verdadeiro; ele é o Deus vivo, o rei eterno. Quando ele se ira, a terra treme; as nações não podem suportar a sua ira.
Mas Jehová Dios es la verdad; él es Dios vivo y Rey eterno: á su ira tiembla la tierra, y las gentes no pueden sufrir su saña.
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

“Diga a essa gente que adora ídolos: Essas imagens que vocês chamam de deuses, que não fizeram a terra e os céus, desaparecerão da terra e de debaixo dos céus!”
Les diréis así: Los dioses que no hicieron los cielos ni la tierra, perezcan de la tierra y de debajo de estos cielos.
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
“You shall say this to them: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’”
Quem fez a terra pelo seu poder foi o Senhor; com a sua sabedoria, ele firmou o mundo, e com seu entendimento ele estendeu os céus!
El que hizo la tierra con su potencia, el que puso en orden el mundo con su saber, y extendió los cielos con su prudencia;
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens.
Quando Deus dá a ordem por meio do trovão, as águas rugem no céu e formam-se as grandes nuvens de chuva desde os confins da terra. Ele cria os relâmpagos que acompanham a tempestade; abre seu depósito e lança os ventos sobre a terra.
A su voz se da muchedumbre de aguas en el cielo, y hace subir las nubes de lo postrero de la tierra; hace los relámpagos con la lluvia, y saca el viento de sus depósitos.
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Por isso, quem adora ídolos vai se tornando estúpido e tolo! Cada ourives que fabrica uma imagem vai cair no ridículo porque, quando estiver em dificuldades, os falsos deuses que fizeram não serão capazes de dar a menor ajuda. Eles não têm o fôlego da vida.
Todo hombre se embrutece y le falta ciencia; avergüéncese de su vaciadizo todo fundidor: porque mentira es su obra de fundición, y no hay espíritu en ellos;
Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Os ídolos são pura ilusão, são objetos de zombaria. Serão destruídos quando os seus fabricantes forem castigados pelo Senhor.
Vanidad son, obra de escarnios: en el tiempo de su visitación perecerán.
They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.
Mas o Deus de Jacó não é igual a essas imagens sem vida e poder; foi ele que fez todas as coisas e fez de Israel o seu povo escolhido. O seu nome é o Senhor Todo-poderoso.
No es como ellos la suerte de Jacob: porque él es el Hacedor de todo, é Israel es la vara de su herencia: Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre.
The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.

Prepare-se, povo de Jerusalém, porque sua cidade será cercada pelo inimigo!
Recoge de las tierras tus mercaderías, la que moras en lugar fuerte.
Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.
Pois assim diz o Senhor: “Eu vou lançar vocês para fora desta terra; vou lhes dar grandes sofrimentos e assim vocês sentirão toda a minha ira”.
Porque así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que esta vez arrojaré con honda los moradores de la tierra, y he de afligirlos, para que lo hallen.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

Ai de mim; estou gravemente ferido! O meu sofrimento é grande; o meu mal não tem cura, mas eu devo suportar tudo isso!
¡Ay de mí, por mi quebrantamiento! mi llaga es muy dolorosa. Yo empero dije: Ciertamente enfermedad mía es esta, y debo sufrirla.
Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
Woe is me because of my injury! My wound is serious; but I said, “Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.”
A minha tenda foi derrubada; todas as cordas da minha tenda arrebentaram. Levaram embora os meus filhos, os filhos que eu nunca mais verei! E não sobrou uma pessoa para me ajudar a armar a minha tenda e não tenho ninguém para ajudar a reconstruir o meu abrigo!
Mi tienda es destruída, y todas mis cuerdas están rotas: mis hijos fueron sacados de mí, y perecieron: no hay ya más quien extienda mi tienda, ni quien levante mis cortinas.
My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
My tent has been destroyed, and all my cords are broken. My children have gone away from me, and they are no more. There is no one to spread my tent any more, to set up my curtains.
Os pastores do meu povo perderam a razão e não procuram saber o que Deus pensa. Por isso não prosperaram e o seu rebanho foi espalhado.
Porque los pastores se infatuaron, y no buscaron á Jehová: por tanto no prosperaron, y todo su ganado se esparció.
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
For the shepherds have become brutish, and have not inquired of the LORD. Therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks have scattered.
Ouçam! Ouçam o barulho dos exércitos vindo do Norte! Eles vão transformar as cidades de Judá em montes de ruínas, em tocas de chacais.
He aquí que voz de fama viene, y alboroto grande de la tierra del aquilón, para tornar en soledad todas las ciudades de Judá, en morada de culebras.
Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
The voice of news, behold, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.
Ó Senhor, eu sei que o homem é incapaz de traçar o rumo de sua vida; eu sei que o homem não pode planejar o seu futuro.
Conozco, oh Jehová, que el hombre no es señor de su camino, ni del hombre que camina es ordenar sus pasos.
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Por isso, Senhor, corrija-me, não com ira, mas com amor, para que não me reduza a nada.
Castígame, oh Jehová, mas con juicio; no con tu furor, porque no me aniquiles.
O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
LORD, correct me, but gently; not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.
Derrame a sua ira sobre essas nações que não obedecem ao Senhor, sobre os povos que não invocam o seu nome; pois eles arrasaram Israel, devoraram-no e destruíram completamente a sua terra.
Derrama tu enojo sobre las gentes que no te conocen, y sobre las naciones que no invocan tu nombre: porque se comieron á Jacob, y lo devoraron, y le han consumido, y asolado su morada.
Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name; for they have devoured Jacob. Yes, they have devoured him, consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.
