Jeremías 12

1Justo és tu, SENHOR, mesmo quando eu discuto contigo; falarei, porém, de juízos contigo. Por que o caminho dos perversos prospera, e todos os que agem enganosamente têm boa vida?
2Tu os plantaste, e firmaram raízes; eles progridem, e dão fruto; tu estás perto de suas bocas, porém longe de seus sentimentos.
3Mas tu, SENHOR, me conheces; tu me vês, e provas o meu coração para contigo. Arranca-os como a ovelhas para o matadouro, e reserva-os para o dia da matança.
4Até quando lamentará a terra, e a erva de todo o campo ficará seca? Pela maldade dos que nela habitam, os animais e as aves perecem; porque dizem: Ele não verá ele nosso fim.
5Se ao correres com os que estão a pé, eles te cansam, como competirás com os cavalos? E se somente em terra de paz te sentes seguro, como agirás tu nos matagais junto ao Jordão?
6Porque até teus irmãos e a casa de teu pai passaram a agir traiçoeiramente contra ti, até eles gritaram atrás de ti. Não creias neles, quando te falarem coisas boas.
7Deixei minha casa, abandonei minha herança, entreguei a amada de minha alma nas mãos de seus inimigos.
8Minha herança se tornou para mim como um leão na floresta: ela levantou sua voz contra mim; por isso que eu a odeio.
9Não é minha herança para mim uma ave de rapina de muitas cores? Não estão contra ela aves de rapina ao redor? Vinde, ajuntai-vos, todas os animais do campo, vinde para devorá-la.
10Muitos pastores destruíram minha vinha, pisaram meu campo; tornaram meu campo desejado em um deserto devastado.
11Tornaram-no em desolação, e lamenta a mim, desolado; toda a terra está desolada, porque ninguém há que pense nisso no coração.
12Sobre todos os lugares altos do deserto vieram destruidores; porque a espada do SENHOR devora desde um extremo da terra até o outro extremo; não haverá paz para nenhuma carne.
13Semearam trigo, e ceifarão espinhos; cansaram-se, mas não tiveram proveito algum. Envergonhai-vos de vossos frutos, por causa da ardente ira do SENHOR.
14Assim diz o SENHOR quanto a todos os meus maus vizinhos, que tocam a minha herança, a qual dei por herança a meu povo Israel: Eis que eu os arrancarei de sua terra, e arrancarei a casa de Judá do meio deles.
15E será que, depois de os arrancar, voltarei, terei compaixão deles, e os farei voltar cada um à sua herança, e cada um à sua terra.
16E será que, se cuidadosamente aprenderem os caminhos de meu povo, para jurar em meu nome, dizendo : Vive o SENHOR, assim como ensinaram a meu povo a jurar por Baal; eles serão edificados em meio do meu povo.
17Porém, se não quiserem ouvir, arrancarei à tal nação por completo, e a destruirei, diz o SENHOR.

1JUSTO eres tú, oh Jehová, aunque yo contigo dispute: hablaré empero juicios contigo. ¿Por qué es prosperado el camino de los impíos, y tienen bien todos los que se portan deslealmente?
2Plantástelos, y echaron raíces; progresaron, é hicieron fruto; cercano estás tú en sus bocas, mas lejos de sus riñones.
3Tú empero, oh Jehová, me conoces; vísteme, y probaste mi corazón para contigo: arráncalos como á ovejas para el degolladero, y señálalos para el día de la matanza.
4¿Hasta cuándo estará desierta la tierra, y marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la maldad de los que en ella moran, faltaron los ganados, y las aves; porque dijeron: No verá él nuestras postrimerías.
5Si corriste con los de á pie, y te cansaron, ¿cómo contenderás con los caballos? Y si en la tierra de paz estabas quieto, ¿cómo harás en la hinchazón del Jordán?
6Porque aun tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, aun ellos se levantaron contra ti, aun ellos dieron voces en pos de ti. No los creas, cuando bien te hablaren.
7He dejado mi casa, desamparé mi heredad, entregado he lo que amaba mi alma en manos de sus enemigos.
8Fué para mí mi heredad como león en breña: contra mí dió su voz; por tanto la aborrecí.
9¿Esme mi heredad ave de muchos colores? ¿no están contra ella aves en derredor? Venid, reuníos, vosotras todas las bestias del campo, venid á devorarla.
10Muchos pastores han destruído mi viña, hollaron mi heredad, tornaron en desierto y soledad mi heredad preciosa.
11Fué puesta en asolamiento, y lloró sobre mí, asolada: fué asolada toda la tierra, porque no hubo hombre que mirase.
12Sobre todos los lugares altos del desierto vinieron disipadores: porque la espada de Jehová devorará desde el un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo: no habrá paz para ninguna carne.
13Sembraron trigo, y segarán espinas; tuvieron la heredad, mas no aprovecharon nada: se avergonzarán de vuestros frutos, á causa de la ardiente ira de Jehová.
14Así dijo Jehová contra todos mis malos vecinos, que tocan la heredad que hice poseer á mi pueblo Israel: He aquí que yo los arrancaré de su tierra, y arrancaré de en medio de ellos la casa de Judá.
15Y será que, después que los hubiere arrancado, tornaré y tendré misericordia de ellos, y harélos volver cada uno á su heredad, y cada cual á su tierra.
16Y será que, si cuidadosamente aprendieren los caminos de mi pueblo, para jurar en mi nombre, diciendo, Vive Jehová, así como enseñaron á mi pueblo á jurar por Baal; ellos serán prosperados en medio de mi pueblo.
17Mas si no oyeren, arrancaré á la tal gente, sacándola de raíz, y destruyendo, dice Jehová.

1Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
2Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
3But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
5If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
6For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
7I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.
9Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
10Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
12The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
13They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
14Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
15And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
17But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
World English Bible
1You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would like to plead a case with you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
2You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
3But you, LORD, know me. You see me, and test my heart toward you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals and birds are consumed; because they said, “He won’t see our latter end.”
5“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
6For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
7“I have forsaken my house. I have cast off my heritage. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest. She has uttered her voice against me. Therefore I have hated her.
9Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.
10Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11They have made it a desolation. It mourns to me, being desolate. The whole land is made desolate, because no one cares.
12Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of the LORD devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh has peace.
13They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns. They have exhausted themselves, and profit nothing. You will be ashamed of your fruits, because of the LORD’s fierce anger.”
14The LORD says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
15It will happen that after I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them. I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the LORD lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.
17But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,” says the LORD.
